Car would not start and had to jump off. When I did this I went to turn off and had the key out and the car kept running for around a minute before finally stalling. Did this several times with the same result. I then took it to dealership. After a day they called and informed me that the windshield was allowing water in at the passenger side and fuse panel under glove box was full of water and corroded. They advised a new windshield as mine had a small star crack in it and needed to be resealed. That along with recommending a new fuse panel. They checked all drain lines for sunroof and said they were fine. Paid the bill for this at $799. 58 with assurance that water issue was fixed. Well one week later and the first rain since after sitting in light rain for 2 hours and driving 20 minutes I noticed water dripping into both floorboards from a post. I will be taking back to dealership tomorrow with them still not aknowledging anything about water problems.

My 2008 GMC Acadia would not start and the key could not be removed from the ignition. The vehicle was towed to a GMC dealership. The mechanic diagnosed that the sunroof was leaking into the headliner and going straight to the fuse block. I had to replace the fuse block, battery as well as seal the leak around the sunroof and cowl. GMC refused to pay anything towards this repair and will not issue a recall. I spent $1,200 just to fix this due to GMC's poor craftsmanship. Mileage of car is 104,00.

It started as a very rare incident. When we heard about the heavy key chain problem we took everything off our fobs but two keys. When the key was turned, the ignition would make a strange clicking noise and all of the electronics would turn off. The key would have to be removed, reinserted, and the car started before everything could be reset. On one other occasion besides it's final meltdown did it refuse to release the key and run the battery down. Last week, on 12/10/14, I drove thee car and it acted up 3 times. We decided it was time to put it in the shop. It opened with the fob that night but refused to re-lock 2 hours later - everything dead. New battery so shouldn't be dead. Tried to start - ate key and refused to release until late next day after trickle charge put to it. Since then - all electronics work now and then but car will not start. Warranty ran out 2 days ago. Sucks!!!.

Our vehicle sat out in the rain for several hours because we were at our daughter's sporting event in another town. When we came back to our vehicle to drive home, we noticed the carpet was wet and when my husband pulled forward water began to come out of both the third row light and seatbelts. We did our best to clean the water up and planned on contacting the dealership as soon as we could. We drove the car to work the following morning as this is our main vehicle and when my husband shut off the car he noticed that it was making a strange noise. When he tried to restart the car it would not start. We attempted to jump the car, but it would not turn over. We ended up contacting a towing company to take the car to the local dealership. After a month of our car being out of commission, gm and the dealership have determined that there is extensive damage and we will need to have the wiring and circuit boards replaced at a cost of $6000. Gm has completely washed theirs hands of this and continues to say it is an environmental issue and we didn't maintain the sunroof properly (although no documentation was given to inform us that this needed to happen) and clearly they know of the design flaw since they recalled it once for a leaky roof (we had the recall done). There are documented mold issues (which make people sick), airbags that have quit working, defroster motor issues in northern states, in addition to a complete vehicle failure while driving in an undesirable neighborhood. Purchased used Acadia 10/6/11 and in December 2011 had to have battery replaced because would not start. Two weeks later car would not start again. Took to dealership who discovered sunroof drain had been plugged and caused the whole undercarriage to flood and shut all electrical power down. I hear from people that there had been a recall on the sunroof drain for exactly this problem. How can a dealership sell a car that has had a recall not taken care of??.
