Passenger airbag sensor failed and results in a $7000 fix. Their solution to the problem is a brand new seat. My son exited the vehicle and the airbag light started blinking and now doesn't stop, which means the airbag isn't on. Also, one of the motors responsible for a flap which folds the top down has failed, making the top stop halfway down. The convertible top has four motors (one for each flap). And it's nearly $2000 per motor. The part is back ordered, so it makes me think it is a common problem. Both of these issues are commonly reported by G37 owners on the internet.
The passenger airbag light is blinking due to a faulty sensor contained in the passenger seat. If this light does not turn off, no airbags will deploy in the event of an accident, which is a huge safety issue. Infiniti charges more than $7000 to replace the sensor and the seat to fix this out of warranty. Infiniti refuses to do a recall for this issue which has been found to be very common in Nissan and Infiniti vehicles.

Airbag light illuminated; Infiniti dealer said need to replace both front seats at cost of $15,000 to fix (replace) faulty airbag sensors. Low mileage 2011 vehicle (62,199); no accidents or problems that caused the airbag light to illuminate. Dealer says airbags will not work, and only fix is replacement of both front seats. Online search turns up many Infiniti owners with same issue.
The airbag sensor located in base of passenger seat is faulty rendering the airbag not functional. The sensor is not available for replacement and the bottom seat unit must be replaced at the cost of $7,000. After researching the issue, it appears to be widespread to the model and year. The airbag light blinks on the dashboard indicating an issue. The issue was confirmed at he Infiniti dealer and also an independent mechanic.
The passenger airbag light is flickering on the dash. The passenger airbag light indicates that is it off whether someone is sitting in the seat or not. I took the vehicle to an Infiniti dealer where they quoted roughly $1500 to replace an airbag sensor in the passenger seat and possibly the seat bottom. This is a major safety concern due to a faulty component. I called Infiniti USA to inquire about receiving financial assistance for the repair. Their response was no since the vehicle was out of warranty. I am aware that a similar recall was made to the 2008 G37 model which is basically the same car. A malfunctioning airbag is a major safety concern for me, and I believe this is the responsibility of the manufacturer to correct.
The airbag light started blinking, I got it checked and I was told the infant seat sensor was bad and all the seat has to be changed $6000. I checked a couple of online forums and it seems like in the past 2 years people with the same car model have been complaining about the same problem. Basically the passenger seat sensor is not working so it shuts off the airbag system for the passenger.
Airbag light flashing when vehicle is turned on and remains on throughout driving until vehicle is shut off. Vehicle was not in an accident or any modifications performed on vehicle.
Airbag light is blinking so took to dealership charged $149. 00 and said they cleared codes. . . Service man said that something about passenger seat needed to be replaced for around $7000. 00. . . Light has come back on😬.
Sitting in driveway I started the car and side airbag light came on for no reason. I have spoken to multiple people and they all seem to have this issue with this vehicle. This should be a recall fix as it puts people in danger.

Check if there's a fix! ,,,,it was suggested that it must be brought back to the dealer to check out! service chg. $150. If it must be repaired the cost to repair the issue. . . A chg. To repair & replace the controller & front passenger seat would be in excess of $6,000. I've checked on line complaints & many owners have experienced the same issue!. . . To no avail! safety should be the issue, especially for the ongoing problems with faulty air bags causing some very serious accidents? might be a takata air bag issue? can you help. Sincerely john moore juanmas@comcast. Net.

