The vehicle is equipped with rear wheel steering which is executed through a toe actuator device in the suspension attached to each rear wheel. The actuators are malfunctioning on my vehicle, causing it to swerve while driving on multiple occasions. The vehicle swerved in a fashion taking it out it its lane and could easily have put the vehicle into oncoming traffic with zero steering input from the driver. This is a very serious safety issue and vehicles with this equipment should be recalled for repair in my opinion. Acura is aware of the problem and did extend the warranties on the vehicles to cover the issue, but the extension ended in 2024. I spoke with Acura customer service at their us headquarters in torrance, CA and their response was that they no longer cover this repair but acknowledge that it is a serious safety concern with the vehicle. My local Acura dealer charges approximately $7,000 to repair the problem and I will attach the estimate.
Rear toe actuator (paws system) failure causes steering instability, warning lights, and loss of control during cornering. Acura denied warranty coverage despite a known defect and VIN-based extension (TSB 23-021, 23-022).
While my wife was driving my Rlx I left my neighborhood and made a right turn onto the main road, while on the main road the paws system malfunctioned and the vehicle "fishtailed" causing the vehicle to swerve violently, steering turned violently as well and instrument cluster illuminated with multiple warning lights. Paws system malfunctioned/failed (its available for inspection) the safety of my wife and son was put at risk as this could have caused a crash/accident the problem has been confirmed the vehicle component has been inspected and scanned for codes codes u0122-00, u0155-00, u0029-00, 27-21, 86-23, u129d-00, u0416-68, u126-00, u0100-00, u0101-00, c1600-94, u129d, and u1281. No prior warning lamps, messages or symptoms indicating a problem with system or vehicle this issue happened on Saturday December 10, 2022. How is this not a recall? did a google research on the condition and multiple reports of these vehicles equipped with the paws system "fishtailing" when the rear steering actuators malfunction.

The steering ability and rear suspension failed on the vehicle. I was driving straight on a major interstate and the car veered to the right. I was able to correct the vehicle by turning the steering wheel to the left. This happened on several occasions during this particular weekend. However, 2 weeks prior to this incident, I received forward collision warnings, brake warnings, and lane departure warnings. I researched this issue online and it said it could possibly be a defective battery which I had recently replaced. The battery never failed. The warnings only happened for 2 days. Then the car started started fishtailing 2 weeks afterwards. I took the car into the dealership and the diagnosis was rear actuators which had been replaced 2 years prior. The cost of the repair is $4600. I informed them this is a safety issue and could cause harm to me or someone else. However, they refuse to take responsibility for the rear suspension issue.
Had starter replaced on my vehicle and still doing the same thing it was doing before. I click the push to start button and just get a grinding noise or sometime nothing will happen. I been reading forms and a lot of Rlx owners are reporting the same issue. Other problem I’m having with the vehicle is the paws system can feel the car wanting to kick out in the rear wheels feel like they are turning when I’m going straight.

. I have a 2014 Rlx with paws. After turning left I have a problem where the rear wheels turn while the car was going straight down a street causing the rear end to kick out, kind of like what happens to the rear wheels when driving a car losing traction while turning on a wet surface.
When making a left handed turn at low speed, car makes a moan sounds coming from the rear completely throwing of the wheel alignment and the ability to control the steering of the car. Researched and appears to be a common problem with the rear toe actuator needing to be replaced. Acura has this recognized as a service issue ( service bulletin 13-041) with 2014 Acura Rlx models please help remedy this situation. A full recall is needed. Lives are at stake!!!.
A moaning or rubbing noise is heard from the rear when driving straight and makin small side-to-side turning movements and when you make a small turn it fish tail so u have to slow down and let the wheels catch up. With the rear p-aws actuators. I fell this should be a recall for 2015 Acura Rlx. I took it to the dealership in jackson ms and they say the actuators is bad. They told me that everyone is having the same problems. How can I get the dealership to fix my car. How can I send you my copy.
While driving and turning left or right the car feels like the backend is coming around to the front of car, then I have to hold the steering while tight because it feels like I'm gonna loose control of the car then it'll straighten back up. I can be driving on the streets or on the highway the same thing. And since I've had the car it has had a roaring noise in the rear end and I have bought new tires and every shop I have taken it to they say it's the tires but I know that's not so.
3 sidewall separations on 3 different wheel locations in normal driving after hitting moderate potholes at between 30-40 mph. The mid profile michelin primacy oem tires, 19 inch wheels, and suspension do not function safely on this heavy sedan. The risk of even a small pothole, expansion joint, or manhole is a danger since the sidewalls get cut without actually blowing out, so a blowout could happen at any time. It is noteworthy that I have never had this issue with a tire in a million miles of driving over 35+ years. To have 3 in 5 months screams of a safety issue which michelin denies and Acura won't address. 1. Turning right on an entrance ramp at about 35mph, separated driver front tire when I hit a pothole in the dark. 8,000 miles on tire. (Feb 2016) 2. Slowing for a traffic light at about 20mph, separated passenger rear tire when I hit a pothole in the driving lane. 15,000 miles on tire. (June 2016) 3. Just after turning right onto an entrance ramp to a highway, hit a pothole at 15-20mph. Passenger front tire separated. 15,400 miles on tire. (June 2016).

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Acura Rlx. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a dealer for regular service, where the technician determined that the left driver outer and inner tire rod needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was concern of his safety and had not been driving since the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown. Ak.
Since taking delivery of the car, it has made loud clunking and rattling noises and vibration from all four wheels, particularly noticeable while driving at slower speeds (15-45 mph). The dealer made an attempt to fix this by replacing the dampers on all four struts at the direction of Acura. This did not correct the problem. Since then, the dealer has been awaiting direction from Acura as to how to repair this defect. During an arbitration hearing, Acura informed the arbitrator and me that all 2014 Rlxs have this defect. They said redesigned parts are being tested now. As of 7/15/14 no further report has been received regarding the results of this testing, and neither Acura nor the dealer has contacted me to advise what corrective action(s) will be taken and when.
Car has numerous rattles and has had a recall for rear suspension bolts. Rattle problem has not been solved over 5 attempts. Both front strut assemblies have been replaced and still rattles. I have read there are issues with bolts coming loose and tie rods shearing from the vehicle causing the wheel(s) to come off. Have told the manufacturer on numerous occasions but they insist there is no safety issue with vehicle. I do not drive car on highways as I am afraid that all this rattling will loosen these bolts an accident just waiting to happen.
I was driving down the freeway when the back-end of the car became very loose and out of control. The car was swerving back and forth violently. I was able to gain control avoiding the cars to the left of me and the ditch to the right. I was able to get the car under control and I slowed the speed way down. I pulled off the highway and into a driveway to inspect. I found the passenger rear tire tilted inwards towards the car at about a 20 degree angle and found the tie rod that connects the car to the new all wheel steering device disconnected and laying on the ground. The bolt either came out or sheered off. The car was towed to the dealer and inspected. They told me it was a defect and repaired it under warranty. Acura client care received the photos and a description from the dealer. I was informed the bolt probably vibrated loose. Updated 10/22/lj updated 10/23/2013.
