My vehicle gas fuel door opens electronically/automatically. Once motor is turned off, then you can push the door open and proceed to unscrew the gas cap and fuel the car. I recently found out that this simple process malfunctioned and I had to pay Infiniti to unlock the door, so I can fuel my car! to my "disappointment" I was advised by Infiniti, that a little, tiny part {actuators that power mechanical devices (windows, sunroofs, seats, etc. )} is what's needed to resolve this issue, only it will cost me, out of pocket approximately $800, because the extended warranty, which I had at the time {car shield} does not cover it; even though, that may present a safety hazard for me should someone decides to put sugar, water or other substance into my gas tank, because I am now exposed and unprotected! having a premium car with all the wonderful features, never bought me to focus upon a fuel door release, but now, I realized that Infiniti did not install and inside option to open the gas fuel door, in case of an emergency like this! in contacting Infiniti, I asked why didn't they install the same inside release for the fuel door, as with most cars and their feedback was "my car was built without an installed backup {inside fuel door release capability} and that's just the way it was built!" no further explanation, accommodations, customer satisfaction, discounts; just no more conversation from Infiniti! to date, I feel very unprotected, hoping that no one will mess with my car and push the fuel door open for malicious reasons. I've already spent over $100 with Infiniti to get the fuel release door opened, but paying another $800 is too steep, when Infiniti should have provided this extra safety for my vehicle. Why was this model chosen to be left without additional protection and backup to protect our fuel door access? I hope you will create a "recall" on this fuel door power actuators for at least this 2010 Fx35 model, because it does in fact present a safety hazard.

I took my car in on oct 5th for the takata airbag recall. Soon after the Infiniti technician completed the work my airbag light came on. I contacted Infiniti and took my car back and they will not repair my car. They are charging me $2388 to repair it because they said the two airbags are not connected. I explained that the airbag light had never been on until the technician did the work and now Infiniti is refusing to take responsibility for their actions.

On Saturday, may 30, 2015, I experienced three anomalies with my Fx35, during two cycles (engine off). The weather was fair, with partly cloudy skies and a temperatures in the high seventies. At about 10am, when the vehicle was started in the garage, it had an unusually high rpm which I noticed as it was shifted into drive so I could pull out. I always back my vehicle into the garage, so it lunged forward with a strong jerk. Although I thought this was odd, I headed to costco in sterling va and had no further problems for the time being. After shopping at costco, I started the vehicle at around 11:15am and headed home on route 7 in sterling virginia. While approaching the red traffic light in front of the nova campus, I applied the brake. There were autos in all four lanes, several deep, in front of the vehicle. As I was perhaps 10 car lengths away and decelerating, the vehicle engine began to increase in rpm. I had to use my left foot and right foot to apply maximum pressure to the brake pedal and even then, the vehicle was not beginning to slow down. With less than 3 car lengths left to go, I had the good sense to put the gear shifter into neutral. At that point the tachometer raced to 9,000 while the vehicle came to an abrupt stop, with about 5 feet to go behind the car in front. I punched the accelerator pedal while still in neutral, and this stopped the engine racing. I thought to proceed home anyway. I put the transmission into drive and proceeded slowly with the vehicle down a busy route 7 toward mclean. A mile and a half later, while coming into another intersection, I experienced the same unintended vehicle acceleration. Again I put the transmission into neutral to avoid the likelihood of an accident. Again, I punched the accelerator pedal while the vehicle was still in neutral, and this stopped the engine racing.
The contact owns a 2005 Infiniti Fx35. While traveling approximately 60 mph, the slip warning lamp and the voc warning lamp flashed randomly. The failure progressed in inclement weather and when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was not responding. The contact had to maneuver the vehicle off the road each time the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was also included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v701000 (air bags). The contact had been waiting for the dealer to supply the part for months. The contact was unable to determine when the recall repair appointment would be scheduled. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was not available.
The contact owns a 2006 Infiniti Fx35. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that the failure was caused by damaged coils and a faulty computer. The vehicle was not repaired. No further information was available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,000.

