Seat Belt problem #1

It is my understanding that the seatbelt on my vehicle is 100% covered under lifetime warranty. However, my airbag light is on and remains on due to a sensor failure in the driver's side seatbelt buckle and the tensioner. I went to the Acura dealer in chantilly, va to have repaired and was informed by the service manager (kyle c. ) that Acura was only going to pay 50%, which was unacceptable as it is a lifetime warranty part (seatbelt). As this is a significant safety issue, I was not able to pass a state safety inspection due to the issue and was informed by the inspector that it should be covered by the dealer. As the sensor failure causes the airbag system light and therefore the possibility that the system would not work if in an accident, this is a major safety issue and the response from Acura/dealer is unacceptable. This issue is a well documented problem among owners of this vehicle as well as the improper responses from Acura.

Seat Belt problem #3

The drivers seat belt stopped catching because of the plastic cap covering the mechanism came loose. The cap holds with little plastic pegs which aren't very strong and keep popping out. I fixed it by replacing one with a screw but it should be manufactured more securely to begin with. The drivers seat belt is a major part of vehicle safety and should be made more sturdy than it is. This happened with regular use of the seat belt and not during any accident.

Seat Belt problem #4

The seat belt light on the dash remains lit when the vehicle is started. I contacted the local dealer. I was advised to bring it in to be evaluated and I would be charged a service charge to fix it unless it was covered by the warranty. I was under the impression the seat belt had a lifetime warranty. I have read this is a common problem but have not been notified of a recall regarding this issue.

Seat Belt problem #5

My car model is one of many Honda vehicles recalled in 2019. The car warns me about the airbag and seatbelt malfunctions each time I start the vehicle. I reported to Acura but no answer to my concerns and I'm very frustrated driving my car knowing the airbag may not protect me during accidents.

Seat Belt problem #6

The airbag or srs light is constantly on indicating that it will not deploy in an accident. This happens after starting the engine. The reason appears to be a failed electrical component in the seat belt buckle. This is a major safety issue that is and has been faced by a lot of Tsx owners. Contacted Acura but they will not cover anything, either to replace the component or even to diagnose the exact issue. Their position seat belts still work and so it is not a defect. Note that the airbags still won't deploy with this parts defect. The dealer concurs with Acura. Since this is a known and widespread reported safety issue, Acura should be asked to issue a recall.

Seat Belt problem #7

While turning left my car was struck head on by another vehicle suddenly emerging from behind a snowbank and turning left from the opposite direction. Air bags deployed. Passenger behind the driver hit her head on the seat in front of her despite having her seatbelt fastened, and was mildly concussed. Thinking the problem was with the seatbelt pre-tensioning system.

Seat Belt problem #10

The contact owns a 2010 Acura Tsx. The contact stated that the rear passenger seat belt was extremely difficult to get secured on a booster seat. The contact stated that the shoulder harness worked fine, but the lap belt was not long enough to latch properly. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and was advised that the seat belts were designed as normal and would not be adjusted to fit a booster seat. The failure mileage was 1,900.

Seat Belt problem #11

2010 Acura Tsx. Consumer writes in regards to check engine light and vsa light issues. The dealer found the wheel sensor on the left front was bad, due to internal failure the dealer replaced the sensor. They also found the left front wheel bearing was leaking grease and caused the wheel sensor to go bad. They replaced the left wheel bearing. The high button on the passenger seat warmer light was inoperable. Also, the third clutch pressure switch failed. The dashboard was bubbling in the center and the steering wheel was completely discolored. The power windows were moving slowly up and down. The consumer continued to experience problems with the brakes squeaking, despite the rear brakes being replaced, the door would not open, the seat belt cover broke. Also, the engine would not start.

Seat Belt problem #12

I bought a 2010 Acura in April of 2010. Through out the summer, there would be times when I would enter the car, try to put my seatbelt on and it would not give it to me. I would sit there and pull and it would take a few times and finally give me the seatbelt. This would happen a lot during the summer and then the problem seemed to go away. I was rear ended five days ago in my Acura Tsx. I was wearing my seatbelt but it never locked to hold me in place. I ended up hitting my head on the stearing wheel. I wish I had got my seatbelt checked in the summer, realizing that it was probably defective. I would hate to see this happen to anyone else.

All other problems remain. A third appointment is setup for 06. 12. 06. Between appointments (06. 05. 06) the seat belt adjusters begin rattling again. After picking up the car for the third time, the dealer finally fixes the scratch on the seat and re-replaces the seat belt adjusters. Again, all other problems remain. On approximately 07. 15. 06, the drivers and passengers seats began squeaking again, and now I must take the car to the dealer a fourth time.
