The passenger seat broke in may 06, back of seat would collapse on seat. Took truck to auto shop and was told "seat/ back bar"? was broken. On 07/08/06 driver side seat broke, same type of break, back of seat leans forward onto seat, will not catch.

The vehicle has bucket seats that recline. Recliner bolt broke and the seat fell back. There is recall 96e010000 but owner 's vehicle was not included. Vehicle was taken to dealership, but vehicle was not repaired. Vehicle is not being driven. The drivers seat is the one with problems. The passenger seat is fine.

The consumer owns a 1997 Ford f150 XLT. The consumer was involved was in a car accident over a year ago, and the driver's seat broke. The dealership replaced the drivers seat with another bracket. The seat broke again. When sitting in the seat the back of the seat went down to the floor while the front of the seat raised up. The bracket has been replaced three times. The abs light illuminated.

There is a metal part in bite of seat. When having the hand there and having someone fold seat down, hand can be cut due to non covered parts.
There is a part in bite of seat that is not covered. When consumer had his hand in the bite, and his wife put seat down, non covered parts almost cut off consumer's finger. The split bench seat would fold forward quickly if the release is pushed down. This is dangerous because it can cause injuries.
Ongoing problem with seatback failing to lock in place. Back would not stay up. Vehicle been in dealer shop on four occasions, and problem is still unresolved.
The driver's seat would not latch in the up position. When taken to dealer, dealer corrected the prolbem by slamming the seat back and forth several times.
While traveling vehicle was rear ended. As a result driver's seat collapsed, causing seatback to fall backwards. Please provide further information.
