The entire infotainment screen spontaneously crashes leaving the screen completely black for 30 seconds to a minute while it resets. This happens randomly and quite frequently, on average every 5-10 minutes that the car is on. The whole infotainment system becomes unavailable including Audio and, most dangerously, the backup camera. I have had incidents where I am reverse parking and I check my side mirrors and when I look back at my screen to see how close I am to the car behind me, the system is in the middle of rebooting and the screen is blank. I have taken the car to the dealer and have been told it’s a known issue but there is no fix and nothing could be done. There is no warning as to when the system decides to reboot. I have also had it happen during a very important phone call and the bluetooth was disconnected entirely until the system finished rebooting. I could only imagine if that happened during an emergency call.

I was driving up a clear road, heard and exploding sound and witnessed my drivers side window shatter. The glass that was not protected by tint, I could hear crumbling into the frame. I could not see out of my window and thankfully did not swerve due to scare of the explosion sound. Upon looking online, others have experienced this with Audis. There were no warnings present. Vehicle has not been inspected or repaired yet. Nothing was noted in the road, no marks on vehicles.

Driving straight, about 60 mph on a two lane road, far removed from any other vehicles, my sunroof/moonroof glass exploded. There was no previous visible damage that I was aware of. No other vehicles around to have kicked up a rock or stone. Exploded without warning.

While driving on a straight, flat section of I-95 in florida at 70mph, my 2 year old 2018 Audi A5 cabrio's driver's side sun visor suddenly broke off at its base and landed with force on my steering wheel. I'd moved the visor into the up position, flush with the frame, and in doing so, the visor broke off at the base. I had not, nor had I ever, moved the visor with a lot of force. Even when the car was new, the visor had always been too tight, too short, and difficult to move. The resultant distraction of a heavy visor dropping onto my steering wheel caused me to swerve at 70mph. Fortunately traffic was light that day and no accident occurred. Due to a design flaw, the visor can't swing on its support bar as it should. After it broke off, I had to use vise grips to make it swing at all. I then tried lubricating the support bar inside the visor with wd-40, which did not help. Had I tried to reattach the visor with glue, the torque on the support bar caused by the visor's inability to swing freely on its axis suggests that it would instantly break off at the base again. The passenger side visor has not fallen off yet, but the same design will cause that to happen eventually. This vehicle had a 4 year/50k mile warranty, but I had just exceeded the mileage limit so it was no longer warranted. I notified both my Audi dealer and Audi USA about this safety issue. Audi USA says that they will not issue a service advisory or recall, and will not cover the present and future damage to both visors. Despite the sun visors being necessary safety equipment - especially in florida - Audi denies any culpability for this problem. There are many anecdotes online of this same problem from other drivers of this same year/make/model/interior color, and it is not unique to my vehicle. More specifically all the other incidents are happening to Audis with dark gray visors like mine.
I was driving my new 2018 Audi A5 cabriolet (approx. 4500 miles) on a local road. The driver side sun visor was in the down position when driving this morning headed into the rising sun. As the sun shifted from in front of me to my left side, I released the sun visor from the clip and moved it to the left side to block the sun. The arm of the sun visor, attached to the car just above the windshield, broke away from that attachment and fell into my lap (see attached photo p3110021). This left me with no protection from the intense sunlight, blinding me as the car turned to the left with the sun now in my eyes. This is the second time this has happened, the first time at about 1500 miles on a new vehicle (which was eventually repaired by the dealer, under warranty see attached scan_001). Both times, the sun visor broke away from the vehicle (see attached photo p3110020) while turning it to protect from sunlight on the left side of the vehicle. The passenger side sun visor also broke in the same manner (while moving it to protect from sun light on the right side) at about 2000 miles, and was repaired under warranty at the same time as the first driver side sun visor (same attachment referred to above). I consider this a safety issue because a) if headed into the sun, this immediately removes the sun blocking protection and could result in sudden blindness on the road ahead, and b) not having use of the sun visor could also impair vision while driving in a sunny environment, even if using sunglasses.
Audi of seattle confirmed 1/22/2018 that my car is functioning as designed, but I believe this design is unsafe and undesirable. Specifically, when driving in reverse using the backup camera view, if I receive an incoming cell phone call to my paired phone, the car prioritizes the telephone screen view over the backup camera screen view, which immediately disappears. Backing up is of course a time when the driver's arms and hands are not well positioned to poke the "ignore" button on the phone screen.

I received a bluetooth cell phone call while backing up in reverse, and the backup camera tv screen to my surprise was overridden by the phone call screen, losing my backup view.
I was driving my car in the freeway in sacrameto going to arden mall and as I was exiting going about 30 mph off the ramp I heard a very loud bang sound and as I looked up I noticed my sun roof (in the closed position) was cracked with the middle of the glass warping in and eventually shattered falling all over me and the interior as I kept driving. I've heard of the a8 and q5 models having similar issues (and actually being recalled one year) so this out a thought in my head. After doing research online there were many Audi vehicles with various models having the exact same issue as me. . I called the dealership to inform of this incident and they stated it was most likely a rock which I said can't be possible as there was nobody near the area I was in. All in all they said this would have to come out of my own pocket as it is not covered in my manufacturers warranty. I don't think I should be responsible for this as I did nothing wrong but drive the car. And seems as if many other Audi drivers had similar issues so it seems to be to be a defective glass.

The sun visor on my A5 has very little spring tension that allows it to freely move back and forth. I need to have it clipped when accelerating otherwise it will hit me in the face or hold it while making left turns (when positioned by the driver¿s window ¿ there is no clip there) to prevent it from striking me in the side of my head. This presents a distraction and possible safety issue. The sun visor clip's durability is also questionable since it has already been replaced at least 2 times. I have made repeated visits to the dealer about this issue and they have deemed it operating as intended. I have even written Audi about it and they have also refused to address the issue.
We have a new A5 convertible and used it in snow for the first time today. - within 3 minutes of a light snowfall the wipers began to ice up. The defroster was on high with the temperature at 80 with no improvement. - we had zero visibility - extremely dangerous. - my wife dropped me off at work and continued on a road that you cannot stop on to "clean the blades" and could not see but through a narrow 1/2" slot in the windshield!!
- I made it to work and asked two of my employees, one with an s5 and one with a wagon and they both have the same problem. - this is a safety issue that must be addressed. - my wife, who I purchased the vehicle for is now afraid to drive it with any snowfall. - I am looking forward to an immediate response since this is a very stormy season.

There is a serious design flaw with the 2010 Audi A5 and as a result the windshield wipers are unreliable in snow and rain causing severe restrictions on visibility while driving. There are two issues: 1. ) the automatic rain sensor overrides direct driver input so that sometimes when I turn them on, they do not stay on causing impaired vision. 2. ) the unique wiper design of the b8 platform means that the wiper blades themselves consistently turn into blocks of ice in winter driving. They are positioned below the defroster and, once frozen, cause severely impaired vision in already hazardous driving conditions. I've checked numerous online forums and this condition is occurring regularly to owners of Audi vehicles based on the b8 platfom (predominantly the a4/s4 and A5/s5. ) they all share the same rain sensor/ windshield wiper design, and it is a safety issue. The traction of quattro means nothing if you can't see!.
