Underhood Wiring problems of the 2000 Audi A6

1 Underhood Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2004

Install plastic cover on driver's side support on cross member and apply felt to left cross member end. Check front suspension lower control arms. The consumer requested reimbursement. There was an electrical short that disabled the vehicle and required extensive repairs for smoke and parts/wiring replacement. The electrical short on the driver's side behind the dash resulted in smoke and a strong burning plastic smell. Recall# 04v133000. The consumer had to pay to have the rubber boot and upper control arms replaced even though there was a recall for the control arms.

2 Underhood Wiring problem

Vehicle can be driven as manual or automatic. When driven as an automatic vehicle slips out of gear. This is due to a wire harness gone bad. Dealer told this to consumer.
