2 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2018

Takata recall. I have scheduled with my local Audi dealer two times to have this airbag recall replacement completed, and both times, they have called me to inform me that they a) do not have the parts, and b) do not know when they will get them. This happened again for the second time today, 11/14/2018 with royal motors san francisco. According to https://vinrcl. Safercar. Gov/VIN/vinlookup these parts were expected to be available in April of this year. It is now mid-November, 7 months late. This is unacceptable for a safety item such as this. Why aren't the parts available, and why don't they know when they will be?? until then, I'll be continuing to drive this potentially dangerous vehicle.

3 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2018

"takata recall" - I have been getting notices for a year and still can't get this work performed. I have contacted (800) 253-2834 and they still haven't gotten back to me. Nhsta campaign number: 16v079000. Fuel tank ventilation valve NHTSA campain number: 09v37700 never got notice on this recall till I went on your site. I need to know if Audi will ever get these parts/service centers to fix it. Of course it costs money for them - seems like its just lip service. Can't get a service center willing to perform this work; no parts. Feels like service is blaming parts and visa versa. This is not acceptable. Whats the point of a recall if nothing is ever going to be fixed? so far no accident has occurred requiring as it relates to these recalls. Does the govt. /Audi only want to see additional accidents before they get these done. From the date below - certainly feels this is what you want.

6 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/12/2018

Takata recall my car is subject to a takata recall that Audi announced in January 2018 (final remedy recall for takata airbags) ; I receive periodic postcards from Audi on the recall- which instruct me to contact an Audi dealer and get the recall remedied ASAP. However, I have called every washington DC area Audi dealer every months since January and they refuse to do the recall repair. Most say the parts are not available. I have emailed and spoken to Audi USA, since the Audi website says parts are available and my car can be fixed - nothing says the truth, which is that dealers don't have the parts to do the recalls. Audi USA just apologizes but refuses to provide any information or correct/update their websites certainly false state, nets that this recall can currently be repaired. I'm writing this complaint hoping that NHTSA can take some action to encourage a more reasonable response on this recall from Audi.

Failure Date: 08/10/2018

Takata recall: I am still waiting for the second repair to be made on my vehicle regarding this recall. I truly don't feel safe driving my car knowing there is a possibility of the airbag exploding harmful objects into my face in the case of an accident. I am repeatedly being told the manufacturer has not produced the parts for my local Audi dealership to finish the repair work. I'm wondering what the hold up is, and what I can do as a driver to protect myself in the meantime? is there a timeline that manufacturers have to complete recall services, and if so, when is that time up? how is this acceptable?.

18 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/24/2017

Takata recall I was first notified of this recall in February of 2016. It has been over a year and I have been driving around with a potentially lethal defect. I received a letter from Audi in April with an update on how to address this defect, but when I called my local dealer they indicated that parts may not be available for months. This is very unsettling. Safety is such a concern for this issue, that other manufacturers have gone as far as to provide their customers with a rental car until a fix is available, yet Audi has not offered this service.

Takata recall. Dear NHTSA, Audi is unable to repair, replace, refund or repurchase my vehicle. This is affecting my ability to drive to work because I can not drive a car I don't feel safe driving in. having a family member or a client on the passenger seat is not an option because it is dangerous. On December 2016 I asked Audi of America to repair the airbag but they couldn't because they don't have the parts; consequently, I requested Audi of America to buy the car back from me to which they answered the following: we sincerely apologize that Audi of America is unable to meet your expectation for a vehicle repurchase, we would like to inform you that the vehicle airbag will be repaired per NHTSA. At this time, we do not have a specific time frame available additionally, because the NHTSA will have oversight regarding the repair schedule for vehicles affected by this recall, parts allocation will be managed as per the agency requirements. .
