Electronic Stability Control problem #1

Dealership failed to fix and inspect my sbc pump which lead to my vehicle being totaled and losing esp.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

While driving, with short beeps , the sbc in my w211 gives a short warning and fails completely. It is very risky to drive after that. With such an expensive car the reliability has been compromised. If there is a recall it would help many owners.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

Check engine light goes on and off for days at a time . Brake lights on dash stay on all the time abs will also come on while driving and my car will stop . I have to force the car into park . . . Pump my brakes the breaks make a sound and then they start working again . . . . There is a humming noice when I start my car as well as the seat belt light goes on and off even with my seals belt on.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

Car shut off randomly by going safe mode while driving, constant break warning in bright red " break visit workshop" I went to multiple shops and a consistent electrical issue but, problem to be determined, car has been checked multiple times before I purchased it from the used car dealer with the srs light on, I did not know what it was. The car has had the alternator replaced 3 times, both batteries twice, one short was found in faulty wiring harness in truck being pinched. The dealer would deny sbc unit recall every time I called fletcher jones, and only gave me the option to pay them for a diagnosis and then they will determine if its faulty instead of my life being risked as well as those around me I finally tracked down the number for corporate and I got conformation from mercedes corporate say my VIN was included in the list. The car would leave me without breaks, power steering multiple times and always without notice occurring mostly on the freeway. The sbc unit was eventually replaced by a supposed authorized shop and I still have not received any reimbursement and then the same problems occurred shortly after the repair. The electrical issue had drained the batteries yet again so the car was garaged at my parents where it eventually caught fire in that location which makes this whole ordeal even more outrageous due to mercedes major lack of concern with this and they still want me to pay them to fix it before they will even decide to do anything. I have many different quarterly report print outs as well, out of the 100s of 1000s documented to possible 2 million total faulty cars , my car had almost all of different safety issues reported. Bought car @ 73k mi, caught fire, blew hole in manifold @ 123k, just isn't right, seems they are trying to cover up true amount of faulty cars in us by asking confidentiality by NHTSA granted blacked files illegible.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

Mercedes dealer says that my VIN number is not under this recall. I bought the car on July 31,2009 and the recall for the brake pump came out in October 2009. I have had the car serviced at the same mercedes dealer for 8 years and they have never told me about any recall. Is my car covered under this recall. I understand there is a 10 years limit on the recall and mercedes has been regularly servicing my car since year 6 to year 10 I. E. @009 to 2013 and they have never mentioned any recalls in any of the times I have had the car serviced since July 31, 2009.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

Ignition and key defects causes car to stop running and stall. Steering wheel locks while car is in motion.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

I was driving down a paved road, went to make a left hand turn and my esp came on, vehicle shut off and almost ran me into another vehicle, which then caused me to run into the ditch. Now I'm finding out that there is a recall on the sbc unit, which is what's wrong with my car, but the recall is not showing up for my VIN number. I am very, very disappointed/frustrated by mercedes. This is a very expensive part to replace. I should not have to pay out of pocket to fix my car, which is now sitting due to it not starting, especially if other same year vehicles were affected and theirs is covered under the recall. I think the entire situation is ridiculous! I will never own another mercedes!!!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

Gas smell all the time, main computer keeps on and drains battery, brakes lights.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

Water gets in the trunk somehow and causes faulty wuthering sam boxes. . Creating electrical fire hazzard. . Can't seem to figure out how water gets in trunk and settles where spare tire sits near battery and electronic wiring.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

Replaced battery (30 days ago) and now warning light comes on saying I need to replace the battery every 10 miles and will not go off. Brake lights (abs and esp) lights comne on and nothing is wrong when it is being repairs. Filled up my car yesterday and strong gas fumes in the car and in my garage. Made me nauseated. Read this was recall for that year and model.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

I dropped off my car at auto shop due to my car starting rough, the ac and fan cut off, and check engine light came on. I was also concerned that this could be the wire harness as I had read about problem on the internet, and had discussed possible issue with various mercedes mechanics. I was told that Mercedes Benz had installed bio degradable wire harness that were resulting in premature deterioration. While my car was in the sevice bay at s the automotive shop my engine wire harness caught on fire! the mechanic was able to put the fire out before entire car and his shop caught on fire. I have asked him to retain harness for evidence, he said harness is in pieces due to extreme heat of this electrical fire. I am so thankful that the car caught on fire at the shop, or my entire family could have been killed. I say this as my electric locks were messed up, and sometimes I had to wait up to a minute or more to open the car doors and trunk, and also to lock my vehicle due to some sort of short. We could have all burned to death if the car caught on fire while driving on the highway, and we could not of exited the vehicle. This is a serious safety issue, and there needs to be a recall. There are over 700 complaints, along with dozens of fire complaints, regarding engine wiring harness defect on Mercedes Benz built between 1991-1997 with the national highway traffic safety administration. How many safety reports, engine harness fires, and oossible harness fires resulting in death does it take for action in the form of a recall by Mercedes Benz and the NHTSA? this is not a matter "if" these wire harness with fail, but when and how. I would like to request an investigation regarding my engine wiring harness that failed and caught on fire, and resulting damage to my car.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

