Shattered back windshield is common but not recalled. Also another issue I am having is a jammed seatbelt. Acura currently told me my windshield is not covered because it’s a canadian car. Wondering if my seatbelt issue will be resolved or not too because it’s also a canadian car. .
I have been trying to get my vehicle repaired for over a year in response to recall number 24v-064 with no success. The vehicle manufacturer is not providing the required parts to the dealership to address this recall from early 2024. I think additional action needs to be taken against the manufacturer to drive improved behaviour to address safety recall issues in a timely manner.
Complaint about failure to execute recall and lack of solutions from the official dealer I, [xxx] , owner of a 2021 Acura Rdx, VIN: [xxx] , am filing a complaint regarding the inadequate execution of a recall and the lack of solutions from the official dealer. What component or system failed or malfunctioned? the issue concerns the seat weight sensor, which is supposed to be replaced as part of the recall. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? due to the malfunction of the mentioned component, the safety of passengers could be compromised, especially in the case of an emergency, where this component plays an important role in the safety system. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? the official dealer confirmed the need for the recall, but refuses to perform the replacement, citing the unavailability of necessary parts and offering no alternative solutions. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? the vehicle was registered for the recall, but a specific inspection by the manufacturer has not taken place. The contact owns a 2024 Acura Rdx. The contact stated that while the child was seated in the rear drivers seat, the seatbelt buckle locking mechanism had malfunctioned. The contact was unable to unlatch the seat belt buckle and eventually scissors were used to cut the the seat belt strap in order to free the child. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 5,000.
Rear ended other vehicle going about 40 plus miles per hour, then another vehicle rear ended me. Upon impact ( which I have pictures of) my driver side seatbelt released completely unbuckled & dangling , my dash lit up & said airbags deployed. But no airbags deployed. In turn upon impact my sternum hit my steering wheel. It busted the radiator so now my car will not even turn on. It is at a collision center awaiting adjuster inspection. Since the radiator busted the other vehicle & myself couldn’t tell if it was steam or smoke coming from the engine. So I turned the car off, it has never turned back on since.
The "airbag is turned off" warning light for the front passenger seat is lit (on) while an adult is sitting in the front passenger with the seat belt latched. This has happened numerous times since I purchased this vehicle. . I have reported this to the Acura dealer where I purchased the vehicle and they said since they are unable to repeat the issue they can't do anything about it. In addition, when this issue is occurring the warning light on the dash and the audible bell regarding the seat belt being unlatched while the vehicle is in motion does not come on.

Not sure where to direct this, so please redirect if this is the wrong inbox. I recently went into a local service appointment to have our passenger seat belt buckle replaced at Acura concord. we had noticed that the belt was not seating securely in the buckle, and could be removed with minimal-to-moderate effort (would guess 15-30 lbs of force) - certainly not safe in a collision?. it started to stick intermittently, and slowly got worse over time until it got to a point that it was clearly unsafe. We were concerned and I proactively paid to have it replaced. the service technicians suspected that something might have entered the belt and was preventing the mechanism of working correctly. however, upon replacing the buckle, the service technician reported that the belt buckle had no foreign objects inside it, and appears to have been mechanically failing. This was alarming, and I quickly searched online to find the current seatbelt recall. however, my vehicle is not a part of that, but maybe should be given the technician's findings. the technician's report can be found through Acura of concord, and has a reference number of ro#203423 / tag# 172b. I asked the technician for the faulty belt and currently have it in my possession (pictures of it sticking are attached, this is the first and only time I've touched it since the appointment). please let us know, we'd like to make sure these vehicles are as safe as they can be for all purchasers. appreciate your time and attention here. .
The rear driver side seat belt has frayed repeatedly over the last 2 years. This puts my young child at risk of the seat belt failing in an accident. The seat belt has been replaced by the local Acura dealership 3 times, but the cause of the fray has not been identified. Fray #1 was first seen with a nuna rava child car seat installed in the forward facing configuration. The fray was in the upper section of the oe seat belt between the car pillar and where it exits the child car seat. It was replaced in March 2022. This was replaced on goodwill from bob lindsay Acura dealership. Fray #2 was noticed in the same location in the new (March 2022) seat belt and replaced in December 2022. This was replaced on goodwill from bob lindsay Acura dealership. Fray #3 was again noticed in the same place in the December 2022 seat belt and replaced in January 2023. This was replaced on goodwill from american Honda motor CO. , inc. The original thought was the tension from the car seat was causing the fray in the seat belt; however, the dealership and Honda provided no reason or explaination for why the belt was fraying or possible remedy solution beyond directly replacing the seat belt. The child has since outgrown the nuna rava child seat in January 2023 and is now a diono monterey high-back booster seat. This diono booster was installed at the same time as the January 2023 seat belt replacement. Fray #4 was seen in the January 2023 seat belt at the same general location as the previous frays on 8 June 2023.
Middle seatbelt won't latch.
Passenger side seat belt will not latch into place.
