1 Tire problem of the 2006 Acura RL

Failure Date: 07/20/2009

Honda/michelin pax tires (no flat) are design for only about 20-30k miles. This information was not disclosed at the time of the purchase of my vehicle. They have deceived the consumer that this is a quality product. In addition, these tires are flawed and expensive to replace and your car can't be DE-pax. If they are not replaced every two years it can cause serious performance problems which can lead to unnecessary crashes. As a concerned consumer about this product and many others we would like a recall on this product ASAP! Honda and michelin are aware of this defect, however they are not doing anything but passing the buck to one another.

2 Tire problem of the 2006 Acura RL

Failure Date: 10/30/2008

Michelin recently discontinued the manufacturing of the pax system worldwide and will no longer offer it. There is also special training, certifications and equipment required to install or repair pax tires. The absence of adequate repair facilities and pax system stock has resulted in consumers having to travel long distances and/or being required to wait days to obtain repair to damaged tires, replacement tires and/or the pax systems themselves. The problems that consumers are experiencing with the pax system likely will worsen now that michelin has abandoned the pax system. What is the american Honda motor company?s recommended alternative for pax system equipped vehicle owners that need new tires?.

3 Tire problem of the 2008 Acura RL

Failure Date: 02/16/2008

The contact owns a 2008 Acura Rl. The vehicle has michelin radial x tires. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact drove over a deep pothole and the tire pressure icon illuminated. The vehicle was driven to a dealer and the contact discovered that a tire was missing. The dealer could not determine why the tire detached from the vehicle, but stated that the tire's distance from the ground played a role. The current mileage was 3,000 and failure mileage was 2,600. Updated 04/25/08.

4 Tire problem of the 1997 Acura RL

Failure Date: 05/23/2006

I was driving on the interstate at about 75 mph, when one half of my tire expanded, causing the car to shake violently, and almost forcing me to lose control. The tire was taken off, and replaced with the donut. I will attempt tomorrow to have all 4 of my tires replaced, as they are fairly new (under 10,000) and I no longer feel comfortable driving the vehicle. These were cooper life liner, touring sle tires. Size 215 60r16 95t m+s.