Both sun visors have mirrors with light when cover is opened. The driver side lamp for the sun visor stopped working. It created a short inside the sun visor possible from the option of being able to extend the sun visor arm back and forth to block sun from the side. The wires inside may have wore out or somehow got connected. This created a short in the system and fuse under room lamp which controls interior lamps, driver seat and some other lighting blow out. Complete driver side sunvisor needs to be replaced to stop short in the system.
Vehicle stalled in freeway traffic do to electrical failure for enginee ignition syste. There is a service bulletin for this problem regarding ground why is there no recall, if it is so common cause the engine to fail.
Trunk, passenger door, and rear passenger door do not lock unlock when using remote and controls on drivers door 1. Having a secure environment is paramount in certain neighborhoods. When locking the doors it's imperative nobody can gain access at will by walking up to the car. If anyone can simply open the door to gain access, carjacking, injury, or even murder is easier. If the doors locked properly this provides a more secure environment for this type of scenario. 2. Nissan knowing there is a security problem with their locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. It's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. Remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. The drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery. This failure is an intermitance of operation. Sometimes the doors lock ok, other times they don't. In addition, sometimes the doors unlock ok, other times they don't. 3. In emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. Since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar.
Trunk, passenger door, and rear passenger door do not lock unlock when using remote and/or controls on drivers door this is a safety issue as not being able to lock doors after entering the vehicle leaves the passengers and driver exposed to car jacking or other dangerous crimes. Started at 47,500 miles. Dealer said $500 per door to replace defective actuators.
(jcc add structure) tl the contact owns a 2004 Infiniti Fx35. The contact stated that the dashboard was melting and bubbles appeared. The contact was concerned that the failure could cause the air bags to be exposed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 72,000.
Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Infiniti Fx35. The contact stated that key electronic system fail. The contact was unable to unlock all doors with electronic key. The vehicle was taken to the dealer whom performed a diagnostic which locates a failure code at the electronic door activator. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000. Li.
Front door locks intermittently work. Some times they will not unlock with the key fob and must use a key. Recently they have been locking by themselves as if the actuator fails.
The fuel cover locking/unlocking system does not work. This has also happened on a 2003 Nissan murano I owned.
I do see multiple other owners with the same issues. Please find my issues here. . . . . . . Issue 1: the gas gauge improperly represents the fuel level in the tank and the following issues are constantly present: 1) a full tank is never shown via the gauge 2) the gas gauge sporadically jumps around regardless of the amount of gas in the tank 3) the "empty" light comes on when there is as much as 1/2 tank of gas. This is very dangerous for me as this is my family car and I have a 2 year old son in my vehicle a lot and what if my car would stall out on the highway?? it is a good thing that I am able to keep calculations on the amount of miles per gallon my car usually gets. I was going 30 mph and turned from a light and didn't realize my gas was as low as it was and my car stalled out, luckily I was able to get over to the side of the road. Issue:2 the locks fail to react to the lock unlock function and the beep sound doesn't go off.
Trunk will not open unless you use trunk release inside of trunk door.
I was driving down i20 during afternoon atlanta traffic when all of the sudden the car started riding like a truck and then lost all power. The check engine and vdc lights came on then the car completely shut down on the interstate. I had to navigate 3 lanes of traffic with no power to pull off on the shoulder. The auto repair shop said that the car is badly misfiring on 3 cylinders and in order to fully investigate, the electrical grounds need to be replaced and maybe some other electrical components. This is a five year old, well maintained car, with only 90k miles. I wouldn't expect to have major electrical problems that result in having to navigate rush hour traffic with no power.

The door locks on my car quit working all of a sudden. This poses a serious problem when traveling with children as they could open their door. It is also a safety issue when all the doors cannot be locked when in a parking lot. This is an unacceptable problem caused by poor quality parts and/or workmanship and should be immediately recalled before someone is killed.
2003 Infiniti Fx35 trunk lock actuator motor and passenger door stop working dealer recommendation was to replace both actuators.
