#2 - Traction Control System problem of the 2003 Ford Windstar
The car involved is a 2003 Ford Windstar. Brake warniing light and abs warning light both come on and stay on, beginning at varying times after beginning driving. After testing at Ford dealership, mike fitzpatrick Ford in newnan, GA, diagnosis was abs controller failure. Corrective action was to replace abs contol unit and the brake light switch operated by the brake pedal. Continued to operate vehicle until June 20, 2011 because brakes and brake light worked and the cost was prohibitive. Part numbers replaced were 2f2z-2c219-ba control and sw-6218 switch. The abs contol failure at 84,500 mileage on this vehicle indicates an inadequate reliability of design and/or manufaturing quality. This traction control system issue occurred Monday, May. 23, 2011.

The VIN of this Windstar is 2FMZA57472_. My wife's 2002 Ford Windstar has had the abs & brake light on, on our dashboard for a few months now. Ford dealships seem to think it a non issue or a brake issue. All of my brakes have been replaced and the problem still exists. I have narrowed it to the abs ecm module. The failure date was Jan. 6, 2011.

#4 - Traction Control System problem of the 2000 Ford Windstar
I own a 2000 Ford Windstar and the windshield wipers have quit working for the third time. This always seems to happen while I am driving in the rain, which is not safe at all, but yesterday it happened during a very heavy thunderstorm while I was driving down the interstate at 70 mph! it has always been wiper motor failure and the motor needs to be replaced. I have seen a recall in the past on the 2000 Ford Windstar for this same complaint. I contacted my local dealership and they stated that my Windstar was not included in this recall. As much of a hassle and an expense it is to have the wiper motor replaced, it's still not as much a hassle as it is dangerous to be driving a vehicle that not only do the wipers randomly quit working without any warning but the abs and traction control will kick off all the time and Ford won't fix or do anything about the failures that so many other Windstar owners continue to have. How many recalls on safety issues do you have to have before the entire vehicle is recalled? the frame, the suspension, the wipers, the speed control system and the anti-lock brake system, all the things that a driver truly needs to safely transport their family around have been recalled on the Windstar. This doesn't even touch the amount of money that has been spent on the lean system bank 1 & 2 error codes and the engine light still comes on for the same code. I'm sure this has a lot to do the the terrible gas mileage that is not even close to what the original sticker quoted!. Or the torque converter issues in the transmission that had to be completely rebuilt. A lot of the Windstar's issues started while it was still under warranty and just continued to get worse. If were up to me I would definitely call the vehicle a lemon. P. S. After talking to my neighbor, he also has replaced his Windstar's wiper motor three times. Seems to be happening to more vehicles than just mine. This traction control system problem happened on Monday, August 8, 2011.

The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 2FMDA58433_. I have a 2003 Ford Windstar limited. The check advancetrac and abs light come on intermittently. . . Hirsch Ford in michigan city was unable to find the problem and give me an estimate on repairs after spending 1 1/2 hours diagnostic time. . . No repairs have been done. This problem occurred on Friday, June 1, 2007.
#6 - Traction Control System problem of the 2002 Ford Windstar
The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is 2FMDA53482_. 2002 blue Ford Windstar; anti-lock brake system failure led to almost accident as I slammed on the brakes and the abs did not engage. #7 - Traction Control System problem of the 2002 Ford Windstar
Vehicle identification number (VIN): 2FMZA51422_. On April 16th I took my Ford Windstar in for repairs and two Ford recalls. After returning my car I noticed almost immediately the abs light turned on as well as the brake light. I was concerned and asked the service department to check this. The service manager told me that I needed to have the abs module replaced which is a cost of approximately $700. I cannot afford to pay this but the car is not running safe since this happend. It feels like it slips when I brake and it's been raining a lot here in florida so I'm very concerned. I think it is Ford's responsibility to replace the abs module at no cost to the consumer. This traction control system problem happened on Tuesday, Apr. 19, 2011.
#8 - Traction Control System problem of the 2001 Ford Windstar
The vehicle involved is a 2001 Ford Windstar. The failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 82,000. This problem occurred on Tuesday, September 1, 2009.
