The contact owns a 2004 Acura Tsx. While parked, the contact noticed that the tail lights were not illuminating. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics where the technician stated there was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number: 04v429000 (exterior lighting:tail lights) in which the vehicle was included. After inspecting the vehicle the technician stated the vehicle would not be covered under the recall because the part had been tampered with and damaged because of inadequate protection. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.
