1. The fabric on the seats is not colorfast. Any drop of clean water looks like a stain when it dries. 2. My steering wheel knocks when turned left and right, when in motion and stationary. It is the u-joint behind the break peddle from the steering column making a knocking/clunking noise.

My steering wheel started with making a clicking sound and now the steering is pulling and quite frankly I am afraid that my car steering column will come undone and I will have an accident. This car has less than 40,000 miles on it and should not have issues.
Flexible steering couple falls apart causing steering wheel to. Become loose and make loud metallic clanking noise. Unable to provide pictures due to me not knowing how to disassemble steering column. Multiple complaints reported according to Hyundai forums.
Clipping/popping while turning steering column. Fix not covered by dealer and is known problem. Internet search shows cars with this issue back to at least 2015. To repair at mechanic/dealer is approx $400. With it fix concerned about wear and decrease in steering ability.
The steering wheel column coupler wore out. This is an issue with these cars. Found this out by doing a web search on steering problems. No recalls on this inherit problem.
When moving steering feel like alot of play in it. When turning left to right there is a click noise also. Feels like something is wrong on inside of steering column . This is happening when driving and if your just at a stand still in move steering.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. While operating the vehicle, a clunking noise was present coming from the steering column. Also, the steering wheel was not secured and would move approximately 3/4 of an inch. The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who diagnosed that a bushing in the steering column was faulty and needed to be replaced. Holler Hyundai (1150 n. Orlando Ave, winter park, FL) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 105,000.
Clicking sound in the steering column. The dealer says that the problem is the steering coupler. . . A $4. 00 part. Then the dealer said that the fix is not under warranty and that it would cost $410. 00 to change this $4. 00 part. This fix is in fact listed as a recall on the same year Elantra sedan and the sonata models. Since this is a safety issue why is the repair covered on those vehicles mentioned above but not on the Elantra gt??? if it is a covered repair on an Elantra sedan why would it not be a covered repair on a Elantra gt sedan?.
I purchased this vehicle back in January of 2019 & when I purchased it the steering wheel made a clicking sound. I mentioned it to the car dealer & was assured it was nothing. After having my oil changed I was told my steering column needed to be replaced. This is quite disheartening as I have had the car for just one year & a half at this point. I was told to research for recalls in relation to this particular issues as it has been reported for other vehicles of the same make, model & year. I am afraid my car steering will go out while driving.
Ta kata recall, my steering wheel column rattles and shakes when I am driving. It sounds like the steering wheel is going to fall off. The steering wheel feels loose.
"takata recall"my steering wheel column rattles and shakes when I am driving. It sounds like the steering wheel is going to fall off. The steering wheel feels loose. This has been going on two years after it was bought. The faster you go the worst it gets. It happens in the city and highway.
We purchased the 2013 Hyundai Elantra brand new in Dec 2013. The car now has approx 9,200 on July 31, 2014, went to make a turn and several alarms went off on the car. The power steering went out. I was unable to complete my turn. Had the car towed to the dealership. They stated that the "column & shaft assembly" was bad and had to be completely replaced. It is very scary to be driving a car down a busy highway and all of the sudden not be able to steer the car. The steering wheel felt "locked". .
The electric power steering (eps) light came on and I had no power steering. Fortunately, it happened when I was starting the car and not while I was driving, which could have been a potentially significant safety issue. This happened with approximately 9,750 miles on the car. The majority of my driving is on the parkway and expressway. The dealership replaced the steering column. However, it is very concerning to me that there was a loss of power steering with such little mileage on the car. I was just very fortunate it happened while I was not driving.
Ecs light went on and immediately lost "power steering"/electronic steering. Vehicle became extremely difficult to steer. Vehicle is new, approximately half a year on the road with less than 2000 miles driven. Dealership mechanic says whole column needs to be replaced and that the part is back-ordered, not knowing how long it will take to repair.
First incident happened in April of 2014. Pulling out of my driveway the power steering went out. Called the dealership, made an appointment for the following week to bring my car in and it had only happened once at low speeds. Power steering went out 2 more times during the day, called the dealership back and informed them I was bringing my car in at that moment as I felt unsafe. On my way to the dealership driving down the highway, the power steering gave out on me while exiting the highway going 75 mph. I was able to get off and luckily the dealership was right off the exit. The eps light was on and it threw a code. They told me my steering column was bad. They replaced it and all was fine. Then I had an issue with my factory installed remote start a few months later. They told me a circuit was blown and it had to be replaced. Now this year (may of 2015) I have had the remote start and the power steering go out on me once again. My car is in the shop, was told I needed steering column replaced again. I refused this answer, and they are digging deeper and have figured out there is an electrical problem with my car. I have had a loaner car for 4 days and they still are no closer to figuring out what is wrong.
Car can't be kept on road it's steering column is to much play and feels like its pulling to the right. . And I have too hold steering wheel down too the left very uncomfortable car is brand new it makes no sense I been back to the dealer ship and they claim car is fine not out alignment. What's wrong with this it's terrible! something needs too be done! I can't enjoy it like I want it's a accident waiting too happen.
August 25, 2012 - returning from work on route 28, a high speed expressway, truck in front of me slammed on brakes and decided to switch exit ramps. Slammed on my brakes and steered car to right to avoid hitting the truck. While doing so, all of a sudden the steering wheel pulled sharply to the right and I had to suddenly correct the steering path in order not to go off the road. September 5, 2012 - was notified my vehicle was ready to be picked up by jerry from Hyundai customer service . I took possession of vehicle because I had no other choice. [xxx], assistant service manager, said Hyundai technical support technicians were aware of an issue with steering columns in 2013 Elantra but, no service bulletins had yet been issued. He also said he was informed that a recall may be issued. My car was the first that had presented with this problem. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S.
