Unknown Or Other problem #2

In replacing a flat tire after jacking the car up, the original car jack broke down and the car fell back down. Luckily I haven't been injured, but was really a close call.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

When the car gets cold, the latch on the trunk won't catch. So, you can have the trunk latch closed when you leave the garage. But when you park in a cold outdoor lot, the latch will come undone, and you can't latch the trunk on the way home. So when you are driving and hit a bump, the trunk lid rattles around. But this only happens when it is cold. The service guys at my Audi dealer said, "yeah, this is a problem with these cars. " if they know about it, why dont they fix it? they should replace the faulty trunk latches. It seems a safety hazard to have the trunk fly open when you are driving down the road.

Audi 2006 A4 convertable top adhesive breakdown on rear glass. No repair at this time. Getting quotes, local Audi dealership says it is note a covered item.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

Tire jack for 2008 Audi A4 failed. The car was jacked up on a flat concrete surface with the parking break engaged as stated in the manual. A minute after settling, the jack failed for no apparent reason. The jack has caused damage to the sideskirt and door secrtion due to the car falling on to it. Sumbitted a warranty claim with Audi of America. However Audi denied the warranty claim with no tecnical explanation as to why the jack falied. Upon researching the topic, I have found this is a very common occurance among other A4 owners.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

On December 3rd, 2010, I was driving south on I-405s heading from long beach, CA to san diego, CA. I was driving approximately 45 mph when my check engine light came on and I lost all acceleration in my car. I still had electrical power (ie, indicators still worked, my manual transmission worked and interior dome lights worked). I pulled straight over to the side of the highway at which point I noticed that the hood of my car appeared to be melting and that smoke was rising out of the engine. I jumped out of the car and ran to the side of the road to call 911. Two gracious strangers attempted with two separate fire extinguishers to put out the fire but were unable to. The entire engine compartment was entirely consumed by flames within 2-3 minutes. By the time the fire department and emts arrived, the entire car was aflame and was no longer salvageable. It only took about 5 minutes for the entire car to go up in flames. All that remained once the fire was put out was the rear-hatchback door. Everything else in the car was completely and totally melted and burned. The state trooper who was at the scene of the incident said that the car was so badly burnt it would be extremely hard to determine what caused the fire. I have pictures of the car after the fire and would be happy to share them if needed. The fire was so fast, hot and quick that it was only 30 minutes from when my check engine light came on and I had to pull over, to the end of the entire ordeal.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

When I purchased my pre-owned 03 Audi A4 cabrio in may 2010 failed to notice that the bottom left and right corners of the rear window was separating from the fabric at the top. Fast forward to may 2011 its now spread enough that you could reach a whole hand into the headliner. When it rains part of the back seat, rear deck and areas of the trunk get very wet was separating from the fabric at the bottom left and right corners of the rear window, enough that you could reach a whole hand into the headliner. When it rains the headliner around the rear glass, part of the back seat, rear deck and areas of the trunk get very wet. With the smell after it dries, im sure I have mold and mildew issues as well.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

Audi dealer replaced front brake pads, under maintenance schedule. Withing 90 days wet weather braking in the front is nill! one has to put the left foot on the pedal keeping the pads warmed up so when braking is needed, brake force is available. Some dealers have acknowledged Audi sold pads that got wet easily and retained mositure, causing severe braking loss. Audi America refuses to acknowledge problem and owners have had to have the pads replaced at their own cost! what is it going to take. . A brake related death and a lawsuit?.

Unknown Or Other problem #9

The heat shields above my catalytic converters caught fire and had to be replaced, at a large expense to me. Upon receipt of the replacement parts, it was noticed that the parts had been redesigned. I believe that the manufacturer has found a fundamental issue with their original design and is quietly replacing them. The problem with this is that it takes your car catching on fire to know you need to replace them.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

2006 Audi a-4 hit with debris from a tire blow out. Consumer states that a tractor trailer tire blewout and the debris hit his vehicle. (ohio traffic crash report # 10-0331-91).

Unknown Or Other problem #11

1. Exterior lights and turn signal lights burning out at a rate of every 500 miles. Audi will not replace. 2. Wiper transmission has corroded, seized, failed, and consequently burned out the wiper motor 2x now - once at 40,000 miles and again at 80,000. Audi would not cover this under the initial new car warranty, and they demand $750+ to fix this faulty assembly. 3. Coolant and wiper fluid tanks are made out of cheap plastic. I've had 2-3 leaks in each tank due to holes in these tanks across the life of the car. The most recent coolant tank leak was pushing coolant through so fast that it burned up my engine and my timing belt snapped. I had to pay for this repair - $2,000+. These are just 3 problems among countless costly problems I've incurred since the 3-year warranty ran out on my Audi. I've easily matched the $35k+ cost of the car with parts and repairs, and the car only has 88,000 miles on it. The coil pack recall has been an issue at least every 2,000 miles. I cannot make a trip of more than 100 miles without a coil snapping, a trip to the dealership, and an argument with service reps about whether or not I have to pay for these coil repairs. 88,000 miles later, the A4 I purchased brand new is basically not safely drivable except to run short errands around the city. All of this is not even to mention the cheap materials that went into the car interior. Leather is wearing in places no one even sits, and all the rubberized buttons have peeled away. Please help. Audi will do nothing. I've spoken to others who have this same make and model sitting in a garage because it is no longer drivable. There are 2 known recalls on this car, but there is something more serious going on with the build than just the coil pack and fuel injector. My car has stalled and seized on relatively short highway trips despite routine maintenance and attention to recalled parts.
