Damage was done to the drivers side door. The second incident was similar to the first. A friend borrowed the vehicle and the same thing happened. No injureis.

Transmission was slipping since December 2001. Consumer would put truck in park and it would slip out of gear. Once he thought that had placed vehicle in park, and found that he had to jump back into vehicle because it was going backward. Vehicle in repair shop replacing transmission.
While vehicle jumped out of gear, emergency brake did not hold vehicle while in reverse and moving. Consumer had to reapply brakes to hold vehicle. Please provide more information.
Vehicle was parked and shift pawl was in park. Consumer went to the rear of vehicle to open rear liftgate, but shift pawl jumped into reverse. While moving consumer was able to to grab steering wheel and applied emergency brakes, consumer was dragged, and sustained severe injuries.
Transmission slips, when placing it in park, it slips back into reverse, in other words it does not lock in place. He was told that his vehicle is not in recall. Vehicle continues to exhibit problems with the transmission. Consumer had placed vehicle in park when it started moving backwards, transmission had slipped into the reverse position.
My vehicle was turned on in park; while in park for less than 2 minutes the vehicle went from park to reverse; vehicle was stopped by hitting a tree. Now my trunk is damaged, and my power locks don't work; if I understand correctly there is a federal investigation going on with my particular brand of Jeep; the dealer said they will not fix my Jeep; so what I am suppose to do.
Vehicle was in park and turned on when it reversed on flat surface. Dealer was notified.
Consumer started vehicle, then had to get out of vehicle, left it in park with engine running, as he stepped out of vehicle, it started going backward. He was trapped between garage wall and driver door. He managed to get in to vehicle and shut off engine. Consumer suffered bruises. Damage unknown at this time, vehicle still at dealership.
Vehicle was parked on a slight downhill grade, gear selector in park, with the engine running. After a period of time less than 5 minutes, the vehicle came out of park on its own and began to roll forward, crashing through a fence, small trees and shrubs, then down an enbankment. Consumer used vehicle for delivering mail. She pulled up and there was a mailbox next to her. She got out of vehicle with vehicle being turned off in park position. She went to retrieve a post card and when she looked up door was open, and vehicle was going backwards and it hit mail box. Consumer jumped into vehicle and turned it on to stop it. $2300. 00 worth of damage. Dealership will hear about it. Consumer stated she jumped into the vehicle, slammed on brakes and turned the keys to unlock steering wheel and put vehicle back into parl.
I angle parked my Jeep in a bank parking lot. After parking, the transmission remained in drive with the motor running. I sat in my Jeep for a minute or two, assembling the paperwork I'd need in the bank. I then turned the ignition switch to the lock position, which turned off the motor (but, unfortunately, the transmission remained in drive). I then pulled my Jeep key out of the ignition, got out of the Jeep and walked about 75 - 100 feet to the entry stairs leading to the bank. At that moment, a lady yelled to me. My Jeep was slowly rolling backwards and it stopped after it hit a building about 70 feet away, striking the building at an approximate 60 degree angle. Due to the manufacturing defect, my Jeep sustained body damage in the amount of $260. 42 for which I have an estimate. Had the defect not existed, there would have been no accident because I would not have been able to turn the ignition switch to lock without first placing the transmission in park. Daimlerchrysler motors corporation repaired the manufacturing defect but refuses to take any responsibility for body damage to my Jeep. Can you help? will you help? your help to resolve this ridiculous issue would be greatly appreciated. Daimlerchrysler's reference number for my claim is 9908985. I have telephoned them two or three times and written two letters to their auburn hills, mi offices and they have written three letters to me but refuse to pay the $260. 42.

Vehicle was parked and running inside of a parking lot. Vehicle took off without prior warning. There wasn't anyone inside of vehicle, and it stopped on impact with a fence.
I was going to go workout and had started my vehicle. I realized I forgot my gym bag in the house. I live in a townhome and there is a parking lot directly infront of the house. I left the car running in park in the parking lot. I then proceeded into the house to get my gym bag, when I returned the vehicle was moving backwards and headed towards my house. I quickly got inside and applied pressure to the brakes. I brought the vehicle to a stop just before the backend had hit a tree. I am 100% confident that I left the car in park. Fortunately there were no passing pedestrians or cars.
While parked, the vehicle's transmission slipped out of gear, rolling down an incline and traveling about 500 feet before hitting a mailbox and coming ot rest on a neighbors front lawn.
Vehicle was idling in park while putting on seatbelt. Suddenlyand without any warning, vehicle shifted into reverse. Had to slam on brakes, hard to stop. In the process driver had injured his back due to jerking of the vehicle and brakes being applied.
The vehicle continues to move when it is placed in "park". The problem is intermittent and has occured apx 6 to 8 times in the last 6 weeks. I usually need to set the parking brake to be sure that the vehicle will not move.

When shifting vehicle from drive to reverse there is a clunknig noise coming from underneath of vehicle. Dealership is aware of problem.
Placed gear shift in park, then walked to the rear of the vehicle and raised the hatch. The vehicle started to roll backward toward the owner, owner jumped out of the way and the vehicle proceded into ongoing traffic. Managed to jump in and pulled the gear shift into forward gear and pulled back to sid of road, narrowly missing a semi-truck.
