Two problems related to fuel pump have been reported for the 1998 Audi A6. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Recall 00v137000. Consumer has been in constant contact with dealer and manufacturer about recall, and parts were not available.
O-ring seal of fuel pump has popped off, causing fuel spillage. Consumer drove vehicle for 3 miles and parked vehicle, and within that time frame the vehicle lost 5-6 gallons of fuel . Fire department were called to the scene and stated the amount of spillage was a serious fire hazard.
