I own a 2016 Acura Ilx and recently discovered multiple federally mandated safety recalls affecting my vehicle, including a brake master cylinder recall, fuel pump recall, driveshaft separation recall, and takata airbag recall. I have owned this vehicle for over seven years and was never notified by mail or otherwise at my correct address that these safety recalls existed. One recall is currently active, but the dealership advised they cannot perform the repair due to parts unavailability until March, leaving me to operate a vehicle with a known brake-related safety defect. The remaining recalls are listed as not active, yet were never completed, and the dealer refused to perform them. I am concerned that required safety defects were not properly communicated or remedied, placing me and others at risk.

I am submitting this complaint regarding a 2021 Acura Ilx (VIN: 19ude2f7xma000866) that has been unreleasable for an extended period due to manufacturer inability to supply a required safety component. The vehicle was involved in an accident on July 6, 2025 and delivered to caliber collision in corpus christi, texas. All accident-related repairs have been completed. However, the vehicle cannot be released because a required airbag and/or airbag module is unavailable. American Honda motor company, inc. Has advised that the safety component is unavailable to be sold and that no estimated time of availability exists. Due to the safety nature of the missing component, the repair facility has confirmed the vehicle cannot be legally or safely released. The delay is no longer accident-related and is solely due to manufacturer unavailability of a safety-critical, non-cosmetic part. I have requested interim solutions including buyback, rental assistance, or a dealership loaner, and no temporary or permanent solution has been provided. This complaint is submitted to document manufacturer inability to supply a required safety component resulting in extended loss of vehicle use.

Takata front passenger side ceiling airbag and front passenger seat airbag deployed without impact or collision after I left my garage and drove less than a quarter of a mile. There was an excessive heat warning and higher-than-average humidity. I suffered auditory injuries due to the high-decibel explosion the takata airbags produced in the sealed cab of my car. My insurance has ruled my vehicle a total loss (with no fault of my own). Still, I have yet to accept the insurance's total loss offer, and I wanted to provide an opportunity for further inspection of the takata airbag system to help this ongoing crisis further. Two Acura representatives called after I registered my airbag deployment on Honda's website. The first representative treated me, "I can have you arrested. " during our phone conversation on July 12th, 2023. The second representative requested that I turn over my vehicle to Acura "so we can do our internal investigation. " I declined, and his rebuttal was to take my car from the bank since there was a lien on it. I replied that my vehicle has no lien; it's paid in full. My insurance company initially told me they were going to inspect the vehicle. However, I was offered a total loss settlement within 48 hours. I've requested an inspection report multiple times for the cause, but my insurance company has not provided me with anything other than a total loss, with "no fault of my own report. " there were no warning lamps, messages, or anything to alert me before the faulty deployment of the airbags. No passenger was seated in the passenger seat at the time of this incident.

Noticed loss of power, car would randomly go into limp mode while driving, I’d have to pull off to the side and restart the vehicle. Sometimes would hesitate or jerk. (this happened on the free way since I’m frequently on them) driveshaft feels likes it’s not performing 100%.

The contact owns a 2013 Acura Ilx . The contact stated that while, driving approximately 40 mph the vehicle in front of her suddenly stopped. The driver depressed the brake pedal however, was unable to stop in time and crashed into the rear of a unknown Audi. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries to chest neck and head. The driver believes the impact knocked her unconscious. The contact stated she was in pain and had to seek medical attention. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire. The vehicle was towed to an independent lot. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however, no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 91,000. The insurance company deemed vehicle a total loss.

The contact owns a 2021acura Ilx. The contact stated while attempting to park the vehicle, the airbag deployed without warning which resulted in the contact crashing into a pole. The contact sustained a hurt knee, and headaches and sought medical treatment. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was awaiting repairs. The contact stated no warning lights was illuminated. The manufacturer was informed of failure and is awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

My airbag deflator every year has a malfunction and I can't pass my inspection. This is the 3rd year in a row that this happens to me. No accident, as soon as car starts up asks to check airbag system.

Recall on airbags 3/14/2019 and I purchased car used 4/17/2019 not knowing about the recall. Fuel pump failure causing car not to start. Mechanic found it burned.

There were two different times my Acura 2013 Ilx was involved in two different accidents and the airbags didn’t deploy. 1. Back on 4/2018 brakes didn’t respond properly, then ceased to another vehicle and airbags didn’t deployed. No major injuries, but high bills. 2. January 2019, my husband was rear ended by an Audi, was sent to the opposite side of the street, car was total loss, airbags never deployed. He suffered major injuries, couldn’t walk for two months, used a walker after that for over two years, suffered dislocated discs, neck and his whole body is not the same anymore. Can’t tell anymore how many procedures he has been through.

The light on my 2013 Ilx are being foggy and show diminish light . Door latch acts up sometimes as well- it lock and then it does not unlock. Passenger airbag always is out of wack- it says that they are off then on. . .

Takarta airbag. I have no information that the airbag in my car was fixed. I am also having problems with my car's power. It moves so slow when pulling off. I have also had problems with my driver's side window. You can hear wind and what appears to be a plastic sound when you get up to speeds over 20 miles per hour. I have gotten notification that my car has a recall on the airbags and the lights are defective. I do not trust macchurchill because I have been deceived by this company. Please help. 0909.