All of my door locks don't work. I have short arms and can't unlock my doors. First it only did every now and the. Then one door stop working now all four door locks don't work.
I own an Infiniti fx 35, 2005. My front passenger door and hatch door locks have failed ( the actuators). I called my local dealership, expressed my concern as it is a safety issue, esp since there is no key hole entry for either the passenger side or the hatch door. They did not feel this is an issue that Infiniti should be responsible for. I brought my car in to the local dearlership to have examined, and fixed (because again, this is a safety issue). . . . They told me that all my locks are failing (actuators) and it will cost $1700. 00 to fix. I can get this fixed by my local mechanic for a lot less, but I will have to buy after market products. However, I absolutely can not have all my locks fail on my car. My car only has one key access, the driver side. Which I understand is for most cars that are newer, but I also understand that most cars locks do not fail. And all cars have a key hole in there hatch. This is a safety issue in every way, and infniti absolutely should take responsiblility. Also, I have tried contacting a manger at Infiniti USA with no luck.
I purchased vehicle less than 90 days I traded in cadillace esv certified vehicle could not at the time afford warranty was told had 90 days. Vehicle one day smoke came from hood would not go faster than 20mph and smeled like gas and electrical burning. Towed to bob moore infinity in oklahoma city was told ground wire plasic melted and purned up 6 coils and ruened 2 cadyletic converters totaling $4500 in damage was told then no service records on car and this is common issue but not fixed befor it sold to me. I could not afford to fix so they offered to buy back car I agreed they gave me $12000 but this car was apraised at by bob moore $20200 I fell that they shorted me $3700 asked about this was told final offer had no choice to take but wanting this company reported because this is not the first time they have done this had spoke to a few but they did not report. I am very frustrated about this and no one will listen nor help me. Just want fair offer. And this issue over with.
Some time ago, the power locks stopped locking or unlocking. When it gets hot and the vehicle is in the sun for some time, the doors do not want to open. Some times it could be all the doors or just some. We had to climb over the back seats to unlock the doors because the lift gate is the only one that got unlocked. Some times we need to wait for a while pressing the remote hoping to get lucky and one door will unlock. Not even the key works to open the driver side door. It has got to the point that now we need to leave one door unlocked so that we can enter the car and hope that the alarm will deter any body other than us trying to get in. This has become a serious security problem. Searching the internet, they say that the door actuators are the culprits to this issue, but there is many Nissan/infinity owners having the same problem. All of the actuators going at the same time? hmmmm and at about $400 a pop per door? double hmmmm!!! I just hope that Nissan/infinity, do the right thing and find out the real solution to this problem. Other wise, the will be loosing a lot of costumers. Thanks. .
I have a 2003 infinity Fx35, for some time I have been having trouble with all the door actuators they sometime work and some not, now they don't work at all. It started with the drivers door and like 2 months later the rest of the doors including the trunk. I had it check with an electromechanical and he told me is the door actuators that I have to replace all of them. I have been reading that this happens to all infinity Fx35 models and some others. I really think this is a very serious safety issue and something most be done about it. . . . Infinity should take care of this since is a very common malfunction in they're cars. 1 actuator going bad is one thing but all of them is another. This is a very high safety issue that needs to be take care off.
My 2007 Infiniti Fx35 with only approx 46,500 miles had severe electronic malfunction caused by igntion coil failure causing my car to lose power on the freeway, then eventually seize up the engine to a complete stop.
The door lock actuators are failing in a "lazy" manner in my 2005 inifiniti Fx35. It started with the passenger side lock and now includes the rear hatch. When unlocking or locking the doors either with the fob or with the switch on the driver side door, these doors intermittently will not lock or unlock. The frequency at which it does not work is increasing with time. The danger is that I have to manually check if the door are locked. Even when they are locking I can never be sure if they are locked because I never know when they will stop working again. This is a common problem described on Nissan and Infiniti forums, which indicates a design issue either in the electrical system or the actuator itself. The cost of replacing all actuators is around $2000, which many owners have had to do.
