Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Jeep Wrangler

Spoke with brittany about the issue with the navigation system (error messages). Told her that the dealership said the entire radio must be replaced and will be roughly $600. Brittany told me that uconnect and garmin make the products in the Jeep pertaining to those issues. I told brittany that I had spoken to multiple people at both of those companies and they all said that the issues I am having are all a Jeep problem. I told brittany that the research I have done has indicated that this issue is a known Jeep problem. Brittany told me that they have received many calls and have had many claims regarding this issue with Jeeps as new as 2018, 2019, and 2020 models. They also have many calls and claims regarding this issue in older model vehicles as well. She stated that there have been attempts by customers to get the cost of these issues covered, and they have been denied each time. Brittany added my name/vehicle/issue to the claims regarding this issue. She said that if there was a recall or extended warranty regarding this then I would receive information in the mail. I told her I was going to get the issue fixed through the dealership and asked about reimbursement if this recall or extended warranty were to come out. She told me that if either the recall or warranty do come out, I should keep my receipt from the repair and I can get refunded for the full cost of the parts/labor/taxes/etc. I also asked about if this refund would apply if the extended warranty were granted since the vehicle was made in canada, and she told me I would still get the refunded amount. � I expressed my concern with warranties being voided when the vehicle crosses the boarder (even though my vehicle is past the time for the Jeep warranty) because a Jeep is a Jeep and they are all made the same regardless of where I live. She heard my complaint but was unable to help.

Air bag light is on, horn doesn't work, radio controls on steering wheel doesn't work. I'm sure it's the clock spring but according to recalls mine wasn't under the recall. Worked perfectly on way home from work, got in a few hours later to get dinner and nothing worked, air bag light came on and horn wouldn't work.

Vehicle has been garage kept except for this one day. We where getting ready for a trip and that night it rained and we noticed when moving that was a water leak. The leak was coming from the center of the freedom panels. The water dripped on the electrical mirror then on to the radio and final into the automatic shiftier. This happened numerous times after on that day since it was a rainy day then after.

While headlights/fog lights on, right turn signal on as vehicle making turn fog lights go off. Intermittent sound with am-fm part of radio, satellite part works fine .

The vehicle display and back up camera will freeze and not be usable often. It will freeze and not allow me to see my back up camera. It will also freeze and not allow me to turn the radio down or change a channel. This can happen while driving or while it is stationary.

Pick up new 2018 Jeep Wrangler sahara unlimited 04-23-18 issue #1 - navigation, back up camera, radio . . . All have serious issues 03-06-20; replaced 03-12-20. Issue #2 - navigation, back up camera, radio . . . All same issues 05-08-20; replaced 06-11-20. Issue #3 same issues and reboots multi times while driving, replaced 01-08-21. Issue #4 same issues reboots multi times while driving, same issues reboots multi times while driving, ordered new radio 01-29-21. Waiting on new replacement again. All these issues were noticed while driving on all kinds of roads. Make multi pics and videos.

The radio in my jk 2014 sahara kept over heating and now does not work at all it is completely black screen.

Clockspring recall: other year models of the same generation Wrangler show a clockspring recall, but my year model doesn�t. My clockspring has failed now and I lost most of the steering wheel controls, including my safety horn, and if my research is correct, my driver side air bag will not deploy now if in a collision accident. When turning my windshield wipers would turn on randomly, and then when driving shortly afterwards I went to honk at animals in the road and the horn did not work. The next day I noticed that the radio and driver information center controls on the steering wheel did not work either.

Left front turn signal works intermittently, power windows work intermittently, radio works intermittently. Was told it was the totally integrated power module. This seems to be a very common problem on the Jeep Wrangler.

*possible takata recall* but recall was completed and now unknown, reason I say that is the the smoke seemed to becoming from the passenger side near the air bag. Jeep was stationary and was started up to drive and began to smoke while parked in the drive way. The smoke smoke continued for approximately 3-4 seconds and was whitish blue in color. After the had dissipated there was a distinct smell of an electrical burn. All windows, blower, ac, heat controls work as normal, radio and speakers work as normal too. I've had my Jeep sense 2012 and have never seen or experienced this issue before.

2012 Jeep sahara radio stopped working. It cuts in and out (only static). Wipers goes off whenever it wants and now wiper fluid doesn't come out.

