#1 - Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2008 Saturn VUE
The car was a 2008 Saturn Vue. The vehicle has 87,000 miles on it and has always been serviced at dealership. While driving thru a parking lot I felt it shift hard. It drove fine for a few miles, then while in residential area I heard a squealing noise. I stopped and turned off vehicle. Turned it back on and it would not go in reverse. Waited about 30 minutes turned it on again and it would go in reverse but not drive. Waited again for 30 minutes and started it again and it would not go in any gear. There should not be transmission problems at 87,000 on a one owner, well maintained vehicle. The dealership kept my vehicle for 26 days before returning it. Gm customer service was not helpful and very hard to deal with. There is obviously a known issue with this transmission. The reason for the 26 day delay is because they had so many in for repairs. While the 87,000 miles was inside the mileage warranty, the vehicle was out of warranty by time. 3. It was Saturday, June 29, 2013 when this transmission not go into gear issue happened.

#2 - Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE
The car is a 2003 Saturn Vue. This is the second complaint I have had to file. This car keeps breaking down on me and it is not even one year old! on 1/12/04 I needed to drive to rocky mount, nc then on to roanoke rapids, nc school. After arriving in rocky mount, my car would not go into gear, but started fine. When I attempted to put the car in gear the care stalled and turned off. I then attempted to start my car again and place it into gear one more time. It started and went into gear and seemed to drive fine. I called Saturn of greenville and they told me that the battery is likely to be the problem and to not turn my car off for one hour, I then stated that I would continue to drive to roanoke rapids. After arriving at my final destination, my car again stalled and turned off when I placed it into gear. I had to get my car towed and get a rental car which were both huge inconveniences to me. Finally, on 1/16/04, I called Saturn to find out what was wrong with my car and they said that air was trapped in the transmission line and that during the repair process, damage was done to a drain bolt ("stripped"). I was then told I could pick my car up on 1/17/04. After getting my car back, it is still making a grinding noise in the steering column when I turn the steering wheel, it makes weird noises constantly, and the rpms are messed up. They rev up when I tap the pedal, but when I need to accelerate, they do nothing. Something is seriously wrong with the Saturn Vue and their transmissions need to be recalled!. This transmission not go into gear problem happened on Monday, Jan. 12, 2004.

#3 - Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE
The vehicle was a 2003 Saturn Vue. On 11/19/2004 29,021 miles. Noise in engine area. Saturn replaced transmission fluid. Was told if it happened again would have to replace transmission. 9/12/2005 61,695 miles. Car wouldn't go when put into gear. All gears were tried. Contacted Saturn was told to get it towed in and they would inspect it. Brought to attention that the letter I received about the vti transmission having problems and again was told it was my responsibility to have car towed in. Also had to rent my own car. Was reimbursed but only for a small portion on the rental car cost and nothing for the tow. Finally got my car back on 9/21/2005. 5/31/2006 89,412 miles. Again car would not go into gear. Took it to a transmission specialist as I will not go back to Saturn. Another transmission was put in another vti as no other transmission can be put in this car. This one at my expense. 9/26/2006 105,000. Car lost power on a canyon road had to pull over and be towed. Was told transmission overheated and was now running fine. 2/8/2007 117,000 miles. Here we go again the transmission needs to be replaced again. When will a recall be issued. How many people need to complain about this unsafe and shoddy transmission. Please help. I cannot afford another transmission. This transmission not go into gear issue occurred Nov. 19, 2004.

#9 - Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE
My 2003 Saturn Vue seems to be having transmission problems. It is slow to start, lack of power, and have noticed while in gear rpm's up to 5000 - 6000. After it sits it seems to be able to change gears but rpm's still too high when it does shift. I took it to one shop that was not willing to work on it because they were not familiar enough with Saturns, he did tell me that they ran a diagnostics test and it came back with a "transmission code". It is now at another shop for further diagnosis. This issue happened on Feb. 4, 2011.
#10 - Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem of the 2002 Saturn VUE
The car was a 2002 Saturn Vue. I was driving home from night classes one night and my car would start to shake at the stop light (while idling) when I proceeded to go the car would not go into gear and would putt through the intersections. As I was driving home I got stuck in the middle of an intersection with oncoming traffic. This got worse as I drove and I prayed all the way home that I would not encounter another red light. When I got home I remembered that Saturn had sent me a letter stating that " this letter is intended to make you aware that some 2002 model year Saturn Vue vehicles, equipped with a vti, may exhibit excessive noise or reduced performance. " so they are aware that their transmissions are faulty. If you google "2002 Saturn Vue transmissions" you will find a multitude of other customer complaints about the same issue. If this had of happened a day earlier my children and I could have been impacted and died due to the faulty transmission. I still owe 7000. 00 on this car and it will cost almost that much to replace. If Saturn or gm knows about this problem they should be willing to fix it, unfortunately they are not. This transmission not go into gear problem happened on Wednesday, November 3, 2010.
