1 Wheel problem of the 2025 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 08/24/2024

On 8/24, I purchased an Acura Mdx 2025 technology package. We drove home from the dealer, my mother heard a rattling noise but thought it was the car seat making the noise. The next day,I heard the noise again,it was coming from the right, rear back,I checked, and saw the wheel liner loose and thought the noise was being cause by a loose liner. My mother said we had to go back to the dealer on 8/31 to pick up the wheel lock and weather mats and we would have them check the liner. As the week went by,the noise was more often. On the way to the dealer, we could hear the noise after every bump or turning right. We gave this information to the dealer,we said we thought it was a loose liner but were not sure anymore as the rattling was more often. We did not feel safe driving home. They provided us a loaner and said they would look into it. On 9/4 they sent a text that the rear sway bar link was faulty, the part was ordered and the car should be ready by Friday. My mom emailed them to ask if by faulty, they meant it was loose or broken, they checked and said it was broken. It was expressed to them that this was concerning because it was a brand new vehicle, that we felt blessed that we decided to leave the car,had we driven back home, god knows what could have happened since a broken link can cause you to lose control and get into an accident. We asked if they would report it to the manufacturer or NHTSA? they did not reply. But text a day after stating that we must have gone through a pothole at high speed or hit something, and we were liable for the cost. After my mother sent an email and spoke with them saying that if it was not caused by us,that if the issue was there, was it caused during transporting the car from the manufacturer to the dealer?they said that the car was fixed and there would be no charge but kept insisting that we were at fault, that it happens alot, where people walk out of the dealer and come back with something broken the next day. (more to say but no space).

2 Wheel problem of the 2022 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 05/22/2024

2022 Mdx type s. So far I have replaced one tire and two rims. Air suspension does not absorb any road hazard. Pot holes or expansion cracks the front end dives into them letting the tires and rims absorb the impact. Thank goodness no high speed loss of tire pressure.

3 Wheel problem of the 2024 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 03/22/2024

Unknown. Constant creaking and rubbing sound when turning wheel and tires. Acura refuses to look into it more. Not a normal sound for a car less than two years old. Continues to happen everyday since two eeeks after I bought car. Have taken it to Acura multiple times for weeks at a time.

4 Wheel problem of the 2023 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 09/03/2023

When driving to town with family, drove over train tracks and all warning lights on dash came on and power steering was lost. I was going about 30 mpg and barely able to steer the vehicle to shoulder of road in a populated neighborhood. My wife and kids were really scared and I was glad this didn't happen in a much busier area. The warning lights were: adaptive cruise control, parking brake, lane keep assist, all wheel drive, electric power steering, collision mitigation, trailer stability assist, and low speed breaking. Reading multiple reports online (mdxers. Org, reddit. Com etc. ), others have reported the same failure and issues with their 2022/2023 Mdx, likely being caused by a faulty wheel speed sensor. If my wife was diving I would fear she would be unable to steer the vehicle to safety. I have not taken to the dealer yet.

Failure Date: 05/20/2021

When making a sharp turn on hot days the car makes a grinding noise like something is grabbing the tire. It slows the car, hands the steering wheel and then the vsa hazard light comes on. It is a recurring issue and mechanics have not been able to diagnose.

I have a 2001 Mdx with rear subframe bushing bolts that are rusted out and disconnected from the body. The back end has been clunking. The rear subframe bolts that goes through the bushing has disconnected from the body from what looks like rusted out connectors or maybe the body itself.

