#2 - Cruise Control problem of the 2002 Oldsmobile Alero
The car involved was a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero. VIN of the vehicle was 1G3NL52EX2_. When I put my car into drive and let off the brake the car accelorats by itself. I do not have my foot on the gas and the car will continue to speed up until I hit the break. While breaking the car seems like it is still trying to accelorate. You have to push the break all the way to the floor and hold it to try and maintain a full stop. If I put the car in neutral the rpms shoot way up. If I brake and stop the car and quickly throw it into park and shut it off and restart the car it usually solves the problem but it is definitly not a fix. There is just over 180,000 miles and I have just recently started to notice the problem it has happened a handful of times and I am trying to find the problem and get it fixed. This is very dangerous. The blinkers also peridoically stop working and can be fixed by clicking the hazard lights a few times but again not a permanent fix. The cruise control has gone out and the trac control doesnt turn on. This car is becoming a death trap and expensive and dangerous to drive!. This cruise control problem happened on Wed., Feb. 1, 2012.

It would really help to have a recall to save people their hard earn money on a problem that should have been fixed before the car was sold. I have been late to work many times, had to catch buses, and walk many miles because of this car. I have paid over $300 on rides to and from work just so I can pay for parts for the car to only run for a week. The cruise control went out a week after I had the vehicle which I bought the vehicle at 30, 000 miles. The passenger side view mirror shatter going the a roadway about 35 miles an hour, almost causing eye damage to a very young child if I hadn't roll the window up in time due to child being seated in the back seat in a child seat. #12 - Cruise Control problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero
The vehicle involved was a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero. All four of my window regulators have failed within a period of 2 months, I have replaced 3 of the four, the left rear door still has not been replaced do to the cost of parts for this car, in adition, I have had to replace the front calipers, brake pads and rotors on this vehicle 2 times within a period of 1 year, just before the last time I replaced them, my rear calipers went out, they will engage, but will stay locked, only releasing after I drive for about 20 feet or so, I have also experienced problems with the security system activating itself and not allowing me to start the car for at least 10 minutes ( the time it takes the system to recycle itself). In adddition, my door pannels coverings are all coming separated accross the top of of them, again do to the cost, I have failed to replace them. Unfortunatly this happened before I knew that so many people where having problems with the Oldsmobile Aleros, so I did not retain the old parts. It was Friday, May 9, 2003 when this cruise control issue occurred.
#13 - Cruise Control problem of the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero
The car is a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 1G3NL52T0Y_. This documents an ongoing scenario regarding the cruise control switch, p/n spo 022608614. On 1/25/01 had the switch replaced [woodard chev, fairfield, CA] because the switch was inoperative . The same switch was inoperative after a vehicle service on 5/17/02 [pearson auto, sunnyvale, CA]. I have not replaced the switch for a 3rd time, because I feel this switch will fail after another engine service activity. I do not want to continue to pay for faulty designed parts, or pay for service inadequacies which lend to other component failures. This switch appears to be faulty in that the part has a short service life, or there is a flaw in the service process which ultimately renders the switch inoperative. Would like this remedied. Thank you!. The failure date was Nov. 7, 2004.
