Electrical System problem #1

Our infotainment system stopped working and when we took it one of Acura’s authorized dealers they told us that back half of the car is flooded and that has shot down all the electronics including the infotainment system. They also gave me a bill of $10k usd to fix the leak and replaced damaged electronics. Their argument is that the car was parked outside and that caused this issue. This has never come up in any of our previous maintenance visits where Acura certified dealerships always check our car and tell us that everything is okay.

Electrical System problem #2

I was driving in the far right lane on the van wyck expressway when suddenly my steering wheel locked up on me along with the following error messages displayed on the odometer: 1. Collision mitigation braking system problem. See your dealer 2. Road departure mitigation problem. See your dealer 3. Low speed braking control problem. See your dealer. 4. Electric power steering problem. Steering assist not available. Do not drive. 5. All wheel drive system problem. Only front wheels may be powered. See your dealer. 6. Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer. 7. Brake hold problem. Apply brake when stopped. See your dealer. 8. Vehicle stability assist system problem. Reduced traction and handling. See your dealer. 9. Hill start assist problem. Vehicle may roll upon brake release. See your dealer. Thankfully I was approaching an exit ramp and I was able to steer my Mdx safely off the expressway. I parked my car on the service road, turned my hazards on and then turned the car off. When I restarted the car the error messages were gone and power steering worked as if nothing happened. Acura will be hearing from me I could’ve been in a serious accident.

Electrical System problem #3

The start/stop switch stalls the vehicle and will not restart after several tries for up to 5 minutes. We get a message during this time to "continue to drive, depress brake pedal and push switch" and even after then it still will not start for several tries. This has happened several times. One time my wife was on a heavily traveled two lane farm road at a four-way stop and it did it and was almost hit by 18 wheelers trying to navigate around her. This was not only a safety issue for her but also those trying to get around her with all the traffic coming in all direction. Took back to the dealer but it did not do it while they tried to recreate the issue. No warnings prior to the issue of dying and not re-starting. This was the latest occurrence, it had happened a couple of times before.

Electrical System problem #4

Vehicle will suddenly shut the engine off and shift into park, even when the auto engine shut off is not active. Typically happens when stopped at a stop light. You will feel the engine shut off, and the car shift into park. It is very scary and unsafe. It has also caused the vehicle to shut off and shift into neutral while it was moving, and the vehicle gave a transmission warning. It sounds very similar to NHTSA recall 25v-031, however, my vehicle was not included in the recall as it is not a type s. I took it to the dealership and they said that Acura has opened an investigation due to the number of complaints, but there is no solution yet. I have not other option but to dry the vehicle, but I am worried that it is unsafe and not good for the vehicle to keep stalling the way it is.

Electrical System problem #5

The contact owns a 2024 Acura Mdx. The contact stated while driving approximately 10-15 mph and coming off an off-ramp, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact noticed that the instrument panel had flashed red. The contact called for aaa roadside assistance. The contact stated that aaa roadside assistance arrived on the scene and inspected the vehicle and became aware of corrosion on the copper wire terminal connected to the battery. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,000.

Electrical System problem #6

I was lightly stepped on the gas coming off a complete stop with no cars in front of me. The automatic breaking came on hard and a sensor flashed to brake as if I was going to hit someone but there was nobody in front of me. The sensor alert system was turned off 15min prior as I had gone through a car wash. This is the first time this has happened but unknown why. Had there been a car behind me, I may have been hit.

Electrical System problem #7

Electrical, brake and car acceleration problems.

Electrical System problem #8

The contact owns a 2024 Acura Mdx. The contact stated that when the vehicle was cold started, the rearview camera delayed in showing an image after the transmission was shifted into reverse(r). Additionally, the contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the instrument cluster indicated that the navigational system and driving modes were not engaged. The contact stated that the 360-degree camera and the suspension mode control were inoperable. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer who diagnosed that several electrical wiring harnesses needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failures reoccurred, and that there was a warning with a yellow dot indicating that the "bin/wifi/navsys” was inoperable. The contact took the vehicle back to the same dealer and the contact was informed that the wiring harness needed to be ordered. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,873.

Electrical System problem #9

The contact owns a 2024 Acura Mdx. The contact stated the messages, "parking sensor failure, see the dealer," and the "brake performance failure, (brakes may be reduced, see dealer" messages illuminated. The front collision sensor would alarm the driver when there was no cause for the sensor to activate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who reset the computer systems and replaced the front bumper sensor. After having the vehicle repaired while the brakes were applied, the brake hold would fail, and the brakes would release. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, kearny mesa Acura, 5202 kearny mesa rd, san diego, CA 92111, who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The contact did notice that the tires were out of alignment; however, as a result, the brake failure no longer occurred. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle would surge forward as if it were going from 1st to 3rd gear immediately, and while decelerating to come to a stop. While driving approximately 5 mph in a parking lot, the vehicle suddenly felt as if shifted to 3rd gear. The driver had to immediately press the brakes to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a third dealer, Acura of escondido, 1502 auto park way n, escondido, CA 92029, the dealer who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failures and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 9,747.

Electrical System problem #10

I have attached all my service records from Honda/Acura and the dealership motorworld which is located in wilkes barre, PA I had my first issue with the car in January 2024 with sensors malfunctioning. They we replaced a few times, repeated issue I had other issues that didn't replicate themself or show as an error code when I brought the car in. Issue accelerating or inability to accelerate on the highway in a middle lane w/ a tractor trailer on each side. One trying to merge into my lane. Noisy brakes, low breaks etc fast forward to March 2025, my number one complaint about these sensor issues is they would malfunction on me one day when I was driving. And I was always assured by the dealership it was good, the car was good, I was good. Acura felt the same. Well in April my steering malfunctioned while driving, the steering wheel locked as I was breaking for a red light, and I drifted off the road. Turns out my steering rack needed to replaced. It was fixed on 4/4 then on [xxx] with my children in the car, it did the same thing. Now they tell me it is the eps, electric power steering. This car spends more time on [xxx] and one day this is going to happen on the interstate and there will be fatalities. I have been screaming at Acura and the motorworld for months. Acura will not respond to emails (which I have kept) and every time I call the case manager assigned to me is not available. The few times months ago I did speak to someone they tell me the same things the automated email I get once in while that say my case is under review. All dates of occurrence and repair are in the service records I attached. They still have my car today, 5/8/25 so I do not have those to attach.
