While driving at highway speeds, the a-pillar trim on the passenger side of my Acura Tsx wagon's windshield flew off the car today as a gust of wind hit the vehicle. I had just cleaned the windshield that morning in preparation for my road trip and nothing appeared loose. While driving for over two hours, nothing had rattled or sounded strange. And then all of a sudden, a crack noise and something hits the windshield and flies over the car. I almost hit the car next to me due to the suddenness. The trim piece flew behind the vehicle and had traffic been heavier, it could have hit a car behind me. So that could have been two accidents caused. This car has been amazing and I am the original owner. I am troubled now though seeing the number of people online (see Acura forums) having this issue as their Tsx's age. There is also another NHTSA complaint with this exact same issue, and there have been two Acura tsbs regarding this already (see 09-030 and 09-016). As thousands of Tsxs age along with the apparent "glue" holding this piece on the car, motorists across the nation are at risk of this flying projectile. Thus, I am writing this complaint in the name of public safety even though I truly love my Tsx wagon.

While driving on highway driver side windshield trim panel flew off into traffic causing a car to swerve at highway speed. Included with the genuine Acura replacement part (# 73162-tl2-305zd) was service bulletin # 09-030 which states that the glue needs to be replaced. I talked to Acura of wappingers service and parts department and Acura of America regarding this issue. All parties denied replacing the glue on the clips. Some of the clips are very out of place due to what I believe is the glue softening in the sun. I truly believe this is a safety hazard because of the potential of this panel hits a pedestrian or car and creating an accident with potential injury or death. Car has been in 0 accidents. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.

I traveled 150 miles to purchase a 2012 Acura Tsx at calidad motors in concord CA. I was told my deal went through so that is why I drove that far. When I got there, checked out the car and stated the issues to the dealership, which were promised in the deal paper work that they would get fixed. I have contacted dealer and the dealership refuses to contact me back or assist me in this repair. I expressed that they sold me a vehicle that had been in an accident, due to what the repair shop had told me. I was told to send in the photos and a video of the damaged bumper and fog lamp area. They still have not responded to me. Since then, my bumper has fallen off and caused damage to the vehicle. I had my husband put the bumper back on to the vehicle.
To see if the car has a recall.

When I was driving on a freeway I heard a pop sound and saw that the passenger side windshield molding had come loose. It never fell off. I secured it with duct tape. It stayed when I drove on city streets, but popped off again on the freeway.
On Monday April 11, 2016 at approximately 9:40am while driving on I-15 north I heard a very loud noise which I found out after parking my car that the moonroof had shattered and was bent outward. It was not clear to me what happened or where the noise came from when I was driving, since there were no other vehicles in close vicinity and there were no loose objects on the road. I was driving roughly around 70mph when the moonroof unexpectedly shattered, all windows were closed, radio was off and the visor/shade to the moonroof was also closed. I immediately reported the situation to Acura of riverside in California where I originally purchased the car (brand new) and was referred to Acura client relations who then instructed me that I go to the nearest Acura dealership to have the car inspected. I took the car to kearny mesa Acura in san diego and they held my car all day on April 14. They did not inspect and examine the moonroof to determine what caused it to shatter. In conclusion, it is disingenuous for kearny mesa Acura to not even inspect the car and it is appalling and inexcusable for the case agent at Acura client relations to negligibly dismiss the report as ¿damage is from outside influence¿. Lastly, I took the car for inspection to Acura of riverside on April 23 and was told there is no impact on the moonroof but the decision is up to district parts & service manager at american Honda motor company, inc. Acura of riverside called me on April 25, 2016 stating the district parts & service manager says damage was done by outside influence wow! this experience to say the least has been horrendous and unfair, as I write this I have a 2002 civic ex on the driveway currently on recall for the takata airbags and my family owns two more Acura Tsx¿s. I can only say shame on everything Acura and shame on everything Honda. Post note: (full letter attached in pdf).
Traveling approximately 15 mph in stop-and-go traffic on the freeway in los angeles. Weather conditions were dry. No issue regarding visibilty. Front vehicle stopped. Applied brakes to stop, but antilock braking system activated causing the vehicle's brakes to grind and vehicle to glide, rather than abruptly stop, resulting in a rear-end collision. Airbags did not activate. Extensive damage sustained to the front end of the Acura, specifically the grill and headlights causing side-bar damage (estimate indicates $5,000+ damage). Minor damage caused to the rear bumper of the rear-ended vehicle (estimate indciates $1200).

