Went into limp mode on a highway in heavy traffic, car began to break rapidly decreasing in speed and would not accelerate at all. All dashboard lights came on and a cmbs notification came on. I and my family were almost rear ended by several vehicles. I am terrified to drive the vehicle and immediately pulled over to the side of the road and had vehicle towed. Also, while driving vehicle, steering wheel will randomly jerk hard to the left causing vehicle to swerve left. I have contacted the Acura dealership and am being denied the recall.
This car is equipped with four wheel steering. The actuators that control the real wheels activate when the steering wheel has not turned. This occurs when the car has completed a turn and is moving in a straight line.
Has happened numerous times driving 65 on freeway dashboard lights up in able to steer car a won’t accelerate the does a fishtail movement, very scary an dangerous. Have taken to dealer ship they say install new battery, which has been done same incidents happen, not to mention dealership can not replicate the issue after having for a week an driving car. Driving 35mph will loose power steering then car violently fishtails causing the car to lurch into oncoming lane , have narrowly been missed being hit by on coming traffic. Seem to happen randomly with no notice except loosing power steering. Other complaints say it is the paws system the Honda/Acura refuse to repair, again dealership,can not replicate, suggests new battery. It is a very dangerous situation on the road an will seriously cause bodily harm to me or the oncoming traffic. Looking for some help before a serious accident occurs.
Sun roof shattered while car was going 65 mph and straight on an interstate highway. The weather was clear, temperature around 60 degrees, 11:00 am. Fortunately the sunroof cover was closed. Over the next two hours pieces of the glass broke off, scratching and gouging the body.
3 sidewall separations on 3 different wheel locations in normal driving after hitting moderate potholes at between 30-40 mph. The mid profile michelin primacy oem tires, 19 inch wheels, and suspension do not function safely on this heavy sedan. The risk of even a small pothole, expansion joint, or manhole is a danger since the sidewalls get cut without actually blowing out, so a blowout could happen at any time. It is noteworthy that I have never had this issue with a tire in a million miles of driving over 35+ years. To have 3 in 5 months screams of a safety issue which michelin denies and Acura won't address. 1. Turning right on an entrance ramp at about 35mph, separated driver front tire when I hit a pothole in the dark. 8,000 miles on tire. (Feb 2016) 2. Slowing for a traffic light at about 20mph, separated passenger rear tire when I hit a pothole in the driving lane. 15,000 miles on tire. (June 2016) 3. Just after turning right onto an entrance ramp to a highway, hit a pothole at 15-20mph. Passenger front tire separated. 15,400 miles on tire. (June 2016).
I was involved in a moderate to severe frontal crash driving down a road and a left turning driver struck my car the knee airbag was the only airbag to deploy causing leg. Pain due to the air bag in the steering wheel not going off caused neck, back pain with headaches along with pain going into my legs. The car is showing two air bag codes car is a 2016 Acura Rlx.
As I was pulling into a parking space in a shopping plaza, the vehicle suddenly accelerated causing me to hit a parked vehicle about 10 ft to my left. Updated 3/17/2015.
At less than 1000 miles, the car started to intermittently alert me to brake when there is nothing in front of the car and there is a car in the blindspot when none there. These issues have continued for the two years I have owned the car. The dealer has had the car for weeks at the time and cannot recreate the problem. I had a complaint about the steering wheel making a loud squeal but was told by dealership this was normal. After several complaints, they realize the steering column needs to be replaced. One of the computer screen freezes and doesn't show data. Keyfob often doesn't recognize the key and I have to take it out to open the car. The car has had recalls on navigation system, headligts, seatbelts and bolts yet Honda USA continues not to not see an issue with the vehicle being a lemon. I am near the end of the warranty and concerned with the safety of the vehicle.
