#1 - Dash Wiring problem of the 2005 GMC Sierra 1500
The car is a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500. Vehicle identification number (VIN): 1GTEC19V65_. Fan speed 5 will not work and speed 4 smell like burning wires, drivers temp control will not work only cold air. Connector under passenger side fan black wire burned into and melted connector. GMC parts man said there was a national backorder on parts because so many wes go bad. The failure date was May. 24, 2007.

#2 - Dash Wiring problem of the 2004 GMC Sierra 1500
The car involved is a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500. The VIN of the problem Sierra 1500 is 2GTEK13T34_. 2004 GMC sierra crew cab - burning odor, soot on dashboard, rear windows fail to operate. No blown fuses. Taken to thompson's GMC dealership in placerville CA for repair on October 20. Gm service department states: wiring harness for rear windows and door locks passes under and rubs against arm of parking brake pedal, leading to short circuit and failure of rear windows. Wiring harness replaced by gm service department. I can see that the new wiring harness also comes into contact with arm of parking brake pedal!
I have the old part. Consequences: burned wiring, loss of vehicle for 8 days, $772. 04 in repair cost. It was Thu., Oct. 16, 2008 when this dash wiring issue happened.

#3 - Dash Wiring problem of the 2001 GMC Sierra 1500
The car involved was a 2001 GMC 1500. While driving I tilted my steering wheel and the headlights stopped working. I found that as I moved the wheel up and down there was a spot at which the lights would stop working. After going to the dealership I they found that a wire in the junction block of the multifunction switch (blinker assembly) had shorted out causing the lights to go out. Dealership replaced the multifunction switch. This dash wiring issue occurred 10/10/2007.
