2000 Acura Tl. Consumer writes in regards to intermittent headlight outages the consumer stated the headlights have been going out for more than a year. The consumer stated if she flipped the headlights on and off, they passenger headlight would come back on. The passenger headlight assembly was replaced. Not long after the replacement, the driver side light followed the same pattern. In December while driving, both low beams headlights failed. They did not come back on, when she tried to flip them on and off. She then discovered the high beams still worked.
The contact owns a 2000 Acura Tl. While driving approximately 25 mph with the headlights activated, the passenger side headlight suddenly failed to illuminate. The contact maneuvered to the side of the road and after turning the headlight control device several times, the passenger side headlight began to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where both headlights were replaced. The failure recurred after the repair was performed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the headlight control module would need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired for the most recent defect. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
