Tank Assembly problem #1

Gas tank of our 1997 Acura Integra developed a leak at the seam. No corrosion noted. No damage to tank had occurred. The car is in overall good condition. There are no pending recalls or complaints for this make/model that we could locate. This seems like an unusual and unsafe occurrence. We have no options (according to the dealer or Acura's national office) but to replace the tank at a cost of $900 plus.