9 Wheel problem of the 2017 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 07/24/2020

The certified pre-owned (cpo) 2017 Acura Mdx I purchased ion 07/24/20 from davis Acura in langhorne, PA should not be classified as a cpo! I paid my automotive repair shop of 20 years that maintained my Lexus suvs to do their own 83-point detailed inspection on the Acura Mdx. I was shocked in their reporting wheel alignment needed - recommended left rear tire edge wear & body evidence of previous accident damage to rear bumper, right front door, left side doors, left rear quarter panel & left front fender. I was informed that at least 50% of SUV has been repainted & there was dirt underneath the paint. Was this formerly leased SUV in an accident that went unreported with clean carfax and auto check reports? the left door exterior chrome door handle was also replaced by dealership but no reason is listed as to why replaced. There are now issues with: exposed airbag is it the original or was it replaced?; tire pressure varies (+/- 7 or 8 ) in the rear left tire that has been looked at by my local Acura dealer two times in one week & the 3rd visit will be to replace the tpms sensors in a car with only 16,000 miles?; the defroster is not fully working in the left passenger window and the misalignment of the lift gate is a concern because it prevents the a/c or heat from working effectively in the 2nd & 3rd row, there is rain water sitting on the inside of the SUV that remains for hours. Could it mold or cause damage to the rear electric lighting components? how does the lift gate trunk door misalign if it wasn't in an accident? if the lift gate trunk door is misaligned, why was this SUV sold as a cpo & not used? I do not feel comfortable driving the SUV. I have yet to receive a call back by phone from Acura dealership owner in 4 weeks and/or from the Acura customer care specialist in the last 10 days about my case filed. Can NHTSA inspect SUV for damage & repainting?.

12 Wheel problem of the 2001 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 09/24/2019

Travelling on city street tire came off with my 2 year old son and 14 year old brother in-law with me in the car. Purchased vehicle from travis @ kts auto sales on 09/23/19 on 09/24/19 the car was considered unsafe and basically not driveable. . Prior to my purchase of the vehicle travis told me he had the vehicle 3 weeks and counting and had been commuting his son back and forth to school and told me for sure the vehicle ran good and drove good. Well it dont and hasnt since the day after I purchased it. The only thing he will and has offered or tried to do to make it right is to trade it back for an old Honda crv in possibly worse condition and way less in value than the vehicle I paid for, I have 3 children ( and travis knows I do) so I took the Honda crv on a test drive anyways considering I have kids and really need a running and driving car and stopped bye my mechanic to take a quick look at it and he did and said absolutely not that he wouldn't not trade the original one we bought for the Honda crv and said if it were him he wouldn't even pay scrap value for the crv it was rusted all the way around the entire car inderneath and around my mechanic said it was very unsafe that if we were to barely get hit or hit something it would crumble and fall apart and that this vehicle he was trying to give me to replace another unsafe vehicle would be even more dangerous than the 1st vehicle was. Also travis from kts lied when he said he had driven the car 3 weeks+ because I got to looking in to see how often vehicle was maintained and this and that found out he only had it 12 days befor selling the vehicle to me (that's not even 2 weeks!!).

13 Wheel problem of the 2009 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 06/30/2019

On June 30th 2019 after leaving from work I was on my way to pier 1 which is approximately 2 miles away. I turned into the parking lot parked in front of pier 1 and all of a sudden my car accelerated out of control. It jumped the curb crashed through pier 1 window into the store and didn't stop until it hit a wall. At this time I'm in shock glass is every where and I could move I hear people in the background telling me to get out of the car but I was frozen from what just happened. I just want to hold Acura accountable because I see this has happened to several people.

14 Wheel problem of the 2017 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 05/08/2019

My 2017 Acura Mdx has had all service, including voluntary early replacement of oem tires with better hydroplaning tires, at the same Acura dealership where it was purchased new. Has had all routine maintenance there. No extreme weather, no extreme driving, no floods or water exposure, no accidents, only typical suburban driving in mid-atlantic USA, no wheel damage from anything I'm aware of. Problem rims are damaged with heavy scratches, at least one one has a crack, rear two show corrosion close to where they attach to the axle. Either a major manufacturing defect, some kind of mishap at the dealership, or a combination is all I can think of. Just noticed this today but the corrosion has obviously been going on a while. Car was most recently serviced within the past month, no one mentioned this.