I purchased vehicle in Feb 2018. Within the first week or two started having problems. A coworker purchased a 2018 Jeep cherokee. She returned it in two months because it would not start. Another coworker's girlfriend purchased a 2018 rubicon with engine light problems, starting issues, and radio not working. My vehicle history: rear defroster sensor on back window does not stay secured. 4th return to dealer. Second window to be replaced. Panel light for rear window defroster continues to light, but sensor is not connected. Have been on wait list since March 2019 for new window to arrive. It appears the sensor cord is too short to reach window when raising. Death wobble has happened 3x while in motion on highway and has been at the dealership 3x for this issue. Vehicle does not correct itself while driving and it feels like the vehicle is coming apart. Had to continue driving on the highway, slowing down did not correct the problem, until I reached a safe place to pull over. Once coming to a complete stop, it corrected itself. The Jeep looses total control and I am afraid something may come apart causing injury or death. Freedom tops had rattle inside of them with huge wind noise when in motion. Problem corrected when dealership switched out freedom tops. Now the freedom top is too big for freedom bag. The bag appears to be coming apart when zipped. Drove to store and got out of the vehicle. Tried to remote lock the vehicle, which failed. Tried to start Jeep, it would not start. Followed instructions on panel to use key by placing close to remote start button. After a second try it started. Radio playing two stations at one time. Back camera would not work. Key fob replaced as it was falling apart. Armrest replaced, would not connect when enclosed in holder. All began in 2/2018. Date I am about to enter below is for the wobble.

Randomly the airbag light came on and shut off the same day. The next day it came back on and won't go off. This is new. The radio skips every couple of seconds and interrupts all sound making a popping noise from every speaker. It does not matter if I am using the auxiliary satellite am fm or even do you connect device. Usually if it is the first time the vehicle is started that day the radio works fine along with everything else until it is shut off and restarted. This has been happening for over a year it stopped for about a month and started up again.

-navigation system stopped working with error messages: "no map data available"; "detailed maps are required for routing. No detailed maps were found on this unit". -all other electronic systems including radio work well.

Last year (2016) I had a piece of plastic (looks like tape) coming out between the steering wheel and steering column while driving on our local street. I didn't realize it was wires at first. This wire 'tape' eventually broke which means you don't have a working airbag, horn, etc. Brought it to a local garage last fall (2016) and was told the clock spring caused this and there was a recall on it. Put the Jeep in the garage for the winter and today (3/2/2017) called the dealer to make an appointment. After giving them the VIN # I was told that the recall didn't apply to my Jeep Wrangler. Btw it only had 40,920 miles on it!.

There seem to be a number of electrical issue mostly around the door locking failure; the horn and the touch radio.

Asking about a recall regarding the radio's in Jeeps having a security flaw that allow hackers to take control of the car. I noted in the associated press article by tom krisher Jan 8-10, 2016 that Chrysler had a recall for this problem. Can you please send me an email regarding more informamtion about which model years this recall was for and what Chrysler did to correct it. It has not happened yet. Thank you, dave.

The horn does not work. All controls on the steering wheel are not working. (cruise control, radio volume and tuning, reset buttons) the signal lights do not turn off automatically. The check engine light stays on, and the air bag light also stays on. A diagnostics was performed showing clock spring needs to be replaced. My complaint is that this is the second time I have had this happen. My Jeep is a right-hand drive which I use for mail delivery. Chrysler covered the cost with half a warranty the first time. This was August 2014 with 68000 miles. The second time was December 2015 with 86000 miles. Chrysler is saying they can not help. This has been a recall on other right hand drive Jeeps in my post office. Mine is doing the same thing, therefore I feel that it should be covered fully to be replaced.

In 2009 my tipm failed and I experienced the 'possessed Jeep' condition where everything turned on (lights, turn signals, horn, radio blasting with no display). I took it to the dealer and they replaced free of charge (under 5 year warranty). In 2012 my rear brake calipers seized on both the passenger and driver side, they were glowing cherry-red after a 1 hour commute into work, perfect to start a fire if I had pulled into a gas station with some gas spilled on the ground or something. I got after-market calipers because the guy at auto zone said that he had several customers with the same issue that replaced it with factory calipers and they failed within 40000 miles, they went with after-market calipers and never had a problem, I have not had a problem since myself. Well now all of a sudden my horn, front passenger parking lamp/turn signal stopped working. There are no blown fuses or unhooked wires, everything is stock (I bought the vehicle brand new). At this same time, my passenger seat keeps coming unlatched and flying forward and back (as if someone were trying to enter the back seat). I can push the seat back into position, but it will fly forward all by itself at random. This started immediately with the horn and passenger parking lamp issue. This is dangerous and presents a choking hazard, especially if someone is sitting in the seat with the seat belt fastened. Since the horn has stopped working, I am concerned that my air-bag may not deploy (clock-spring issue) or if it is that tipm again. I don't think I should need to pay for yet another tipm this should be covered for the life of the vehicle since it is a safety hazard.

Driving down the road when suddenly the horn started honking,wipers started on their own as well as wiper fluid squirting , radio came on and lights turning on and off. Pulled over and even after the car was turned off and key removed ignition the car remained running with all electrical equipment running off and on. It seems that many other people have had this problem with their Jeep/ Chrysler vehicles. I replaced the battery cables and started the car again, it was fine for about 30 seconds then it all happened again until I removed the battery cables. I removed the battery cables to the car because I'm concerned that the electrical problem may cause a fire under the hood and possibly burn my house down.