I purchased a 2010 Acura Rdx from car zone, located at 18690 van buren blvd I riverside, CA. Before the purchase, I addressed the tire pressure air light and the unsteadiness of the vehicle. There was also a recall on the vehicle in which the dealer did not fix. I took the car to metro Acura in montclair, CA for the recall on August 5th. I drove 3 blocks and the air bag safety light came on. I took it back to metro Acura on August 9th and they stated the air bag light had nothing to do with the recall. I filed a case with Acura , #09780205 on August 12th. At this point, no one wants to accept responsibility for the air bag maintenance. This should not become my problem because the air bag recall should've been addressed by the dealer before the purchase. Acura corporate and metro are pointing the finger at each other. This is a safety issue for anyone whom rides in the passenger front seat. At this point, I just want it fix before it becomes a liability. Please advise, who should be responsible for the resolution? thanks.
I parked and shut my car off at our local shoprite parking lot. I got out of the car and my son was yelling that he couldn't get out. The seatbelt had him tangled up. I took the latch off and tried to loosen the seat belt. He tried pulling the seat belt to loosen it nothing. I turned the car on to see if it would loosen that way nothing. I drove home. Everything we attempted the seat belt kept tightening. I tried pulling it over him under him took off his shoes and jeans. Remember it was unbuckled already. I got home and tried to unscrew the bolt that attached the seat belt to the car. Unfortunately, the bit wasn't long enough. At this point an hour passed of us trying everything possible to get him out. His stomach started hurting him. I had to cut the seatbelt. I was going to call the police but I'm very handy and I knew at this point I had tried everything possible plus my son was in pain, the seatbelt was hurting his stomach. I hope sharing this story helps other parents and if this happens to you please report it. Even if you are handy and know nothing can be done reporting it helps, this way it's not only your word. I believe something is very wrong with this seatbelt design. On another note, people might think my kid was jumping around creating havoc but my son is actually very reserved and quiet.
While parked with the engine off at the gas station my child attempted to exit the vehicle. Upon releasing the driver side back seat, the seat belt had my child entangled trying to get out of the car. The seat belt was unbuckled/unlatched yet it somehow entrapped my child . I was unable to loosen the seat belt and it continued to retract and tighten on my child. My child was also unable to loosen the seat belt which was wrapped around back and stomach causing pain and discomfort. My child was unable to sit or stand upright as I attempted to pull the seat belt overhead or below stomach; child was forced to remain in a squat-like position. I continued to pull at the top re-tractor in the hopes of it "giving" and loosening but the device failed to "override. " I immediately went to the local fire department where they tried, unsuccessfully, to loose the harness that was created by the seat belt, nor were they able to remove the child. The final decision was made, by the chief, to cut the seat belt in order to release the child. I believe that there is a device malfunction that is a grave safety risk of strangulation if not properly reviewed and replaced. I was expecting the belt to loosen after tugging at it and the fact that trained firefighters/paramedics couldn't pull it out is quite alarming.
Driver's seat belt often comes unlatched randomly while driving.
Rear seatbelts are not safe for children. There is a large gap between the seatbelt and the child (5 year old and 9 year old). For the 9 year old the seatbelt crosses his face. It is anchored too high and too far forward from the seat,. The seatbelt cannot be adjusted and the seatback cannot be adjusted. The Acura manual shows a picture of a gap and stated this is not safe (in an example when you have adjustable seats - to not adjust where it creates a big gap). When I discovered this after purchasing the car, the dealer would not let me leave until I put my 5 year old in a booster "with seatback" to hold the seatbelt in place due to the issue. Acura offered to give me money to buy 3 boosters with seatback to keep in the car in case I traveled with kids. They said it was a manufactured that way and they could not fix anything. The seatbelt adapters they want me to purchase are not for comfort but to safely be able to transport kids in my car.
I own a 2007 Acura Rdx. On April 13, 2015, my driver side seat belt did not retract, and therefore when I stepped out of car, the seat belt was lodged between the door, and the frame of car. Additional I lhave the same problem with middle passenger back seat. The seat belt in the back cannot be used because it does not retract. I called Acura and was told that the seat belt has a warrantee up to 15 years and or 150,000 miles. My car is covered, but when I took it to dealer on April 17, 2015, that to remove the seat belt the driver side door has to be broken, and that these costs will be charged to me. My Acura 2007 Rdx is also scheduled for inspection, which would result in a failure. Please assist me with this safety issue. Thank you.
The buckle stopped latching on the driver’s side seatbelt in September 2023. It would not ‘catch. ’ I was not able to use the seatbelt as it would not latch. I took it to my Acura dealer who replaced the defective buckle. I was at risk as I was driving without a seatbelt until my appointment. There were no warnings. Today I discovered that there is an active recall 23v158000 describing this same issue for both driver’s side and passenger side seatbelt buckles. My car, identified by its VIN, is not listed for the recall. However, the buckle issue as described in the recall is identical. I believe my passenger side buckle should also be replaced and I should be reimbursed for the cost of my repair to the driver’s side buckle. My VIN should be included in the safety recall. I have called the dealer who verified that my VIN was not included, although my problem was identical to the recall description. 2023-03-2023 23v158000.
The contact owns a 2008 Acura Rdx. The contact stated that while exiting the vehicle, the driver's side seat belt failed to retract properly after being unbuckled. In addition, the speedometer failed to properly display an accurate speed rate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis but they were unable to duplicate the problem. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Was sitting at a top light and car hit me from behind. My seat belt didn't stop me and hit my head and arm on the steering wheel. It did stop the passenger. Filed a complaint with Acura and they said the seat belt worked as designed. I am 5'10 so I do not sit close to the steering wheel. If the seat belt would have stopped me, I would have not slammed my head on the steering wheel and gotten a head injury.