15 Wheel problem of the 2019 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 04/26/2019

Their inflatable sealant does not work. We were on the road and had a flat, pulled over got the compressor out hooked to flat all that happened was air blowing out the hole in the tire. By the grace of god a man stopped and he was a tire repair man that was going to acall on a big truck tire problem he patched our tire and inflated it and we were on our way home. What if he did not come along, we were in an area with poor phone reception, my wife finally got with roadside assistance and they were going to send someone to tow it to closest dealership. My wife told them that the tire man had solved the tire problem but not to close this complaint out. This could have been a big problem, every vehicle should come with a spare tire. What if it is late at night and there is no phone reception????.

16 Wheel problem of the 2018 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 02/03/2019

I had leak in my passenger side rear tire. When changing I noticed the spare is attached to the under carriage of my vehicle. I think this poses a safety hazard because over time because of weather the hardware that anchors the tire could fail. If that happens the tire could come lose causing an accident. Acura need to reassses the placement of their spare tire.

Moderate steering wheel vibration still remained when braking between 58-62 mph. At approximately 2,400 miles, steering wheel began vibrating violently again when braking between 58-62 mph. The dealership replaced front rotors and rotated tires. At approximately 3,000 miles, steering wheel began vibrating violently again when braking between 55-65 mph.

18 Wheel problem of the 2016 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 12/28/2017

Spare tire ,as mounted in rear under vehicle, is showing excessive wear on side wall the wear marks as rubbing through the sidewall which is the weakest part on the tire and I am afraid to use it. The tire has never been used. I have checked the pressure 3 times since I purchased the vehicle new and there are three wear marks from the storage area where the tire is kept. Also when I purchased the vehicle the salesman made a big deal about the rearview mirrors automatically aiming down as the car is put in reverse. This safety feature allows the driver to see what is on the ground near the rear tires when backing up. After approximately one year the rearview mirrors no longer aimed down. The dealer now says that is vehicle never did this and I have asked about it at 3 different service appointments. Also about the spare tire wear , the dealer said "don't worry about it", after I complained about it. Ordi casement # 11194881 no accident or injury has occurred but the complaint is proactive prevention since the potential for an accident or injury is possible. . Also the rearview mirror problem has been around since 2010 based on reading Acura blogs posted by owners.

24 Wheel problem of the 2012 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 02/03/2014

I was driving on a local side street at about 20 mph when suddenly my car veered off the road and swerved into a parked car causing moderate damage to the driver side rear fender of the parked car. My car sustained major damage - to the passenger side on the front. Also, the passenger side front wheel came off and rolled a little away before coming to a stop. I pulled the car over and parked it. Even with the parking brake on, the car was rolling a little till a bystander put a couple of blocks under the rear tires to stop the car. The road was clear and didn't have any pot holes or bad weather. We bought the car in Sep 2012 and it has about 13 - 14000 miles.

25 Wheel problem of the 2014 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 09/16/2013

I have a major safety issue with my 6 month old Mdx (less than 5000 miles). The car is making grinding noises and vibrates, intermittently. The dealer has dismissed my claims and made minor modifications with insulation, and hoodclips. Nothing has been done to determine the cause of the problem and they pretend that there is nothing wrong, even though the service manager has heard it on more than one occassion. The care has been brought to the dealership four times over the course of the past 6 months and they have held my car in service for over 30 days. When we attempted to pick up the car last night, there was now a new extremely loud noise with every time I attempted to break. The on-duty sales manager heard the noise and insisted that I leave the car for service. Today, the dealership is refusing to address this new issue, and still ignoring the old issue, which was caused while my car was in their service department for the past month. The car is unsafe to drive and I feel taken advantage of by Acura. The dealership is also saying "their hands are tied. " I have attempted to call their national customer service line and they have given me the run around, insisting that all of their supervisors and case manager are in meetings. How do I address this issue? please help in this matter. If you read on-line many other people are having issues with the newly redesigned 2014 Mdx, produced at a new alabama plant. Acura needs to recall this model, before people are killed on the road.

