Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Nissan Altima
Nissan Altima owners have reported 15 problems linked to radio/tape cd player (under the equipment category).
#1 - Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2003 Nissan Altima
The vehicle involved was a 2003 Nissan Altima. My trunk latch will randomly pop open. The first time was while driving in a residential neighborhood. The second time, I came out of a store to find my trunk open. It keeps popping open every time I drive now. It's very dangerous on the highway to suddenly have your trunk fly up blocking your view to the traffic behind you. I have jimmy rigged it with a bungee cord inside so that it only pops up about an inch or two when the latch pops. I would just duct tape it, but I need access to my daughter's stroller. I also unplugged the interior trunk light so that my battery would not be worn out. The weird thing too is that the door open light did not go on when the trunk opened. Hoping my husband can fix this during the weekend. This radio/tape cd player issue occurred 08/26/13.

#2 - Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2013 Nissan Altima
The car involved was a 2013 Nissan Altima. I hear a vibration coming from outside of my drivers door at highway speeds. I took it back to the dealer and the first time they told me they could not reproduce the problem(even though I knew when I dropped this car off that there is a service bulletin for this exact problem). I told them this when I picked it up and they told me they didnt have the parts yet. It kept making the noise while driving so I brought it back the second time and they said they completed the service bulletin by installing some double sided tape. Now just over a week later I am hearing the noise still. This radio/tape cd player problem happened on 03/04/2013.

#3 - Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2012 Nissan Altima
Purchased my 2012 Nissan Altima coupe 8/2/2012. In just over 30 days the paint was coming off the rear bumper on both sides near the rear tire where the bumper meets the body of the car. Took the car in to have the bumper repainted. Within 60 days the paint was coming off in the same place again. Took the car back last month and was repainted with 3 flaws. . . Needless to say it has to go back yet again!! also, within a few days of purchase I noticed that the radio would not pick up local radio stations without a lot of static and interference. Only 1 out of 12 presets do I get on a consistant basis and I only drive within a 25-30 mile radius of my home. Took to the dealer and they said it was because of the window tint. Gave them information from 3m that the tint would not interfere with the radio and then they said they didn't hear it. Taken back on several occaisions and no resolve. Noticed 3/17/2013 that my leather wrapped steering wheel has split in the grain of leather and it is right where my right hand goes to drive. Transmission is not consistant. . . When I let off the gas briefly it is as if someone has hit the break pedal and the car "draws back". . . Very annoying!!! I also purchased xzilon paint protection system at the dealers recommendation because the car is black and I live in FL. . . Now 7 months later this protectant has completely ruined the paint on my car and shows horrible marks on the hood and leaves terrible water spots on the vehicle that are almost impossible to remove. Taking to the dealer for the new paint issue tomorrow. I am hoping to just trade in and get another car. . . Unfortunately under the circumstances it will be a Nissan. . . But will not be an Altima!. This radio/tape cd player problem happened on 09/20/12.

#6 - Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2005 Nissan Altima
The vehicle involved is a 2005 Nissan Altima. I bought my 2005 Altima may 3, 2005, since the purchase I have had nothing but problems with the radio. If you put on the rear defroster the radio goes to 100% pure static. Also when I brought the car into gregoris Nissans svc dept they told me that they may have to replace my rear window! the other problems that I have been experiencing with this car is you can not read the display of the radio when it is sunny out. Also I have a rattle in the drivers side door when the radio is on. I was told it was my speaker and they would order me one. First of all it's not the speaker it is the door! I am done with Nissan and their products. If anyone can help me I would appreciate ak. It was 08/05/2004 when this radio/tape cd player issue happened.
#7 - Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2005 Nissan Altima
2005 Nissan Altima - the radio produces an acceptable sound but the face plate lacks sufficient luminosity & contrast for the information to be seen. Typically, it is impossible to read the display while driving as you must face directly in-line with the unit. Nissan was contacted 3/4/05 and acknowledged there were problems and that they were the result of the radio being located too high resulting in sunlight "washing" out the display. I stated the problem exists at night as well and a contrast/illumination adjustment would help. I asked Nissan to replace the radio with a different unit and they refused but indicated there would be a redesign in 2006. This issue happened on Friday, March 4, 2005.

#12 - Radio/tape Cd Player problem of the 2001 Nissan Altima
My 2001 Nissan Altima, with approx 89000 miles, has started experiencing engine failure at cruising speeds (50-70 mph) on the freeway. It is intermittent with no apparent warning. First, all guages, including gas, temperature, rpm and odometer, fall to zero. The car jerks as if downshifted, and slows drastically, and the gas pedal does not accelerate the car. It has happened 7-8 times in the past few weeks. The radio display light also blanks out, not sure if this is related or a separate problem. It was 10/19/03 when this radio/tape cd player issue occurred.
