general problems of the 2015 Acura TLX

Everything previously reported ( on other incidents reports) happened while my daughter was driving on the highway! you need to correct this!!! My car felt like I was popping the clutch, jerking a lot. I was able to move over to the right shoulder and park. I turned the car off and I was able to turn it back on unfortunately but the lights were still popping up and my car kept jerking and not accelerating. While driving on the freeway/highway my vehicle went into limp mode and shifted into neutral. My vehicle would not allow me to shift gears and the car would not let me accelerate anymore. This happened to me twice in 2020 and the mechanics could not find any issue or replicate what had happened. They said this was a software issue. I was still scared to drive my car thinking this would happen again. Then 2 years after ( 2024) again this happened and it was when I was on the freeway. Luckily I was on the left side and was able to stop on the shoulder but stressing out and still traumatized from what occurred 2 years ago. I took it to the dealer and same thing they could not replicate the issue and did re programmed the software. I believe this car is not safe to drive at all knowing this can happen again and again at random times. The attached document is what the dealer gave me stating this remedy was done to the vehicle. This need to be investigated.

Unknown- check tpms system, check parking brake system, check brake system, park light, all came on and stays on. While driving car shut off multiple times, speed will reduce, car will hesitate and jerk when trying to pull off from stop light.

While driving approx 65 mph on a freeway the vehicle placed itself into neutral and decelerrated as multiple warnings flashed across dashboard. . . “emissions system problem”, “transmission system problem”, “electric parking brake problem”. I was able to pull off to the side of an exit ramp but once I put the car in park I could not shift into drive. I could not safely drive/manuever my vehicle to a safer area putting myself and child at risk of being hit. I turned the car on/off multiple times to attempt to shift into drive, but to no avail. I called the nearest Acura dealer which was in the next town over from where I was stranded. After many failed attempts I was able to put the car in drive and move my vehicle to the closest road and off to the side but with the warnings still flashing. The last successful attempt I was able to put the car in drive again and without any further warnings flashing on dashboard. Drove 20 minutes to the nearest Acura dealer and was charged $300 for the diagnosis and update of 3 systems. Informed dtc code p0657, actuator supply voltage circuit/open, was found prior to system updates: transmission control module update, pgm-fi update, and abs system update.

Switching gears is weird sometimes and sport plus mode revs engine.

I was merging on to the freeway going about 60mph, with traffic right behind me. Car started decelerated and the dash board lit up. A car behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me. I put on my hazard lights and tried to move to the shoulder the car was only going about 5mph at the time. I turned the car off and restarted to see if it would move, but it was still going about 5mph. After doing this a couple of times I was able to get the car the move at about 20 mph. The dash board is still lit up.

When driving on a windy road around 40mph the car went into limp mode causing the car to suddenly decelerate to 5 mph which nearly caused an accident by the car behind me. The car then started displaying multiple error codes on the dash (electric parking brake problem, emissions system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem, lane departure warning problem).

While driving I noticed that my car didn't seem to shift correctly. I pulled over and accelerated again. Got to my destination and noticed the car wasn't moving harldy as I pulled up to park. Once I parked, I put it in reverse to pull up again and it was making a loud noise and jerking when I put it in reverse. I did this like 3 times to try and figure out what was going on. After about 4 hours I went to leave my destination and it shifted into reverse just fine. I was relieved until after about 5 minutes of driving and then every light illuminated on the dash and the car wasn't accelerating as it should have been. The rpm's were going up but car was barely moving. I made it home but now sick to my stomach because I have no idea what this could be. Not sure if it needs to be towed to a shop or if I can or should drive it if possible.

Car has an auto idle reduction installed to save energy. However, the idle is set so low that when you try to start out after stopping for a traffic light, the car stalls continuously.

New car purchased in 2015. Currently has about 23k miles. Error lights flash on dash including "transmission system problems, blind spot info system problems, vehicle stability assist problem, all wheel steering problem, forward collision warning problem, lane departure waring problem". This is the third time that it has happened. First time, no video evidence of it but we did take it in to Acura to look. No issue found. Second time we had a video, they did a software upgrade. Now again. Along with this, car had a transmission replaced, steering rack and pinion, sub frame, power steering assembly, list goes on.

Yes, you guys are on point! I had my 2015 Tlx v4 advanced pack. And every single complaint I read on here I have! this is very nerve wrecking! I took in my Acura two weeks ago to sherman oaks center Acura, where I originally purchased the vahicle and explained everything that I was experiencing; e. I. Jerks, sudden revs, delayed upshift/downshift. The repair center personnel advised me that the vehicle just needed a "simple software update" and that not to be alarmed because Acura will have future updates. So when I went to pick up my car I noticed that the car felt as though I was driving my girlfriend's 10 year old corolla. The car is a f*** piece of s*** I tell you! it lags more and he vibrates too much! this is a safety hazard!.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission fluid needed to be replaced and the shift point software needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but after 500 miles, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,500.

In addition the park lock did not engage. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed the vehicle needed a software update. The vehicle was repaired failure and recurred. The vehicle was brought the dealer twice more and was repaired with the software update again, however the problem recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. There was a recall for the automatic transmission failure NHTSA 14v779000 (power train) however this vehicles VIN was not included. The vehicle failure mileage was 10,800. Kh.

This vehicle often hesitates or has a loud noise of the transmission sounding like it is trying to shift into a gear it shouldn't. Both of these occurances happen when moving from a stopped position. Car does not move for a couple of seconds, in the latter case or is moving away from stopped position in the former case. Every time this happens the vehicle in back of me thinks I am moving forward (which is not happening) and procedes to move almost rear-ending me. It is just a matter of time. This happens when the vehicle is cold/ hot.

I leased my Acura Tlx v6 advanced 2 wheel drive starting in September 2014. Right away, within the first week I started noticing performance issues. This vehicle has an extremely hard shift between 2nd and 3rd gear, causing the car to lurch forward unexpectedly. It is particularly noticeable in "sport" mode. It happens more consistently in stop and go traffic, which coincides with a situation that allows for less reaction time. It also has serious acceleration hesitation throughout all speeds. There have been multiple situations where while merging in traffic or accelerating onto a major highway I have almost been hit because my vehicle was unresponsive. My car has been into Acura twice so far for this issue. The first time I was told it was a "known" issue but there was no fix. The second time I took my car in for the safety recall Acura "changed out the transmission fluid" which was supposed to help - and it didn't. I have another appointment next week for the same issues. Acura client care acknowledged that this is a known problem but that Acura corporate does not have any solutions and it must be taken up with the dealership. The dealership just acknowledges the problem and says to take it up with Acura corporate. This is a dangerous driving situation and I do not feel safe in this vehicle. Acura obviously rolled this car out of the factory knowing they had issues (hence their launch delay in the first place) but were willing to take advantage of the consumer and had no concern for their customers' safety. Buyer beware - do not purchase a Tlx.
