Air bags light flashing on and off almost every day we are driving the vehicle.

There are cracks forming on the dashboard of my 2005 Acura Tl that I have researched and found are chronic issues in the 2004-2008 Tl, and might compromise the ability of the airbag to deploy properly (either prematurely or not at all when expected to imnan accident). I've watched my dashboard go from having 1 crack 5-10 years ago to forming 2 more recently (for a total of 3) and have concerns after researching this as a common defect for the 2004-2008 generation of Tl, and yet Acura has not had a recall to fix this completely free of charge to the vehicle owner with no time limitation on when this can be honored. . A crack has developed on the passenger side of the dash running directly over the location of the airbag located on the same side. This has not resulted in any failure or malfunction as of now, but it raises concerns over the potential given the location. If you research the internet, you will find a plethora of similar complaints and concerns from many other third generation (‘04-‘08) Acura Tl owners dating back many years now. In spite of this, Acura/Honda has failed to offer any type of solution or even recognize it for the potential safety issue that it represents. To answer the questions you ask, I have not had it inspected by any dealer, mechanic or insurance representative at this time, nor have there been any warning lights appearing. However, common sense tells me that there is the “ potential “ for a problem given the nature of the crack and its location. Acura/Honda needs to step up and acknowledge and address this issue!!.
My battery would be dead if I didn't drive my car every day. Then I found out there is a parasitic drain on the battery from a faulty hands-free bluetooth module. I watched a video then disconnected mine myself, problem solved. I've used a headlight restoration kit because the lights are yellow and they have spider-cracks all in them, it really affects the brightness of the light itself. The dashboard is cracked beyond repair and I'm terrified of getting into a wreck in my car, the dash would become shrapnel!.
2005 Acura Tl- parked winters, garaged, babied and all service completed at the Acura dealerships. Car has 141,000 on it and was near 50,000 when purchased (aspec package etc). Car has developed cracks in the dashboard from the windshield to the instrument panel, across the center speaker and now directly on the indentation where the airbag is located on the passenger side. Reached out to Acura for assistance ((attached)) and they said the car is too old and outside warranty to help me. Irregardless of the fact I have always taken it to Acura and one look at the cars exterior and interior *paint and leather interior* shows that this car has been spoiled. The dashboard is a known issue for this generation and even made the news from complaints. I am now concerned that the airbag will not work properly or cause harm due to the structural integrity of the dashboard being altered due to shoddy craftsmanship that is not being backed up by Acura I have also raised concern that the headlight assembly are both cracking and discolored. I have had them professionally *refurbished* but the dealership said that they need to be replaced as they too are a safety issue not allowing proper light to be illuminated on the highway due to manufacture defect- again -- car parked winters, just look at the paint and quality of the car that is 15 years old.
These problems are not accident related but need to be addressed. My car battery kept draining. I replaced the battery just under a year ago and it kept happening unless I drove the car every day. Finally took it in to have it checked. The bluetooth device up in the headliner was shorted out. Got that fixed but found out that there is a class action lawsuit against Acura for this very problem. It's been ongoing for 5 years! the airbag issue has to to do with the fact that my dashboard is cracked, horribly, even though my car has been garaged and protected from the sun most of the time since I bought it in 2011. If the airbags deploy in an accident, there will be major shrapnel from the dashboard damage that will cause even greater injury. I would like to know why Acura is not doing anything about the faulty dashboard materials.
Airbag: cracked dashboard above airbag. Abs off steering: (in motion and when stationary) steering wheel moaned while turning wheel/driving and even after parking and turning steering wheel. Brakes: (in motion) when going down on dips on road, brakes make noise and seem to slip.
There are cracks in the dash on the passenger side and they run from windshield to the middle of the dash.
Dash is cracking on passenger side.
Taktata recall - have a 2005 Acura Tl that has been parked winters and inside a garage. Pampered, polished, Acura service always. Was driving down the road and noticed my dang dashboard has the crack that everyone is always talking about. I cant believe that a car of this price is having a dashboard crack. The dealership wants over 2000 to fix it. My other car is nearly 20 years old and not one blemish or crack in the dashboard and it too is a Honda product. C'mon with all the complaints and issues around the airbag do the right thing Acura and good will fix this thing or you will lose not only me but the other 4 family members I got turned onto Honda vehicles.
I entered my vehicle yesterday moring an noticed three two large crack across the dashboard starting at the winshield moving toward the passenger compartment. I did not notice the cracks when cleaning my car last week = sudden event occurance. A google search indicates many 2004 to 2008 Acura Tl's experience this issue. I am concerned about these cracks effecting the air bag deployment process and subsequent loss of passenger protection/safety during a collosion. Google search results imply these cracks will continue to develop and spread across the entire dashboard due to a design or manufacturing defect. Can you help us?.
Large cracks have developed throughout the material used in the interior of the vehicle including all of the dashboard. I am concerned that this will prevent the airbag from properly deploying.
Dash has cracked completely, disabling air bag system. The fact that this dashboard material has cracked all over has compromised the ability to deploy air bags safely. Verified by mechanic. Now this car is dangerous to drive. If I have a front end collision, I might die.