I left my home in cincinnati, OH at 8:25, with a 1/2 tank of gas, drove ~ 3 miles to hwy126 and merged to 75s. I moved from the right to the middle to the left lane. After being at 50 mph ~ 2 minutes on the left lane, the car suddenly stopped. The dashboard was all lit up with warning signs, check engine, brakes and oil. I put my hazzard light on, put the car in park, turned the key off, and then back on. The same warning signs came on and the car did not start. I called mercedes assitance who advised to call 911 and that a tow truck will arrive in 1 hour. I called 911 and surprisingly got a voice message that all operators are busy! a minute later an operator came on the line, she asked where I was and I told her that I was on the left (high speed lane). She asked me if I was in a black mercedes. She indicated that a dispatcher is on the way. At 8:51 I called aaa to get a towtruck earlier. They said they will come in 45 min. A car assistance van came and eventually the police car. They stopped behind my car, and tried to turn the car on and were unable to, they asked me to put it in neutral but the gear would not move. The policeman stopped the traffic on the highway, asked me to step out of the car while he managed to put the gear on neutral and asked me to sit back in the car and steer. They manualy pushed the car to the right shoulder but I was not able to steer as the power steering was not working. At 9:18 the aaa truck came and towed the car to the mercedes dealership. They diagnosed the problem as a sudden failure of the crankshaft position sensor and replaced it for a charge of $463. 46. I found on the web that several mercedes models have had this problem occur but there has never been a recall. The sudden complete failure of a car in the midst of rush hour traffic creating a major hazard to me and other drivers needs the attention of the NHTSA.

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

On July 5th on a busy city street in charlotte nc the brakes suddenly locked and brought the car to a stop. The cars behind me were able to avoid a rear end accident. There were no warning lights on at the time but once the brakes locked the bas/esp lights appeared. I got off of the street and turned the car off and on the restart all lights went off. Tried to drive the car home but within one mile the same thing happened again. I was scared to drive it so I had to be towed.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

I purchased my car from a used car dealership of course I expected to have to have minor work done on it. Immediately noticed that the heater didn't work when I had it repaired I was told that some valve often gets stuck on these cars the dealership always run diagnostics on your car whether you want them to or upon running the diagnostic I was advised the my new used card would need about $6k in work done from the hood to the trunk I decided to keep the car and get the major work done in stages 1st thing I had done was front break pads and rotors although I opted to have the work completed by an authorized repair shop and not the dealship for obvious reasons (cost) not once did the dealership complete recall repair work or even mention it to me that there were several recalls and my car needed to have those repairs completed but rather over charged me for ball joints plus several other things that more than likely did not need to be repaired. I felt completely taken advantage of and raised my concern adamantly to little avail. I took my car to the dealership multiple time prior to the expriration of the said 10yr extended warranty with regard to the sbc failing not once did they mention or repair it knowing full well that the main purpose of me bringing my car to them was specifically due to the brake warning light being illuminated on the dash I was told that it was some type of sensor not a big deal to worry about that my car would continue to stop and there was no need to replace the said sensor an unnecessary cost since my breaks were fine I told them my breaks weren't fine it was taking too long for the car to slow down and stop they did nothing that was 2012 the condition worsened and the light went from white to red I decided to research online a few months ago and came across 3 recalls I called mbusa they told me the warranty expired November 2013.

Electronic Stability Control problem #15

The "idiot" light messages came on as follows: brake assist, esp, visit workshop followed elect. Stabil. Prog. , esp, visit workshop. These messages then went away, but returned several days later. No issues could be determined as to what could be wrong. This pattern re-occurred over a couple of days. Is there a recall or a service bulletin related to this make, year, and model, related to the message that comes up periodically?.

Electronic Stability Control problem #16

Complete brake failure. Almost crashed. I have numerous fault codes in computer, abs code, sbc code, resivior code, etc, etc on a 58,000 milr car! they are telling me only one part has extended warranty and that is the sbc. Everything else I must pay for. The sbc effects all of these other parts and that is crap! like which came first? the chicken or the egg. Why have you not effected a complete recall of this make & model as everyone is having the same problem. You and mercedes are going to get someone killed as the brakes go to manual and it's hard panic stoppng a 3400lb car!!!!!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #17

While I was driving the car in 35 miles speed, all of a sudden the brake system failed. I was unable to control my 2003 mercedes e 320 and I was almost dead crossing a heavy traffic area. Fortunately I turned the car left to a parking lot and changed the gear to parking to stop the car and to avoid getting in to the shop. I bought the mercedes with a trust, but I lost my trust. Not only that I am still waiting to get the repairing cost from mercedes due to the product defect.