Eps steering issues first reported to Acura approximately 250 miles. Hood vibration issues at 3800 miles. Electronic power steering stability tracking issues, automobile cannot be driven in straight line. The eps system in this VIN platform and many other manufacturers has serious & well documented straight line driving and crosswind stability issues due to inherent design and engineering flaws in the eps system as compared to hydraulic steering systems. Passing big rigs traveling in opposite direction on two lane highways, car being pushed excessively toward outside right edge of road due to eps stability tracking issues & entire hood assembly lifting and vibrating vertically about 1" very fast especially at leading edge closest to windshield as if flexing and trying to pull from its hinges and front locking latch. Occurred 5 times on one highway and 4 times on open cross country interstates in crosswinds and accompanied by loud howling sound from hood vibration when winds travel through engine compartment. "flutters" often on open interstate highways when not vibrating violently. Have talked with 4 owners that have experienced same issues. Acura has known of problem for 5 years and issued carefully worded tsb10-103 in April 2009 with cheap "band aide" fix of adding rubber gasket that didn't solve real problem of hood flexibility engineering flaw. Very scary experience when not expecting. Hood is 19 square feet of very flimsy braced sheet metal weighing 42#. If structure detaches while driving at interstate speeds it basically becomes a flying guillotine. Can provide more detailed information on factory body weld assembly issues, hood vibration issues and eps issues but character limitations on this form will not allow space.

First seat leather on back busted on both front seats as well as the leather on driver's door rest. I have had motor issues, leather on door panel pucked. Aura dealership fixed the motor and , one of the busted seat and the door panel. The drive seat busted in 2013, passenger 2016 and the driver's 2015. I've never owner and car with some many issues.
When I took my car in for maintenance last year (9/11) they mentioned that at my next service visit I may need brakes. I was astounded given the low mileage and the fact that all my past cars never needed brakes this soon. The car was only two years old. I recently took my Tsx in for b12 service (5/12) which cost over $400. I could not believe that I would need replacement brakes so did not authorize it. I only have 25,000 miles. The service representative claimed it was my driving style. Everyone said it was just the dealership advising unnecessary work. The next day after service my left rear wheel started to squeal. When they removed the tires for the b12 service they evidently put the defective pad back on incorrectly. That day, I mentioned my brake issue to a friend and they informed about the defect and the class action suite. Of course the service reps knew all along and never took responsibility. They could have offered me a discount on the brakes and explained the issue they were having with the 2009 Tsx brakes. This could be a serious safety issue. Additionally, I noticed a rust spot on my passenger side below the door their year (4/12). I have had no accidents. I thought with modern metals and paints this issue no longer existed. Particularly with a new car and a Acura. Once again they blamed me and said it was my responsibility. There must have had a "impact". None that was visible of course.
As I was driving on the freeway, I glanced over to my passenger and noticed something vibrating outside the front windshield. I pulled over and got out of the car to examine what it was. The molding around the passenger side of the windshield had come loose and was waving in the wind. Luckily, it was still partially attached. I drove directly to an Acura dealer who said the tape and clips holding the molding on had come loose. . . Probably from the heat in arizona where I live). They ordered a new part and as they were replacing it, noticed the molding on the driver's side was coming off too so they replaced that as well. This was all under warranty so there was no cost.
To whom it may concern
I am an owner of a 1999 model Acura tl I bought it brand new in November of 1998 and have been driving this car ever since almost 194,000 miles. On Saturday, April 26, 2008 I test drove a brand new 2009 model Acura Tsx at sunnyside Acura in nashua nh. It was around noon time and the weather was clear and sunny. Sunnysides Acura sales consultant (kristine miller) introduced me to the car, its electronics (this was a model with optional navigation system) prior to driving off. The test drive itself was uneventful until I needed to make a sharp u-turn. The u-turn was required in order to pull back onto sunnysides Acura parking lot. I was the first car at the traffic light to make a u-turn and while making it I drove over very low road divider. Nobody was injured however the car itself was damaged by piece of a metal post that was embedded into road divider. I could not understand at the time why I could not see the road divider from the driver seat. I have used the same u-turn many times previously. I do not make it a habit of driving over objects on the road my driving history is a statement to that. Later after comparing another brand new 2009 Tsx directly to my 1999 tl I realized that my view of the road divider adjacent to my car was completely obstructed by new, safer, high beltline doors of 2009 model Acura Tsx. In light of that discovery I ask following questions:
1. Why were there absolutely not a single piece of information about this new safety feature and its consequences to the field of view provided to me by the dealership before test drive?
2. Why would no warning label about such a significant change be included inside the car?
3. Why would not provisions be implemented on a driver side rear view mirror to see a blind spot next to the car itself?
sincerely.