The dashboard on my 2005 Acura Tl has cracked over the past year. After researchng several people have had the same problem. The concern I have is not cosmetic, but safety. Due to the cracks my mechanic told me that my air bag system has disabled itself. Therefore if I am in an accident, I wont have that protection. Acura refuses to take care of the problem with a recall. It can have deadly consequences.
There is a crack on the right hand (passenger) side of the dash very close to the air bag. I am scared that the airbag may explode at any minute. Acura says there is no recall. This vehicle is kept in a garage and not driven everyday.
My notice light on the dashboard periodically comes on and off; the mechanic said it was a problem with the airbag, but didn't know which one until they looked at it. Is this a problem involving the takata recall? I need to have it fixed. This has been happening from time to time for over a year or more, but when it didn't stay on, I just didn't remember to deal with it. . . . . It is now on most of the time. This happens when the car is started and remains on until turned off.
Passenger seat will trigger air bag dash light. Acura corporate says I am responsible to pay for repairs. Dealer says they pay for repairs, excluding $170 diagnostic fee. Safety issue should be covered without expense to consumer.
Passenger dash cracked around edge of airbag. Concerned that Acura is not handling as a recall. They have replaced some dashes, but others they say the dash is a thinner material therefore it may crack. I believe this manufacturer defect is compromising safety as it relates to my passengers in the vehicle.
Dashboard has cracks starting from the area the front passenger airbag is located and has since spread to all areas of the dashboard. Acura has refused to acknowledge the defect, despite thousands of owners complaining. This issue has made its way to cnn, local news, numerous boards and websites, facebook, twitter, etc. The brand refuses to stand by their product and resolve the issue.
Cracking dash board. Doubtful that there isn't a takata airbag at the root of it that Acura is not including with the other years of that recall. Suspect dangers if bag gets deployed as dash would fragment out in expulsion.
Bought the car used from original owner. Dash had a single crack along passenger side/air bag. Now dash has multiple cracks surrounding passenger air bag area. Extremely concerned regarding air bag operating properly if deployed as well as shards/sharp pieces of dash flying if air bag is deployed. Disturbed that only some of the 2005 Acura Tl's have been recalled and not all from this year.
Passenger airbag deploying by itself and causing dashboard to crack.
Necesito saber si esta o no reportado como robado para comprarlo.
Known issue with no official recall. Dash board cracks directly above airbag. Started with on large crack and now there are two above airbag. I have 3 coworkers all with Acura Tl's from 04-06 years all with the same cracks. Dealer is making drivers responsible to replace with no guarantee it won't happen again. There are numerous online forums and facebook page just regards to this issue. Should be a recall.
The dashboard is developing large cracks all around the right front passenger airbag. The cracks continue to spread and have caused significant damage to the dashboard leading to major concern for the safety of the driver and front seat passenger as to whether the defect has compromised the airbag deployment.
Dashboard is cracked in two places. One crack is right above the airbag. Not sure if it could cause the airbag to deploy? I have read that this is a problem with a lot of Acuras.
Four weeks ago, my dash all of the sudden got 2 large cracks. This car is garaged, and when parked outside at work, ad window shades to protect the dash and keep the front seats and steering wheel cool. My car was parked in the garage, and when I got it in, the cracks were there.
There is a long split right along the side of where the airbag sits on the passanger side. This concerns me being right over the airbag. Looking online there is a facebook page with countless concerns of others with cracked dashboards in the same location. This cracking concerns me that the airbag might inflate while driving or not inflate correctly if in an accident. My fear is if I fill the crack that this also might impact how the airbag works. This should not happen with a luxury car and apparently this is happening in tons of cars from 2004 - 2008 that I've read about. I recently noticed this, but looking at the size of the crack it has likely been there for awhile and I didn't notice it. When the car heats up the crack isn't visible.
Crack has appeared on dashboard passenger side over air bag area. Vehicle was stationary. Safety concern with airbag.
The dash board on the passenger side of the car has two identical cracks about 10" apart parallel and opposite the other. I believe it is the airbag pushing up through the dash board. My main concern is the airbag is going to deploy without cause and hurt someone and/or cause an accident.
Over the past few weeks, without warning, the dash board on the passenger side of the car has developed two long identical cracks about 10" apart parallel and opposite the other. Appears to be the airbag pushing up through the dash board. I am very concerned that the airbag is going to deploy on its own and hurt someone and/or cause an accident.
On June 13, 2015 while driving on a rainy night I hit a pothole that caused the driver's side curtain & seat airbag to inflate. The impact of the curtain bag to the side of my head caused me to lose control but regained it quickly. I drove to a shell service station to inspect the vehicle for damage. The only damage was to my passanger side tire that had a 2 inch long gouge. The tire did not go flat. I called my parents and we drove the car home.
My 2005 Acura Tl dashboard cracks so many places. . Especially passenger side of dashboard. This is very dangerous if the airbag pop out while you're driving the road. I purchased this car brand new at paragon Acura , woodside,n. Y I hope this is recall. Please see attached photo. My name: tat lam phone: 718-986-6010 email: tsl2277@gmail. Com.