26 Wheel problem of the 2005 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 04/16/2013

I am writing because I just received a safety recall notice from Acura relating NHTSA action number : ea13002. My daughter was involved in an accident (she's ok!) where she had to swerve to avoid an oncoming car that had drifted into her lane rounding a left hand bend. Our 2005 Acura Mdx went out of control despite her attempts to control the vehicle, which she did after it had blown out two tires. Could her braking and swerving result in the subsequent over correction of our Mdx and be the result of the vehicle stability assist control module malfunctioning as described in the recall notice from Acura.

27 Wheel problem of the 2008 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 02/08/2013

The vehicle was moving around 15 mph in a snowing afternoon on a local road. Suddenly, the vehicle slipped toward the curb of the road. The driver tried to steer the vehicle away from the curb but failed. The right front wheel hit the curb and stopped the vehicle. The inner tie rod and the outer tie rod of the right front wheel disconnected from each other. The right front tire was intact. The body of the vehicle was intact. The vehicle was not steerable anymore. After checking up the vehicle, the dealership identified that the connecting rod between the inner tie rod and the outer tie rod was bended and completely broken. The dealership refused to cover the repair under warranty.

28 Wheel problem of the 2009 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 11/03/2012

I purchased an Acura certified 2009 Mdx base with bridgestone dueler h/l 400 tires on it. The quality of bridgestone tires were unacceptable. These tires had no grip on wet road and road covered with light snow. There were multiple cases when my all wheel drive skidded on the highway during lane change. Due to safety concerns, I had to replace all four tires within a few months of purchasing the vehicle. Acura should not use bridgestone tires in its vehicles. Also, firestone/bridgestone should recall these tires and refund money for the replacement cost of my tires. Will appreciate if you please look into this issue.

29 Wheel problem of the 2007 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 05/04/2012

Recently I had to change my wife's car tire due to a flat. I used the factory Acura scissor jack to do it. While I had stepped away from the jack stand to get the spare tire, the jack had collapsed and essentially the metal structure of the jack had folded a bit. The car slammed to the ground with my wife and 1 year old inside the car (it was raining out). I contacted Acura support about having them simply replace the unusable jack stand with a new one. They politely told me to pound sand. I have some pics of the bent jack that I can share. I had contacted the us consumer product safety commission and they recommended I file a complaint with the NHTSA.

30 Wheel problem of the 2011 Acura MDX

Failure Date: 07/16/2011

I lease a 20111 Acura SUV Mdx vehicle from the karen bradley dealership in wood bridge virginia on the 15 July 2011. After picking up the vehicle, while driving on my way home I felt vibration in the steering wheel and the steering wheel felt loose. I called the sales person to report the matter he told me to bring the vehicle in the next day 16 July 2011 test drive another new Mdx and compare it to mine, I did so and it did not have any vibration nor was the steering wheel looose. The service person checked the tire pressure on my vehicle and said there you go it is good/fix now. The problem was not fixed. I called the sales person again to inform him that the problem was not fixed he said that it was too late the service shop is closed and will not be opened until Monday 18 July 2011. He told me to bring the vehicle in on the 18 July 2011. I took the vehicle in on 18 July 2011 they did the repair and said it is fixed unfortunately the problem was not fixed. I took the vehicle in on 19 July 2011 this is the third time they did the repair and said it is fixed unfortunately the problem was not fixed. They told me they need more time to assess the vehicle and do the repair. They asked me to bring the vehicle in on 23 July 2011, this is the fourth time. They gave me the most disgusting unsafe vehicle to drive as a loaner vehicle while fixing my vehicle. They kept the vehicle until the 28 July 2011. On the 28 July 2011 they called me to come and picked up my vehicle and told me that the problem was fixed. The problem is not fixed I made several attempts to contact the sales person and the service person; I also send the sales person several texts messages neither of them returned my call. My family and I are in fear, traumatized, and afraid to use and ride in this vehicle this is a safety issue and I am requesting that the vehicle be exchange or my money back.
