While driving, on or off the highway steering stiffens making it hard or impossible to make turns. It is a scary situation, which forced me to pull over on the highway once- I was not able to switch lanes due to the hardness of the steering wheel. This occurs randomly, at anytime or speed, even at slow speeds while driving in the neighborhood. It occurs to either side, sometimes one side of the wheel or both sides.

I went to press the button to disable start/stop mode. The button to do this is next to the electronic stability control button. I accidentally pressed the esc button and shut of electronic stability. **these two buttons should not be next to each other. ** there should be a way to default to disabled start/stop mode.

Initially drove car home from grocery store hit a bump and noticed a spark coming from front driver's side of car. Pulled over and checked for spark evident once stopped there was no sign of spark or anything. Got car home and parked about an hour later my car was on fire, after putting the fire out my husband lifted the hood and tried to investigate the issue when he discovered the battery was melted to the hood and is where the fire initially caught. The location of the battery we believe to be the issue and wanted to make sure to report it immediately.

While driving on highway all interior electrical systems shut down. Cruise control feature was disabled for several hours. While stopped at a light, Audi pre sense was engaged and seatbelts tightened unnecessarily. Parking sensors cause car to quickly stop unnecessarily while reversing out of driveway or parallel parking. Noise coming from the trunk at left rear wheel area when driving over bumps in road, rivet was replaced. Car was taken to hendricks Audi south austin for repairs multiple times.
The electrical power steering became defective while driving down the road at 75 mph. The steering wheel locked up and pulled to the right, nearly causing a high speed collision with a semi. The error message "steering is defective, do not drive vehicle" displayed and has not gone away.

I was driving on the highway in rainy conditions. (driving according to speed limit) and I suddenly lost control. The car wouldn't turn when I turned the wheel and started veering out of the lane. It then turned into the opposite direction into traffic and eventually spun to a stop.

Loss of power or late response to throttle. Tcs and abs light limininted after replacing sensor. Vibertion in passenger side around 50 mph or braking. Replaced ignition coil twice.
A few days ago I had an accident. I made a left turn onto the expressway ramp at 42 mph. The road was wet and Audi in the middle of the turn activated “precrash sensors” and began to brake hard and the system locked the steering wheel. The car was completely uncontrollable and crashed the front wheel into the high curb, which damaged the wheels, rim and axles. The Audi exchange dealership in IL checked and the sensors are functioning properly. They claimed that I imagine things that do not exist as they said it was impossible for the car to take control and to brake the car. They also said I do not have theses feature on the car, but the car is so equipped with this technology. ( because many times it happened to me out of the car started to brake without a reason to brake, when I tried to go around bikers at the safe distance, or when parking. When I made the complaint in the Audi dealer they told me that this is not possible, and laughed in June). I am aware that I was moving fast but from my experience I know that I could do this turn without an accident. Previously I owned a 2013 BMW 528 xdrive and the car several times slip on the snow and I could control the car still. I believe the presense sensors activates the collision avoidance system resulting in a loss of control in the car and subsequent accident.
I have a 2005. 5 Audi A4 2. 0t quattro which has encountered a failure of the abs/esp electrical module. The result is failure of the esp system and the abs system. This is the result of a faulty electrical module which many forums describe as a frequent occurrence and as a result a redesign by the manufacturer. The Audi part is ~$1900. Based on the experience of many owners and the safety implications I would expect the manufacturer to cover the costs of correcting the defect.

I was driving on rout 62 with my 16 year old niece and my car felt like it went into neutral, the lights on the dash started flashing. The brake pedal felt tight but I was able to pull over without causing an accident. It keeps happening and I am afraid to drive. (especially knowing there is an open recall because my airbags may not work or worse, cause severe injury due to metal shrapnel) I also read that my car has a hidden defect that the timing chain can go at any time, causing catastrophic engine failure. I brought it to an independent Volkswagen Audi mechanic where they did a diagnostic. He told me to bring it to someplace that specializes in transmissions. I looked in my owners manual and under transmissions. It says if this happens drive it to your nearest Audi shop. I emailed Audi because I read that there were recalls and technical service bulletins about the diagnostic code p0606. I saw that there are many class action lawsuits and complaints all about the same problem with my car. I can't wait years for a class action lawsuit. I live in new england and it's getting cold. This is my only car. I bought 6 months ago, in November. I have done all the service and maintenance recommended by Audi. What ever it is that is wrong with my car, Audi has fixed other cars but not fixing mine and my car. I take excellent care of my car, inside and out. It has been serviced at every recommend milage date. Nothing has ever gone neglected. My car is completely inoperable and it is due to defects that were made during manufacturing. I do not trust Audi customer service or the Audi service center.

2 incidents of total loss of power including steering. Twice in the last year traveling normally at low speed the car ceased to function. Today I was traveling about 25 mph taking a slight right hand curve when the car died. I was almost rear ended. Power was lost and I had great difficulty pulling it off the road. It would barely coast. I restarted the car and it was fine. The first time it happened I thought it was a fluke but now it has happened twice.

Whilst driving on the interstate in a downpour esp and epc lights lit up and the car went into limp mode, disabling the majority of engine power. This has happened prior only in wet rainy conditions.
Can't star and epc light on.
Sudden accelaration was observed several times while driving Audi A4. However, no accidents occured due to this. Audi should take a look into possible elctromechanical problems in 2013 Audi.
The brakes spontaneously engage with no warning.
I purchased the vehicle on 02/11/2012 and that very evening when I had the opportunity to use the lights, my right light began to flicker and then failed completely. This really unnerved me as I was in an area with no street lights. And didn't really know what was happening. I instinctively turned the lights off and then on again, and this made them come back on. Unfortunately, this happened numerous times that night. I feel this is a blatant safety issue especially as I had family members in my car and their well being was compromised. I have researched this problem via the internet and it appears to be rampant on Audi's and the dealerships don't either know what to do or don't want to do it as for the expense of the parts. I spoke with no less than 8 Audi dealerships around the PA northeast and no one could positively say what would be the problem. I am having the bulb replaced at my cost because I bought the car used and have no warranty. Now I know why I was able to purchase it at a good cost. Last owner was probably crazy over this. By all accounts, even replacing the bulb might not work. There are no less than 4 TSB's out on this problem. Why Audi gets away with this is a travesty and this should be remedied as soon as possible before someone gets killed.
Hi. I have a 1998 Audi A4 6 cylinder quatro5 speed. It has 97k miles. The abs light has come on and I understand that it is a common failure. Approx. $1700 repair at the dealer. I understand that vw has had a recall for exactly the same issue with exactly the same part. It seems like such a recall should extend the Audi using the same part, which has a high failure rate. It seems to be a very serious safety issue and should be recalled and repaired by Audi. . Read more...

Hello:
recently I had a failure with the abs braking system on my 2000 Audi A4, 2. 8l. This failure was verified by the Audi dealer in wilmington, DE. From the dealer and according to many articles, this failure is common with this make. So common, that Audi/vw did a recall on vw's, but not on Audi's. This is not fair and I am hear to voice my safety concern.
