The contact owns a 2008 Audi A4. The contact received an unknown recall notice related to the air bags. The contact scheduled an appointment at a dealer and had the recall serviced. The contact then stated that while idle in the parking lot of a hospital, a speeding vehicle clipped the front end, driver's side of her vehicle, which caused the entire front bumper to detach from the vehicle. The driver also hit a gate, guardrail, and utility box in the parking lot. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact was then treated at the hospital for an injury to her neck and left shoulder. The contact sustains severe headaches weeks after the accident. The contact received an x-ray and had been assigned to physical therapy for the next few months. The other driver was not injured as a result of the accident. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent mechanic and was later towed to a storage unit. The contact family member, who is mechanically inclined, stated that the vehicle's air bag sensors were defective. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired by dealer. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer; the manufacturer gave the contact a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
I was in a pretty bad car accident, the car was totaled but the air bags didn’t deploy and I slammed my head on my steering wheel, I got side swiped and the driver door wasn’t able to be opened I had to kick it open and the front of the car hit a concrete pole going roughly 35 mph or more.
I have called my dealership and reached out to the vehicle manufacturer on their website numerous times over a 10 year period (at the very least since Audi announced agreed to the repairs). I keep on receiving notice postcards from Audi to have this scheduled with my local dealership. When I call they keep telling me to be patient, they will call me when one comes in. I have started to receive postcards from another dealer to schedule the repair. . . Only this dealer is across the country in California! it does not seem to me when I contact Audi of America they don't really care. I only have approximately 70,000 miles on the car because I don't drive it with my family aboard(because of the factory installed takata front passenger anti personnel device). The only help from Audi was in the from of a recommendation "do not" use front passenger seat. To recap 12 year old vehicle, I believe I live in zone2, numerous attempts to both Audi of America and my local dealership, recall notices from California! *****update: as I was about to file this complaint I decided to call benzel busch Audi to check. And miraculously they have one. I was told by Audi of America through customer service representative greg m. On may 16, 2019, that he spoke to katherine at service and that they are awaiting parts and that she assured him that I was a priority and once the part arrives they will be reaching out to me directly. In the almost a year of waiting, no one has contacted me, not aoa or local dealer. I called her today Jan. 8, 2020 and scheduled a repair on Jan. 13. It would seem that I am not a priority.

2008 Audi A4. Consumer writes in regards to takata frontal airbag safety recall. Consumer would like to know when parts will be available for repair.
Takata recall: Audi refuses to perform the recall for u. S citizens abroad. I am u. S. Citizen currently based in europe, working for a u. S. It company. I am the original owner, the vehicle was until 2013 in the u. S. , and I moved it temporarily to germany for my assignment here. I am planning to take the vehicle back home to the u. S. Upon my return. I received the recall to my u. S. Address and asked Audi to do the recommended repair in germany, where the vehicle is currently located. But they refuse to do so in germany. I am concerned that as a u. S. Citizen abroad, that I am at risk with this vehicle and request Audi to perform the recommended repair also during my overseas assignment in germany.
Takata recall - I have been trying to get my passenger airbag replaced since the recall was issued. I have been calling my local Audi dealership in chantilly, va every month or so to check if the part is available, always get the same answer "someone will call you back" (they never do). I understand that takata went out of business but this is a safety issue and needs to be resolved by another manufacturer. My car at this moment is worthless, I will not be able to sell it with an open recall that has no remedy at this moment, nor can I have any passenger safely sit next to me. I am very disappointed with Audi for handling this so poorly and for not having a solution. In the meanwhile I get takata airbag recall mailing remainders from Audi about every other week, they make you think that the parts are available but they are not and for my older model car - a 2008 - they probably never will be. I will not buy another Audi ever again.

Takata recall - dealer may be trying to sell it without repairs.
Takata recall the recall was initiated on Jan. 11, 2017, and the current status (as of Nov. 15, 2017) is that a remedy is not yet available. Nothing has happened yet, but it seems that 10 months is more than adequate between notice and allowing me to have it repaired.
Takata recall is directly responsible for me driving a potentially deadly car over 70,000 miles and 10 years. To add insult to injury or death, the deadly defect has only been acknowledged in the last 18 months and there has been no remedy during this time, the idea that I have to be dead or permanently maimed, to qualify for litigation/compensation, is what make this dangerous situation deadly. It was attempted manslaughter until the delay in admittance of a deadly defect and now has become attempted murder with the delay of an immediate remedy. I request compensation of $100,000. 00 per year for every year I have owned my vehicle with this takata airbag deadly defect.

Airbag was recalled in January and Audi of America has not sent any information on this recall. First week of November I received a generic flyer in the mail with information on this issue.
Takata recall - I have now had two official notices that my car is under recall, but the Audi dealer in sf (royal auto group) still says they don't have parts and can't fix it. Additionally, they won't give me a loaner while I wait. This means I am driving an incredibly unsafe car around simply because bureaucracy is getting in the way of fixing it.
