Since the purchase, I have difficulty getting the headrests to sit and stay properly. Also think condensation is getting inside the car from the rear and front windows.

According to NHTSA recall 16v-875, recall is for driver and passenger seatbelt pretensioner cables. They may separate and not adequately restrain driver or occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. I've been calling my local Ford dealer since 1/23/17 and the parts are never in! what good are seatbelts that might not work and replacement parts that are never available to fix the problem?? my only Ford dealer is the frederick motor company, 1 waverley dr, frederick, MD 21702, (800) 734-9118.

Hit deer going 45 miles an hour when he ran out in front of me. Vehicle check was deployed. Said airbag activated. Neither the airbag went off nor did the seat belt restraint tightened. Obtained 7000. 00 in front end damage including radiator, hood fenders and pushed in driver door. Police officer checked the airbag for me and stated that I needed to let them know it should have deployed and did not. Had vehicle towed and called peck Ford. After 3 weeks in the auto repair stated they ran a check and it seemed the airbag was fine. They had to do a realignment and the radiator hose and bolts snapped off plus the body work. Ford stated it was in a recall but that they would not have the parts for a year. I told them I was afraid to drive it and told them about the accident and the failure of the airbag to deploy nor the restraints. Peck Ford also stated that there was not much they could do unless the airbag light stayed on when car was operating. Previously, in summer of 2014, I wrote the warranty center because my headliner had to be replaced due to wrinkling and falling in front. They replaced the headliner but it started happening again so I wrote them in summer of 2014. They stated the only recall they had was for the airbag and that I should stop driving the car immediately and call Ford. I called them and they said there was no parts available and stated then that the airbag light had to be on. Fast forward two months later and I hit a deer, no airbag deployed, the restraints did not work. Fearful when driving the car now and no help available. Driver seat now sags to one side.

Seat headrests sit too far forward causing back and neck pain. Cannot adjust to a comfortable driving position.
The head rests/restraints of this vehicle protrude forward in an unnatural way and force a person's head forward in an unnatural position. This is causing pinched nerves in my neck resulting in tingling in my feet when I am driving. I have researched this online, and hundreds of other people (maybe more) are complaining of the same problem with the head rests/restraints, resulting in various physical problems for those people, including backaches, neck aches, and headaches. Not all Fords have this protruding head rest, but a number of them do. I have seen a lot of complaints on the focus and edge as well. I have looked at other makes by other companies, and they don't have these protruding headrests/restraints.

2011 Ford Fusion head restraint tilts too far forward causing cramping and pain in the neck because the restraint pushed the head too far forward. I have adjusted the seat and headrest various ways but can not get comfortable. My current solution is to tilt the seat back about five notches too far back and place a pillow between the shoulders so the headrest is an inch or so behind the head. Not the best solution, but works for short trips. The fleet management says that they have not received any other complaints (these are new to fleet), but the selling dealer said that I was not the first to complain. Others that have driven this car have also complained about the same condition. Fleet's recommended solution was to not drive the Ford Fusion, but to use the chevy impala. That is not a solution to the head restraint problem. They also said that if I have an injury (I don't want to have an injury just because I drive a car) I can get a doctor's slip to drive my own car and be reimbursed. Seems once again a suggestion that does nothing to resolve the issue but removes the problem from their office. My recommendation is for a head restraint that has some forward to back adjustment (active head restraint) as in my personal vehicle which is a 2006.

