The vehicle is a 1999 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated when driving at low speeds and decelerating he noticed the anti-lock braking system would engage and it also made a loud grinding noise. The vehicle was not been inspected by a dealer nor had it been repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and advised him that he was not included in NHTSA recall campaign id number 05v379000(service brakes, hydraulic:antilock). The failure mileage was approximately 130,000. This brake grinding noise problem happened on Wednesday, June 1, 2011.

#2 - Brake Grinding Noise problem of the 2003 GMC Sierra 1500
Vehicle identification number (VIN): 1GTEK19T23_. Consumer has a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact heard a grinding noise coming from the front driver side of the vehicle. The noise was heard when the vehicle was shut off. He also felt a vibration coming from the abs unit. The dealer has not inspected the vehicle to determine the cause of failure. The contact stated that he was unable to deactivate the windshield wipers. The dealer stated that the wiper pulse module should be replaced. The dealer made the replacement and no other failures have occurred. The current mileage is 34,025 and failure mileage was 33,000. It was 05/01/07 when this brake grinding noise issue occurred.

#3 - Brake Grinding Noise problem of the 2002 GMC Sierra 1500
The vehicle having this issue was a 2002 GMC 1500. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 1GTEC14T12_. Consumer has a 2002 GMC 1500. The contact heard a loud grinding noise when the brake pedal was depressed. He noticed that the front brakes were rusted very badly. The rear brakes were rusted as well, but not as badly as the front brakes. The dealer stated that there were no recalls; therefore, they could not assume liability for the failure.
