1 Front Suspension Lower Control Arm problem of the 2000 Audi A6

Failure Date: 07/01/2004

The contact purchased a 2000 Audi A6 in August 2003. The vehicle had 93,000 miles on it when purchased. The contact was not sure weather or not the 90,000 miles service was completed because he was not supplied with service records by Audi. A local dealer completed this work several months after this car was purchased. Later, the vehicle failed inspection because of wear on the control arms. This failure occurred in July 2004. The control arms were replaced by a local repair shop or Audi specialist, not the dealer. Within a month of the replacement the contact received a recall notice for the control arms. Contacted Audi, and was instructed to submit the repair invoice to Audi. No one was contacted for four months. When the contact further inquired, he was told the application was denied because Audi claimed that they were unable to contact him by phone. The reimbursement was refused because they vehicle service records were not included. However, the vehicle was previously an Audi lease vehicle and the records should have been available through Audi where the contact purchased this vehicle trough a broker.

3 Front Suspension Lower Control Arm problem of the 1998 Audi A6

Failure Date: 03/10/2004

Lower left control arm bolts broke free from subframe, damaging both front axles, bending subframe and flattening the front left tire. I was fortunate to get the vehicle from the travel lane without causing an accident. This is not a wear and tear part and should not have failed.