2011 Ford Fusion. Consumer writes regarding front seat head restraints. Consumer states they extend too far forward of the seatback when the seat is in the position for driving the consumer stated the restraint was constantly pushing his head forward. When the seatback was in the full upright 90 degree position, the head restraint aligned with the middle seat. While pivoting the seatback about 5 degrees, to the driving position, the head restraint was still 1/3 forward of the seatback. The consumer stated if he pivoted the seatback further back, there was no support for his back.
2010 Ford Fusion hybrid front seat headrest/restraint. The front seat headrests protrude forward well past the preferred alignment of the spine. The driver is compelled to operate the vehicle with head pushed forward. This poor ergonomics has resulted in neck and back pain, headaches, and general discomfort. The manufacturer should consider a redesign and make such redesign available to consumers.
2011 Ford Fusion headrest is so far forward that it forces my wife's head forward, causing severe neck pain. As a result she removed the headrest. This is unsafe situation but necessary for her to be able to drive the card.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While traveling at any speed the contact noticed that the head rest was causing headaches and back pains due to the forward leaning position of the head rest. The current and failure mileages were 400. Updated 12/23/lj updated 01/04/11.
I changed the headrests on the first long trip we took. My friend in the passenger seat changed hers around while I was driving -- it was forcing her head forward uncomfortably. As soon as I stopped for gas, I changed mine around, as well. I am not going to change them back and it is a shame -- I am left without support should a crash occur. This is nuts. What the heck were the engineers thinking? I need to get headrests that let me sit up straight without having to look out from under my eyebrows with my nose aimed at the floor! who were they engineering the headrests for, pray tell?.
The 2010 Ford Fusion has poorly designed driver/passenger head restraints. I, of height 5'7", test drove one yesterday, and got no further than 0. 25 miles before needing to park. The headrest is angled forward, causing excessive neck strain, and there is no way to adjust its tilt to a more vertical position. I did subsequently complete the test drive, albeit with frequent bodily adjustments. Driving this vehicle with proper posture is impossible with these head restraint design. The link below for emailing the NHTSA is broken. . Read more...
I just bought a 2010 Ford Fusion. I know now why they only allow you to test drive these cars around the block. The first time I drove it, I got a burning pain down my neck and a piercing headache. The headrest is a wedge with the greatest protrusion hitting the greatest protrusion of the back of your head. No adjustment of the seat or headrest helps. I tried to return the car immediately, but they refused. This weird angle puts your chin down on your chest and your sight line in a hazardous alignment. If there were a wreck, the angle would cause your neck to snap. Ford is aware of this, apparently, and has received many complaints, yet does nothing. People are resorting to turning the headrest around, which will not protect against whiplash, or having it bent in a vise, which could allow it to break in a collision. All the Fords now have this dangerous torture device, so you cannot change them. Help!.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion s. The contact stated that when the headrest were in their proper forward position, they would push the passengers heads forward and cause him to lean forward. The head rests were turned backwards to alleviate the pressure. The dealer advised the contact that they were unable to provide any assistance or repair the vehicle in order to correct the design of the headrest. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 100 and the current mileage was approximately 7,000. Updated 09/16-10 updated 09/20/jb.
I have a 2010 Ford Fusion sel and the headrest is too far forward as not to be comfortable. I have back and neck problems as it is and this only makes it worse! I have to put the seat back back so far to not have my head crunched forward.
Iinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6) have recently purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid, VIN [xxx]. I love everything about the car except the front seat head restraints. They are angled too far forward and are not adjustable except for height. They force the head to bend forward, chin down, so that to look out the windshield one has to have the eyes in a "looking up" position, causing eye muscle strain. My wife has back problems and this non-adjustable design exacerbates the situation in her opinion and in her chiropractor's opinion. We think Ford should provide replacement headrests that allow the upper cervical vertebrae to be aligned with the lower spine when the rider's back is in full contact with the seat back. I have enjoyed having cars in which the headrest can be pivoted to allow drivers of different builds to find a comfortable head and neck position without compromising the goal of protection against whiplash injury. Please get Ford motor company to replace these uncomfortable, intrusive headrests with redesigned ones!.
My complaint is not specific to any particular automobile, but instead concerns the front seat headrests in many late-model vehicles. These headrests are angled too far forward and are causing drivers and front seat passengers to experience significant neck, back, and shoulder discomfort. This change in headrest design is too extreme. On the internet, I have read that many car owners are removing the headrests and replacing them with the forward surface facing rearward. Others are removing these headrests altogether. It is understood that whiplash injuries may occur less frequently with the new standards, however the discomfort experienced while driving for even a short period of time is causing people to have headaches and neck and back symptoms that may eventually lead to related chronic conditions.
I fully agree with the following previous complaint: 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid front seat headrest/restraint. This situation is so bad that I have reversed the position of the head rests, thus rendering them totally ineffective. I am unable to drive or ride in this car with the head rests in the normal position.
The contact owns a 2009 Ford Fusion. The contact believes that the head restraint in the front seats should have been designed differently. She stated that they protrude forward too much and make it uncomfortable to drive because her head and back are not straight or aligned. She believes that the head restraints should be flatter. The failure mileage was 75 and current mileage was 2,100. Updated 05/14/09. Updated 05/14/09.

Since buying a new 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid, the head rest/restraints for both front seat passengers are made too far forward and touch the back of the head while driving. Although we are told they are made this way for our safety, they are very annoying . The angle can not even be changed and we are still looking to replace them if we could just find ones that are just 1" further back. I have gone on-line on the internet and see lots of people complaining about the same issue and wonder why the NHTSA has not issued a recall or even required Ford to provide a replacement for a small fee? they bother my wife so much that she has removed them from the seats. Now we do not have any protection from a rear end collision.
Front seat head restraints are mounted at an extreme angle which forces your head forward at an uncomfortable angle. The head restraints need to be more straight up and down instead of curving forward.