2012 Infiniti G37 35000 miles. Displays flashing passenger airbag light whenever the ignition is on, and the "passenger airbag off" light illuminates continuously even with adult in passenger seat. Local Infiniti dealer troubleshot and indicated that to fix the bad passenger seat sensor the entire seat would require replacement at a cost of $8k. I appealed directly to Infiniti consumer affairs; they declined to offer any assistance as the vehicle was beyond the warranty time period. This is a design flaw--customers should not be faced with the choice of either bearing the extreme cost of poor engineering or putting passengers at risk.
Airbag light continuously blinks and cant be reset.
Airbag light flashing. Passenger airbag off light illuminated. Diagnosis code b1018 occupant sens. Dealer reset the airbag light however the next day it was flashing again.
Airbag light came on & blinking for about a month. 2009 Infiniti G37. Took car for repair & was advised over 5k to repair sensor under passenger seat. Car has only 35,000 miles & hadn't even been driven all summer and no one ever sits in passenger seat! this is definitely a defect that warrants a recall because there are many, many other complaints about this same problem all over internet. Infiniti needs to take responsibility for this defect.
Air bag light flashes seems to be common problem dealer wanted close to 4k to replace seat sensor for driver/passenger should be a complete recall on this thata mors then car is worth.
The airbag light on the dash came on flashing one day, and has never stopped. A mechanic cleared the light once when I brought the car in for something else, and the light came back on the next day. The airbag light on the dash says that the airbag is off. From my understanding, this means that none of the airbags will deploy if there is an accident. I am very concerned. This seems like a common issue for this car and Nissan/Infiniti doesn't seem to care.
The airbag light on my 2009 infinity G37 convertible was flashing so I took the car to the infinity dealer on 8/22/19 and the problem was diagnosed as a bad occupant sensor (code 1018). Dealer said that the sensor was a part of the lower seat and that it had to be replaced at a grossly excessive cost of $6911. 13. Dealer said that because the sensor was bad the entire srs system in my car is compromised and will not deploy in an accident. I've researched this problem and it appears that hundreds if not thousands of G37 owners are experiencing this same issue. I am respectfully requesting that NHTSA issue a safety recall for the manufacturer to fix this problem.
Occupant classification system malfunction. I have a 2010 Infiniti G37 with 89000 miles, never had any accident before. Recently the air bag light started flashing for no apparent reason. I took it to the Infiniti dealer and was told it was the passenger air bag sensor in the front passenger seat that was bad, and would cost several thousands dollar to fix. After doing research it suggests this is a very common problem that many Infiniti/Nissan owners are currently have. Nissan has recall for this particular problem for very selected vehicle but I think a wider range of recall should be done by Infiniti/Nissan.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Infiniti G37 convertible. While driving at an unknown speed, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Infiniti of coconut creek (located at 5501 w sample rd, coconut creek, FL 33073, (954) 773-8594) where it was diagnosed that the lower section of the passenger seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 30,500.
Air bag light recently came on. I took to the dealer and after paying a diagnostic fee of $158 they said "the seat cushion needs to be replaced, occupant sensor is part of it and it would cost about $5,000+. With so many similar complaints, this should be a recall.
Air bag light recently came on. I took to the dealer and after paying a diagnostic fee of $170 they said "the seat cushion needs to be replaced, occupant sensor is part of it and it would cost about $7,000+. With so many similar complaints, this should be a recall.
I have a 2009 Infiniti G37 with 89000 miles, just recently the air bag light started flashing for no apparent reason. I took it to the Infiniti dealer and was told it was the passenger air bag sensor in the front passenger seat that was bad, and would cost over $6k to fix. My research suggests this is a known safety issue and a common problem with Infinitis that should be recalled and corrected by Nissan corp.
Air bag sensor indicator is illuminated and blinking. This occurred during normal driving. Took it to my local Infiniti dealer and the issue is a bad sensor on the passenger seat. The repair calls for replacing the entire passenger seat, at a cost of almost $9000. This is obviously a manufacturer defect and should be subject to a safety recall because of the possibility of non-deployment of the air bag during an accident, or the accidental deployment in a non-accident situation.
The passenger airbag light keep blinking like the sensor isn't not working, I did came and ask Infiniti dealer if there's any recall and they said no.

Passenger air bag light is on. Sensor under seat is defective, which has disabled the air bag from activating in an accident creating a dangerous situation. Seat must be replaced at $7,000. This is a known problem on many cars of this model. Repair cost is excessive. Should be a recall.
Airbag light shows and blinks. Dealer says must replace control under seat. New cost is $6300 for part. Airbag system will not activate unless new control system is installed. Dash light blinks whenever vehicle is on.
Passenger airbag light blinks. Took car to dealer and they said the seat bottom needs replacing as it is an occupancy sensor failure. Cost for part is $6500. 00. Cost to install and reset is $500. That repair is half the value of what it is worth. I called infinitynot under warranty or recall. Have read online that multiple owners of these models are having same issue. I feel that this is a potential safety-related defect in the vehicle.
The airbag light flashes red on the dash panel indicating the passenger airbag is not on. It also shows on the panel under the air conditioner controls that the passenger air bag is off. This is a safety issue and it is due to a faulty safety restraint system sensor the in the passenger bottom seat. Infiniti has had recalls and issues with this srs system in the passenger seat while they did not recall the 20109 Infiniti G37. My G37 has approximately 50,500 miles and they want over $6,700. 00 to replace the whole driver's seat. This is a defective product and someone needs to be held accountable. To turn off the blinking light requires the airbag system to be disabled. This presents a serious safety issue since I am now driving a vehicle without any airbag protection.
Air bag light flashing. I reset and it came back. This issue has been reported by many people. This is safety hazard and need to be fixed by Nissan.
Passenger air bag indicator shows passenger air bag to be off and light flashing on the dash. Reset once and then came back. Car only has 59,000 miles.
Airbag light flashing. Car has 75k miles on it. Took it to Infiniti for repair. They say the passenger seat sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. They are saying it is not covered under warranty even though there are numerous reports of this issue.
I have a 2009 Infiniti G37x with 36000 miles, bought new in July 2009. Just recently the air bag light started flashing. I took it to the Infiniti dealer and was told it was the passenger air bag sensor in the front passenger seat that was bad, and would cost $6000. 00 to fix. I see this seems to be a problem with many others, but don't see a recall yet?.
