Accelerator Pedal Sensor problems of the 2006 Acura TL

The other day I picked up my twins from daycare at rush hour after work, proceeded to get on the highway where suddenly my tsa & engine lights come on, my car goes limp and we were in a very near-miss accident situation. I try to keep my calm as my children are keenly aware that something is wrong. I look at the dash, I look at the cars coming from the back and side, and I slowly creep along and immediately put my hazards on. Now I have to get myself from the left lane and maneuver in to the right with people coming up that can't yet see my distress signal.
