Recently just purchased car at 64000 miles. 10 days after purchase, while driving on residential streets, noticed fuel odor, then vehicle shutting down. Unable to start, would crank but not start. Had to get towed. Next day added a gallon of gas, was able to start car, but immediately seen fuel spraying and leaking in engine, possibly from injectors, vacuum. Haven’t gotten repaired yet as I am trying to either have dealership fix issues or Audi due to known issues/recall. Hoping to receive some resolution to start repairs.

I received a warning and multiple dash lights indicating electrical malfunction. Upon coming to a red stoplight, the car died and would not restart. After the light turned green, I was nearly rear-ended by a large truck traveling at ~50 mph but luckily it was able to swerve out of the way. After about 10 minutes, the car restarted but the warning messages persisted. I drove immediately to the dealership for service where they diagnosed an issue with the mild hybrid 48v battery system and starter/generator/alternator. There are no parts available and it is sitting at the dealership along with at least 12 similar vehicles with the same issue. This needs to be recalled immediately as it is a major safety issue as I was nearly in a major accident due to the issue.
I am reaching out to update complaint number 11503265. Back in October of 2022, my vehicle turned off on me one time at the gas station and would not start until I waited 5 minutes. The vehicle did the same thing about 15 minutes later after I arrived at a friends' house. Following that incident later on that night it happened again. I have also had some issues with the vehicle not accelerating.
The cars fuel sender has an issue. The gas gauge shows that the tank is half full and it doesn’t move. The car thinks it’s out of gas and just stops. It’s happened three times in the last month.
I have reached a gas station and I am unable to open the fuel filler flap. Apparently this is a known issue to Audi service departments on Audi’s of this generation not just the A7 model. The problem is apparently intermittent, and apparently worse during winter months. In the next generation vehicle the ful filler flap housing has been redesigned to solve the fuel filler flap not opening problem. Since the car cannot go with our gas, this is clearly a design error, and could leave people stranded mid-winter. Not good here in the north-east.
Similar to a complaint I read above, I do often have concerns over the start/ stop system. When the hybrid system is active, it's extremely sensitive in activating (not only when cars are in front but also pedestrians just walking by. However, sometimes when stopped at a light, stop sign, etc. When I press the gas after the engine reengages, the car often has a serious lag and does not accelerate for several seconds, to the point where I have to wonder if it's actually on (it is) the concern is that drivers behind me, if not extremely cautious could rear end me. I've been honked at several times, due to this issue on normal roads. Thankfully, no incidents or accidents have occurred, but I fear it could only be a matter of time, if this persists, particularly in stop and go highway traffic.
The start stop system is always active upon each driving session of the vehicle. However at times the hybrid system when it kicks in, doesn't activate the engine quickly enough so when I press the gas pedal it is not responsive and I can't propel forward. This is of concern when I'm not at a traffic light and the start stop system kicks in during stop and go traffic.
Both exhaust pipes protrudes out and very hot after parked/engine off. If person leans slightly in to unload articles from trunk, passengers needs to be aware pipes sticks out and can cause skin burns to lower extremity.
The contact owns a 2012 Audi A7. After driving, the contact parked the vehicle and noticed an abnormal odor upon exiting the vehicle. While waiting in line at a store, a passerby informed the contact that there was smoke coming from the vehicle as flames erupted from the front of the vehicle to the interior of the vehicle. Several police officers noticed the fire and one of the officers notified the fire department whom extinguished the flames. A police report was not filed. The fire inspector indicated that there was a mechanical error. The failure occurred a week after the vehicle was serviced by gerald jones Audi (4022 washington rd, martinez, GA 30907, (706) 760-2462). The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 17v781000 (fuel system, gasoline), but the contact did not receive a recall notification. The vehicle was towed to a facility. The contact notified the manufacturer. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

The contact's son owns a 2012 Audi A7. The contact's son noticed a fuel and burning odor coming from the vehicle. Shortly afterwards, the vehicle caught fire. The fire department was contacted and extinguished the fire. A police report was filed. No injuries were sustained. The manufacturer was contacted and came out to inspect the vehicle, but could not determine the cause of the fire. An unknown dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
The automatic start/stop fuel-saving engine feature engages prematurely, before the vehicle has come to a complete stop. As a result, the vehicle feels like the brakes have been artificially and aggressively applied to bring the car to a complete stop before the start/stop engine feature otherwise should have engaged. As a result, for vehicles following close behind, the effect will be that the Audi vehicle in front of them will appear to lurch to a stop, thus creating a risk of a rear-end collision. This issue happens each and every time the start/stop feature is active, and typically involves artificial and premature braking/stopping at low speeds as the vehicle is approaching what would otherwise be its natural stopping point based on the driver-applied pressure to the brake pedal.
