I was driving my 2009 Honda Accord on the interstate I-44 east near fort leonard wood missouri. No other vehicles were in front of me or around me. Weather was clear, temperature was in the mid 50s. No impact to the vehicle occurred. The sunroof on my vehicle spontaneously shattered and exploded sending glass throughout the interior of the car. Further, while cleaning up the glass many of the pieces were sharp and glass splinters were prevalent. There were numerous nicks and cuts on my hands and my son's hands from cleaning up the glass which was everywhere. If anyone had been in the back seat of the car (particularly a child), they could have been seriously hurt. My son witnessed this as well - he was sitting in the passenger seat. Again, both of us can confirm that there were no vehicles in front or to the side of us and nothing happened (such as a rock from a vehicle in front) that would have caused the sunroof to shatter. Further, the fact that it shattered the way it did with sharp glass and splintering throughout the car is problematic. I have tried to address this matter with Honda to no avail. I consider this a significant safety issue. A sunroof should never explode in this matter absent a manufacturing defect. More importantly, had those small, sharp shards of glass and splinters hit someone's eyes in the backseat of the car, it could have resulted a very serious injury. Based upon searches on the internet, other Honda owners have experienced the same occurrence.

My sunroof exploded while driving down the interstate with approximately 1/3 of the window blowing out while it was fully closed. I was driving on an elevated interstate without any cars around me. The sunroof had not been previously hit by a rock. The explosion sounded like a shotgun firing, shocking all 3 of the adults in the vehicle. The initial Honda dealership stated I was hit by a rock without seeing the vehicle. A second dealership said they could not determine why the sunroof shattered. Corporate Honda has stated the window is my problem and contact my insurance company.

The moonroof glass on my 2010 Honda Accord spontaneously exploded while I was driving down the freeway. Nothing hit it, there was no wind or unusual condition of any kind. One moment, normal driving, then a sound like a big firecracker exploding in the car, then I looked up and about one quarter of the glass was gone out of the center, the rest was shattered into a million pieces but still hanging in place. More glass has broken loose and fallen down and the hole grown bigger over the past day. Though most of the glass broke into safety glass-like chunks, there were some fine slivers in the passenger area that were sharp and difficult to clean up.

I was driving up I-95 north in about woodbridge, virginia at about 60-65mph. Suddenly, I heard a noise that sounded like a gun shot and a loud wind sound as if the window was open. I pulled over on the side of the road and pulled back my sunroof shade, come to find that the entire sunroof glass was completely shattered. I immediately put the shade back and drove home and immediately called my insurance company. I did not witness anything hitting my car, the only thing that I could determine is that I had my heater turned on high because it was so cold that day. My assumption is the extreme temperature differences and pressure that caused my sunroof to shatter.

My family and I were riding down the interstate in our new Honda 2010 Accord. My 2 daughters were looking though the moonroof at the plane flying above. All of a sudden, a hold blew out of the moonroof. The glass blew out--not in. Nothing hit the glass.
I was driving my 2009 Honda Accord 4dr sdn about 70 miles per hr. When the glass on the sunroof blew out the top. It was not hit by a rock or anything as we were not following anyone or met anyone going in the opposite direction. The glass was almost all sucked up and out the top so very little fell in on us. We took it to dealer and had the repairs made.

There is a constant rattle on the sunroof of my vehicle when it is closed. I took it to the dealer, and they said they would have to remove the entire sunroof just to check it. I have been hesitant to take it in due to the possibility of more damage. The dealer is downey Honda (downey, California).
2003 Honda Accord. The consumers vehicle only 3500 miles and has been serviced 5 times for the same ignition problem. The consumer was told nothing can be done and the consumer would have to live with the vehicle not starting. My car was repaired at this dealership, because coggin Honda couldn't take my car because stated there were 8 other car that were damaged due to the rain, but purchased at coggin Honda in 7/98. Had no choice but to take it to duval Honda. They told me they couldn't tell me where the leak is in my car. They also damaged the leather interior on the front doors while in their care. 2 holes are on the door. , plus scratches on the driver's door. They were not helpful at all. I had to pay $500 and now the car is still damaged.

This car is a lemon. I have had so many problems I can not believe it. The sunroof has been replace 3 times, the headliner 2 times. The fuel gauge sticks at times, even after filling the tank it only shows it's half full. The egr valve has been replaced once, and it now is bad again. I burn 93 octane gas, supposedly the cleanest, but my dealer tells me it's from dirty gas. The fan for the climate control chirps like a bird.
Driver's exterior and rear mirrors vibrate so hard while driving at highway speeds that they cause visual difficulty which may result in a crash. Dealer cannot determine the caus eof the problem. Also squeaking noise coming the sun roof which dealer have replaced once before. But the problem still exists. Please provide further information.
