Steering Problems of Audi A7

Driving on the freeway and all of a sudden steering wheel stops working gets so stiff the electrical steering wheel colum componet stops working. Just about crashed. Thank goodness no one in freeway. Tps lights goes on. Payed all the diagnoises and says weeks to order the part. Says don't drive. Red warning light. Did 3 diagnosis and its the cpu componet that controls the dashboard and flip screen rear tail that should raise at 75 I believe you have to click the button to activate if the car lets you. No screen on flip screen went out when driving with gps on in the middle of a storm. The traction on the car is off . Audi says 8,000 dollars for the steering wheel componet they say very hard and expensive to fix.

The alternator malfunctioned and was not available for inspection upon request my safety was put at risk as the car ceased to move while driving on high speeds on the hwy the problem has been reproduced by several other Audi owners. This is a widespread issue putting multiple lives at risk the vehicle component has been inspected by the manufacture there were no malfunctions happening prior I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden, all the lights were going off on the car. Alot of malfunctioning. First message was electrical system malfunction, then rear spoiler malfunction and the car ceased to begin moving. I had to park it in the merging lane and feared for my safey. I decided to call Audi for a jump start. The car started but as soon as the cables were removed the car died again. I had to then call for a tow truck to take the car to the dealership. All this happened while I was cold and stuck in the middle of a busy highway street. I was told by Audi this is a widespread issue. They did not provide a loaner car as they said they were out and ive been on the waiting list for the past 3 weeks. They also said the parts were back ordered and I can be looking at 3-6 months without my car. No reinbursement for the car payments either and im limited to a rental for $50 a day max which I would have to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed while paying for the car note as well. This is unacceptable.

Starter generator failure of the 48v mild hybrid system. This issue is very common, and has a recall on the 2019+ Audi a6 (however its because of a risk of electrical fire). Car sends errors to driver as many electrical components begin to fail and fault one by one, steering wheel dynamics shifted while in motion (as steering module failed), air suspension faults occurred. The car inevitably died during operation. Was stuck inside of vehicle, the internal door handles are powered by the 48v system, they are not mechanical latches. Car stalls out when the 48v battery fails. I have had this part replaced on my car, dealership says there are 8 just like it in the past 2 months. Very common issue for Audi's. As more of these find their way on the road, each car magnifies the risks to vehicle owners and other drivers as these issues are becoming more in more common in 3 year old Audi models.

I had just purchased a used 2019 A7 prestige and the next day (April 1st) while coming back from an appointment 7 miles away I had five electrically related failures in a very short time frame. The last error message was ominous so I was glad I was in my driveway when it happened. When the spoiler failure happened it automatically popped up. In addition to all these failures the ac was not working. So it seems to be an electrical system wide issue. Alas, this is a known issue with the 2019 a6, A7, and a8 models. I've posted the error messages in an online Audi owners site to spread the word and found many, many more people that have had this same issue. Note: the vehicle in/out mileage on the service report is incorrect. The correct numbers are 37702/37705. The car sat at the dealership for days before the repair parts arrived. There we no loaner cars available which caused additional inconvenience.

As I was driving with my 4 year old daughter in the vehicle, while making a left turn my vehicle steering wheel locked or seemed to lock on me with no warning, and then the "do not drive vehicle" indicator appeared. Thank god I was able to safety steer into a driveway. Inspection is available upon request. The defect of the vehicle could have cause major bodily injuries to me and my daughter and anyone within a few feet of my vehicle. No warning signs appeared at all prior to this incident happening, this malfunction came without notice. Im very concerned with the manufacturing defect and issue on this and many Audi's vehicle that have this same issue and could possible be life threating not only for the driver but anyone. I still get anxiety when thinking of this incident and the panic that happen.

An alert when I started my car stated that the steering system had a fault but it was ok to continue driving. Later that evening during my drive home, and about 20 miles from the start of the trip, the car then provided an alert for a steering system failure and to stop driving. The power steering appears to have stopped working - the car could only turn the wheels with great effort.

The vehicle collapsed while using the vehicle jack to raise the car to remove the front driver's side wheel. The jack was inserted into the plastic jack saddle located in the driver's side rocker panel. The vehicle was raised approximately 4 inches, the wheel was removed, and the jack saddle broke and dislodged from the vehicle causing the vehicle to suddenly and abruptly fall to the ground. The driver's side rocker panel, front fender, door, and front stabilizers were damaged. Additionally, I could have been crushed had I been under the vehicle at the time. The vehicle was stationary in a controlled environment inside a finished residential garage with a flat concrete floor. The incident was reported to Audi of pensacola and Audi of America for review. Neither accepted any responsibility for the malfunction or defective product and advised me to simply report it to my insurance company for repair reimbursement.

Takata recall, my airbag light has been on since April 2018. Audi of annapolis informed me that I have to purchase another steering wheel for $4000 to replace a faulty airbig, why? I have no horn and no air bag and I'm terrified to drive my car. I've been renting cars since April. My car is also overheating when it's idle for 10 minutes, however, when I start driving it cools down. I see recalls for other Audi models, why not the 2012 A7?.
