1 Tire problem of the 2025 Audi A5

Failure Date: 03/04/2026

Audi A5 quattro purchased new 06/2025. Dealer = Audi lakeland 1215 griffen road lakeland, FL 33805 phone: (863) 284-0880 contact = service manager gary downey tire = bridgestone turanza ls100 235/45r18 98h reo (extra load) run flat tire tire also includes “enliten” - don’t know if that is part of model name brought vehicle in to dealer for first oil change at 9,006 miles on odometer. Dealer inspected tires and reported both front tires were red/32” and 2 rear tires were yellow at 5/32”. At 9,000 miles, this is obviously grossly premature tread/tire wear. For front tires to be unsafe to drive at fewer than 9,000 miles is unexpected and others need to be made aware of the risk of premature tread/tire wear to avoid dangerous blowouts that could result in accidents and injury. Feel lucky to have brought vehicle in 1,000 miles early for oil change and for dealer to have detected. Dealer replaced all 4 tires at no cost and tires are being shipped to bridgestone. I have dealer service technician video showing tire/tread wear but was unable to download here — perhaps due to length. Happy to forward if you want it.

3 Tire problem of the 2022 Audi A5

Failure Date: 09/15/2024

Nhtsa recall 24t009 continental claim number: 24317001 while driving on the highway from lake tahoe to los angeles with my family in the car, the front passenger-side tire unexpectedly exploded. The entire tread detached from the tire, causing damage to the right side of the vehicle as it separated. Prior to the incident, the car had undergone an inspection at an official Audi dealership, which included a tire inspection and alignment. No issues were identified at that time. The incident occurred in September 2024. The weather was extremely hot in the desert, so I was closely monitoring the tire pressure through the vehicle’s sensors. No abnormalities were detected before the sudden explosion. Fortunately, I was able to safely maneuver the vehicle off the highway despite the shock of the situation. It took several months for the Audi pacific service center to replace the tires and send them to continental for analysis. Continental has since denied reimbursement for the vehicle repairs, providing only a general report stating that the failure was unrelated to the recall. On January 17, 2025, I requested a more detailed analysis, including a comprehensive report with supporting images and videos. Continental indicated a one-week turnaround, but as of February 6, 2025, I have not received any further information. The important safety recall notice I received explicitly states that the affected tires may develop belt edge separation due to excessive flexing in the tread shoulder, leading to potential tread/belt loss. This description aligns precisely with the failure I experienced. However, continental has not provided any evidence or a substantive explanation as to why my case does not fall within the scope of the recall. Given the circumstances and the clear similarities between my experience and the recall description, I am requesting reimbursement for the repair costs resulting from this incident. My car is still not safe to drive because of the damage.

255/35r19 failure of 1 tire in July. Replaced tire. No concerns noted by discount tire when replacing it. 1 month later, another tire blew. Clear indication of safety concern so I replaced all tires. I have a picture of the damage, as well as of me literally changing the tire. Informed of recall - filed claim with continental - continental has denied my claim for reimbursement despite the pictures.

6 Tire problem of the 2023 Audi A5

Failure Date: 08/15/2024

The front tires were worn to interior cording. It was an uneven tire wear that resulted in an alignment. After getting the alignment checked, there was no issue with that and it was within correct specifications. The only reason this was found out was due to getting an oil change. My safety and others were put into major risk of the tires almost exploding. The car was listed as unsafe to drive according to professional opinion in documentation. There were no warnings about the tire. Only a letter in the mail from continental months later after the tires were replaced was it made aware the tires were defected.
