My rack and pinion was replaced under warranty 8/2010 at 30,000 it was making a zipping noise. A year later at 47,000 the same problem has happened and Suzuki refuses to cover the 1000. 00 repair. I have called numerous times with no help. I am outraged because this problem is known to Suzuki and they dont care! even the dealership has told me that they have repaired this many times in other Suzuki Xl7 with the same issue. Suzuki claims the car is still safe and it is only a noise issue but I dont feel safe, its the steering!! I guess they expect us to keep dishing out money for something that is known faulty and obviously keeps reoccuring. It is also obvious the repairs are being done with the same faulty part the car was manufactured. Suzuki needs to step up to the plate and take responsibility for there mistake.

I purchased a 2007 Suzuki Xl7 brand new, I have owned the car aprx 2 1/2 years. The power steering started making a noise and I assumed the power steering pump was going out on the vehicle. Since I do alot of traveling the car is not under warranty. I had it checked out by a local mechanic and was told it was the rack and pinion that needed to replaced and would cost aprx $1000. 00 but he could not get the part. I then called the local dealership and was told the part would cost aprx $600. 00 but it was out of stock and on back order and they had no idea when it would be available. I then called Suzuki corporation and was told the part was out of stock and on back order and they had no idea when it would be available. This has been going on for over a month and all I can get from anyone is the part is not available. The parts manager told me that a recall should be done because there was alot of trouble being reported. The Suzuki rep has not helped any. I am paying for a car that does not need to be driven and the manufacturer cannot even supply the part that needs to be corrected. What if you are driving down the road and the steering either goes out or shuts down and someone is killed, what then maybe a recall. Who wants to pay for a vehicle that you can't even get a part for repairs. All vacation plans have had to go on hold not knowing if money can be refunded or what is going to happen if the manufacturer cannot get the part then what are you supposed to do to get repairs performed.
