Two issues with this brand new Acura Rdx 2025: 1) herky/jerking brakes. Experienced this issue weeks after purchasing. Lots of vibration when applying brakes. . . . Happens often. Took car back to Acura dealership and they said brakes working as designed. 2) very soft /no tension in brake pedal. This issue arose within last few months. Press on brake pedal and often it goes to floor panel. Very concerning.
My 2022 Acura Rdx has premature wear at 22,000 miles for its front rotors and back rotors. The vehicle creates unusual vibration and noise when braking and I cannot drive it due to this noise . When I contacted the Acura/ technician they told me that new model of Acura Rdx has this problem especially during cold weather and its rotos wears due to new ceramic brake pads. The cost of replacing the front rotor and ceramic pad is about $1000 as per Acura and I cannot drive it unless I replace them all . Even if I replace them . The same problem will come again as the rotor and its pad are defective . I request you to solve this problem as the cost to maintain this vehicle is high due to this problem . Most rotors need replacement only after 70,000 miles. Thank you for hearing me.
Rear passenger side tire blew out while driving on interstate. Just before leaving the house it was inflated to 35 psi. After getting on interstate I received a low tire pressure indication. Initially it showed 17 psi. I slowed down and by the time I got to the next exit it went down to 0. I pulled until a parking lot and the tire had shredded off the rim. There were no holes or nails in the tire tread but appears to have blowout holes in the sidewall. The tires are continental crosscontact.
I was driving about 20 mph, on a city street, and I felt the car veering to the right. The next thing I knew I was side swiping a parked car and realized that I had no control over the steering. When I finally came to a stop and out of the way of traffic, several witnesses came over to make sure I was okay. Fortunately, I was, however, we all saw that the right front tire was perpendicular to the wheel well and the tie rod was broken in two. Witnesses, police officers who responded to the scene, and the aaa tow truck driver were shocked to see the defect in the tie rod, and all commented that had I been driving on a highway, I could have easily been severely injured or worse, or caused a fatal crash and harm to others. Thankfully that did not happen, but the fact that the tie rod broke in a relatively new car makes me extremely concerned about ever driving this car again, even if it is somehow repaired.
I purchased a 2010 Acura Rdx from car zone, located at 18690 van buren blvd I riverside, CA. Before the purchase, I addressed the tire pressure air light and the unsteadiness of the vehicle. There was also a recall on the vehicle in which the dealer did not fix. I took the car to metro Acura in montclair, CA for the recall on August 5th. I drove 3 blocks and the air bag safety light came on. I took it back to metro Acura on August 9th and they stated the air bag light had nothing to do with the recall. I filed a case with Acura , #09780205 on August 12th. At this point, no one wants to accept responsibility for the air bag maintenance. This should not become my problem because the air bag recall should've been addressed by the dealer before the purchase. Acura corporate and metro are pointing the finger at each other. This is a safety issue for anyone whom rides in the passenger front seat. At this point, I just want it fix before it becomes a liability. Please advise, who should be responsible for the resolution? thanks.
Takata recall: I have two conflicting reports from NHTSA. One states a recall date of 2/03/2016 (16v061000) on the airbags and the second report states there has not been any recalls. Which is correct?? also: equipment label recall #07v358000 recall date 8/13/2007.
An error message always comes on for "the brake system" & "tire pressure sensors". They become problematic when the temp outside drops to 20 and below. Living in connecticut during the winter time a lot of our friends and family members recognized this issue with their Acura Rdx's and mdx's. As soon as you turn the vehicle on the error messages engage and the brake pedal feels different from the normal. As soon as the car warms up or the outside temp goes up higher than 30 degrees it goes away. And while driving the vehicle took longer to stop and I had to stomp on the brake pedal hard (going 20mph).
I purchased the 2017 Acura Rdx, on March 20, 2017 with 20 miles. I noticed this past Saturday, June 24, 2017, that is rust in the exhaust area, around the wheels and other areas underneath the auto.
Acura Rdx has removed the Mini spare and provided a small air compressor. This is fine if you are low on air. But if you have a blow out, shred the tire, or break a rim you are stranded indefinitely. I believe that this causes unnecessary risk to drivers and a Mini spare should be provided as a minimum. Also the spare storage should accommodate the full size tire and rim for those of us that believe a Mini spare alone is a danger to to the driver safety because degraded braking and handling during use.
The car now has had to get two different wheel bearings changed (under warranty). Per dealership, its a "known problem" with the Rdx. What concerns me is that 2 out of the 4 have been replaced under warranty and soon I will be out of warranty, what is my recourse after this when this a supposedly a "known problem" with the 2013 Rdx.
On February 12, 2013 I was driving my 2008 Acura Rdx on a side road when my tire pressure indicator light came on. I felt a slight bumping from my wheels. When I looked up in my rear view mirror saw a section of my tire lying in the road behind me. Fortunately I was at a low speed. When I picked up and checked the section of tire that had detached I realized that the tire had split in a circumference along the side walls on both sides and that the segment that had detached had the tread section intact along with a few inches of the sidewalls. The remaining portion of the tire remained on the rim. The tire was a michelin mxm4 pilot 235/55vri and had only been on my car for 26,000 miles. I am very concerned that this is a significant safety issue. The dot# for this tire is b93jphfx4110. None of these tires have performed to near the 50,000 miles that they are rated at. On January 4, 2011 at 26,644 miles I had to replace the 2 rear tires as they had worn to the tread wear indicators. On January 6, 2012 at 38,979 I had to replace the front tires as they had worn to the tread wear indicators. The tire that fractured along the side wall is now the 5th. Tire that I have needed to purchase in this series for this car.
