Body Problems of Audi A6

Dear highway safety authority officer I am writing to formally request an investigation into a potential safety concern involving structural rust on the engine subframe (engine cradle) of the Audi A6, particularly in models from 2012 there have been growing concerns among owners and independent mechanics regarding excessive and premature rust and corrosion affecting the structural integrity of the engine mounting frame. In some cases, this corrosion could potentially compromise the stability of the engine or the safety of the vehicle during operation. Given the importance of this component to both drivability and crash safety, this issue merits further inspection. I am bringing this to your attention in hopes that your office will investigate whether this represents a broader manufacturing or design defect, and if a recall or safety advisory might be warranted. Sunroof spontaneously shattered while driving. No other cars around when this occurred. Caused a very loud bang. Was driving on the freeway when this occurred. Dealer would not confirm issue was spontaneous - felt something must have hit the car to cause this. No defined impact location on roof. Also, roof glass was pushed up in the middle instead of down like would be expected if something hit it from the outside. No warning before it occurred.

This issue has been happening since I got the car and is getting worse by the day. The car only has about 11,000 miles and I bought it when it had almost 10,000 miles. Something in the dashboard and behind the instrument panels (a/c controls and user screens) makes a lot of vibration noises/sounds as the car is slowly accelerated or as we drive over some uneven road. It seems like there is something loose. And this is getting worse by the day. When you pay a top price for a luxury car like Audi you expect that the care is built solid and not with cheap parts. . . It is very disappointing to see that a luxury car like Audi A6 will make these type of noises when the car is practically brand new.

Problem#1 fuel door clip suddenly stopped closing, therefore I couldn't fully close it. Problem #2 trunk latch stuck, therefore I have to get into the trunk using the rear seats, then releasing the latch from inside. All this happened within 1 year of financing the vehicle.

My 6 week old Audi A6 was totaled when I was driving 20 mph! I looked down to check my odometer, and within that time, no warning signals , brakes, etc. Alerted me! this car had all the bells and whistles! that morning I was on a tree lined drive to the tennis courts! no alerts! hit a tree and all air bags deployed! tremendous impact for 20 mph! I was all banged up, car totaled! I am still in disbelief. . . Thought I had the world's safest car. Has anyone else had a problem???.

Got a warning light that adaptive cruise and braking were not available. According to the service dept. There was a seam in the body that was not welded properly in the manufacturing process. I have 6500 miles on my car. They said that water was leaking in on electrical modules. This problem happens while driving.

6 cars were damaged because hitting pothole on van wyck exp north bound close to exit 13, 4 cars tires burst and my car's lower mid section got hit resulting of breaking transmission oil pan and hoses. Police was called and pothole was fixed right away after this incident.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Audi A6. The contact stated that due to a void on the floorboard, her shoe heels pierced through the mat and onto the floorboard. The contact replaced the original mat with a rubber mat, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to Audi annapolis (1833 west street, annapolis, MD 21401) where the technician offered no solution other than to re-carpet the floor at half price. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and supported the dealer's recommendation. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

I was driving down the ramp towards the highway to enter onto toll road 73 when my sunroof just exploded. I was not driving under anything so nothing dropped from the air. I called the Audi dealership and indicated I did not know how that could happen but asked if any other Audi customers had reported anything similar and they said it was the first they had ever heard of it. I did a quick google search and have learned that other Audi customers have experienced the same thing. My concern is it was loud and fortunately I was able to maintain control of the vehicle while glass was showering down on me. It was very loud - like an explosion when it happened.

I was entering my garage and the car kept accelerating. I slammed into amy front wall doing lots of damage to the structures in and out as well as to my body. My car was totaled. My first accident ever and the scariest moment of my life. I have had prior acceleration/deceleration issues with this car. On at least 6 occasions, I was going downhill approaching a stop sign and the car seemed to stop responding (steering, braking, engine) and yet the rpm's were gong higher and the engine was racing. Very frightening since you did not know what would happen next!!!.

Consumer made a turn and about 2 gallons of water came out from under the front passenger's seat into the rear passengers seat floor board. Took vehicle to dealership, who said it could be that the condenser line wasn't plugged, and then a factory seal above the condenser was faulty. Supposedly fixed it, however, it recurred this past weekend.
