1 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2026 Audi A6

Failure Date: 03/10/2026

I own a new 2026 Audi A6 prestige that I just purchased and have 320 miles on so far. The vehicle is experiencing a driver assistance system malfunction. The instrument cluster repeatedly displays “driver assistance: limited,” along with warnings that lane assist and high beam assist are unavailable. The warning messages and Audible chimes occur repeatedly while driving, approximately every few seconds or minutes. The alerts and beeping repeatedly interrupt driving and create a distraction that takes the driver’s attention away from the road. This is a big safety issue. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Audi dealership. The dealer confirmed the issue but advised that the fix is a software update that has not yet been released by the manufacturer. Because the update is not yet available, the vehicle continues to operate with driver assistance safety systems disabled and with repeated warning alerts occurring during normal driving. The concern is that the repeated alerts and chimes during driving create a driver distraction and affect safe operation of the vehicle. The manufacturer has indicated a software update may be released in the future, but there is currently no repair available. This is a safety concern as it constantly takes me away from driving and looking at the constant alerts and beeps. These includes items such - alerts repeat while driving - driver-assistance safety systems unavailable - warning tones and pop-ups repeatedly distract the driver I do not blame the dealership as they have done everything they can do, but how can Audi not make this a top priority to be fixed. I am told that this is impacting almost all new Audi cars including the a5 and A6s. Thanks for your help. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. 5 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2019 Audi A6

Failure Date: 12/22/2022

Electrical system malfunction caused by a faulty generator which was confirmed by Audi connection (servicing dealership) in cincinnati, ohio.

6 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2019 Audi A6

Failure Date: 11/19/2022

I was driving on the interstate when the vehicle gave a warning saying "electrical system malfunction, contact dealership". I went to the dealership as I was within a couple of miles and they said it could be many things and they would need to evaluate it the following week. I left with the car and attempted to drive it back the following week on the scheduled appointment. The vehicle did not make it back to the dealership. While driving on the interstate back to the dealership, a message saying, "electrical system failure, safely exit roadway" came on. I was able to exit off the interstate immediately into a parking lot. While I was trying to exit, multiple warning lights came on saying the crash sensors were inoperable, transmission was inoperable, camera system was inoperable, and the car started shaking as if the engine was loose under the hood and it shut off and would not restart. This took less than about 90 seconds as I was at an exit and already in the right lane on the interstate. Audi care came and towed the vehicle and the dealer says the alternator has gone bad and it is on backorder. This is exceptionally dangerous because if I were not at an exit and in heavy traffic, this could have happened while I was in the middle of the interstate and the vehicle lost all power. I've since read Audi forum and found this exact scenario has happened to many drivers who were not as lucky to be near an exit or under warranty. Audi should recall the vehicle because it puts the driver in a very dangerous situation. I was stuck in an empty parking lot for several hours waiting for a tow but I consider myself lucky after reading the experience of other drivers. My car has been in the shop for three weeks now and I'm not sure when they will have it fixed. My warranty expires in the next few months so I may end up having to pay for repairs later because my warranty expired while the car sits at the dealer and I won't be able to test if it has been resolved.