Leaving a parking lot all my electrical components began going haywire (wipers came on, wiper fluid started spraying, radio turned on and off, heat turned on and off, horn was blaring, door locks locking/unlocking at random). I removed the keys and the electrical failure continued. I began to smell burning plastic and noticed smoke/flames coming out from under the hood on the passenger side of the vehicle. After opening the engine compartment the fuse box was engulfed in flames. I was able to put the fire out with a fountain drink and a few bottles of water from bystanders. The wiring harness continued to smolder until the battery cable was removed. It is now in the shop to be repaired and will cost me 500 dollars out of pocket for my deductible. Thankfully no one was injured or killed and the vehicle wasn't a complete loss. This car also has no after market modifications.

Jeep completely died (lost all power, including all electrical, brake lights, panel lights, etc) in condo parking lot. Got out to start pushing it back to parking spot, and a few seconds later the door chime started and power was restored. Radio was booting up from cold start (showing garmin logo). Restarted car, it turned over and started normally. Started driving forward again, and in about 20 feet, it completely died again in the same way, and came back to life about ten seconds later. Decided it was not safe to drive, and was able to restart again and reverse to parking spot. Jeep was towed on November 3 and repaired on November 4 when the part came in. I was told that the tipm was replaced with a new version that didn't have the same type of problems.

Driving about 40 mph and Jeep stalls while driving, everything turns off and radio resets time back to 12, done it more than 10 times, I take it to a dealer and have the computer connected and they say no codes show up.

Death wobble********************************* (main concern) I have almost died a 1000xs due to this death wobble. I went through hell with the previous dealer dealership . It has been many years bringing the Jeep in to garages and no one can figure it out. I had to deliver a part 77 miles to and back and had to stop over a million times with myheart pounding. I am sick of worrying about dying. This is a serious serious issue god forbid people that have children in car seats. This has happened onthe freeway and local roads. Very close deadly situations. I am tired of noone believing this! this is a known issue with Jeep and noone hears it! how are they not legally responsible ???this is the worst-feeling in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!many garages and no one says anything is wrong. There is serious issues and I am going to die! please help! please! there has always been problems with this overheating and electrical. . . Radio hasn't worked in months once in a while it comes on intermediately. . . Seatbelt lights on dashboard and have been told this has a electrical problem from many garages and they also can not find where or why. . . . This is the worst vehicle! the death wobble is the main concern because it will kill me and anybody else that is having this issue. Its just horrible. This vehicle took me over a year to get inspected because of this electrical/computer issue!.

2004 Jeep Wrangler. Consumer writes in regards to several issues found during inspection after purchase of vehicle the consumer stated the day she test drove the vehicle, she noticed some play in the steering, the engine seemed to miss a little, and the cd player in the radio seemed to work whenever it wanted to. The next day, the consumer noticed the front differential leaked an oil spot on the concrete driveway. The consumer took the vehicle to a pre-sales establishment and the inspection revealed, the rear axles were leaking on both sides, the pinion seal in the front differential needed to be replaced, the front track bar had play, the transmission needed a new pilot bearing; as there was a noise when accelerating and the rear sway bar links were loose.

While driving down the high way at 60mph my radio died for 3-5 seconds and after it came back on my whole engine/ car died and the dash lights lit up. When I pushed the clutch in and released it the car came back on.

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 30 mph, the stopping distance increased when the brakes were applied. The contact stated that the failure also occurred the following day while driving 40 mph. The road conditions were clear. He further stated that while driving 2 mph, the vehicle veered to the right. The dealer adjusted the tire pressure. In addition, there was a five second delay when he started the vehicle. The contact stated that the air conditioner and radio worked intermittently. The dealer was unable to duplicate any of the failures. The failure mileage was 900 and current mileage was 1,702.

I have a Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara 4wd, bought new in may 2007. Since the 1st day, if I close all windows at the same time, the radio power cycles. This happens 90%+ of the time when I do it.

While driving at roughly 70 mph on highway throttle felt a little weird then the rpms dropped to zero as the electronic throttle control light on the dash came on. Immediately headed for the shoulder as I lost power steering and power braking although the electronic steering/braking system was alerted during my swerve towards the shoulder. The vehicle was very unresponsive. Upon reaching the shoulder the vehicle stalled. Turned off the vehicle, and then restarted it and cautiously returned home. Consulted the manual and it appeared that such events were expected and considered normal if the electronic throttle control light did not returned upon restarting the vehicle. The vehicle has shown signs of repeating this trouble and during those times I have let off the throttle, down shifted and then shifted up again in hopes that whatever glitch was occurring would be reset. Conditions: late afternoon, f, driving for about 45 minutes manual transmission , stereo was on.

1998 Jeep Wrangler 4. 0l, exhaust manifold crack at 30,000 miles. Jeep/Chrysler refused to fix, stating only catalytic converter covered under warranty. Crack occurred in a weld joining the two pipe, almost 3/4 of the way around the pipe, causing cosiderable noise, and loss of power. Guages fail periodically, but come back on there own, after a few minutes. Air conditioner drains onto floor inside vehicle on long drives and can even short out the radio. The steering column also sqeals like an old door when its cold outside.
