Car went dead on the hwy without any warning. Dealer has the vehicle for a month now and says there is metal shavings in fuel and need more than 15000/- in repairs to replace fuel pump, 6 fuel injectors fuel line and fuel rail. Metal shavings come from fuel pump failure there should be micro filters in line to stop them from entering the fuel line and injector with sudden death.

Audi, A8l 2013, also has the stuck piston. Rings end oil blow by like the other Volkswagen, defected engines of the same year yesterday while driving my car ended up stalling on a road with traffic behind me going up a hill because too much oil I'd burnt in the cylinders, causing the spark plugs to become completely coated in oil and the cars. Electronic system registered multiple misfires, multiple cylinders. Are misfired and multiple other safety epc codes, causing the vehicle to not be able to drive more than 5 miles an hour, stuttering. Which also caused the engine to almost stall, losing power steering. If this was on the highway this could have been exceptionally bad. I request the Audi ah. L and 8 series to be added to the current recall. For the a6q5a4 a seven with the exact same problem.

The oil strainer needs to be replaced in my car. This is a known issue with Audi and there are many recalls on Audis, with the exception of mine. I read that this can lead to the engine stopping and causing an accident and it can ruin the engine. This has been problem has been reported to me by an independent service center.
Fuel pump leak, dealer claimed the seal is broken from the manufacture, gave out strong gasoline smell.

Failure both turbos purchased Audi naples Jan 2018 maintained at Audi ft myers Audi while on a vacation from our home in florida to new england our Audi A8 experienced a major turbo failure while on an interstate highway. On 8/6/21 I was traveling in the middle lane of i495 at 65 mph, when traffic slowed, the car stalled. With cars passing me on both sides I eventually managed to get the car started and made it to exit 15 (rt44) going toward Plymouth, MA. This truly was a scary situation, waiting to be rear ended. While on rt 44 it died again in traffic. I managed to make it into the breakdown lane. At about 2:55 pm a state trooper stopped and asked if he could help me get to a safer spot but by that time I had called aaa. At 3:30pm aaa arrived and towed us to a safe spot. At no time before, during or after this failure did I receive any message or warning that this failure was imminent. The car was taken to Audi norwell and diagnosed with defective turbos due to failure of turbo shaft bearings . The screens were clogged preventing oil from reaching the bearings. The turbos were the original equipment. I have read in the Audi forum this is not an uncommon problem. I understand the screens have been redesigned as a result.
For technician report, go https://getpe. Co/4zt0j2 while driving on a major central NJ highway, slowing to exit, the vehicle shuddered and stalled in lane. The engine epc light came on and a message to put the car in park to start the engine followed. This made it impossible to move the car off the road. It was necessary to stand behind the vehicle and wave traffic around. A passerby was able to get the car started and moved it off the exit and to a service road shoulder. The car shuddered and died again. Traffic was heavy and the situation was quite dangerous. The car was taken to the dealer. The turbocharger impeller shaft and fins were damage. Please see above link. Also, please see Audi technical bulletin 2044640. This is not a unique event.
With wife driving and four young children in car, gas pedal became stuck in full acceleration. Pedal had to be pulled up by hand while mashing brakes in order to avoid crash.

Driving at speed limit on us highway in heavy traffic in the near northern suburbs of chicago, experienced sudden loss of power. Vehicle began running very rough and eventually stalled in left lane. Sudden lack of power, stall and unanticipated loss of speed nearly caused accident and did cause major traffic back up. Vehicle was towed to local shop. Diagnosis determined cause of sudden power loss was damaged turbochargers (x2). Turbo impeller bearings were completely destroyed due to lubrication starvation, which caused disintegration of turbocharger impellers. Shop indicated this is a known problem with the Audi (vag) 4. 0 twin turbo v-8 engines. Supporting this notion, the dealer had the turbos and associated repair parts in stock (over $6,000 of parts). Vehicle is meticulously maintained by certified Audi dealer. Vehicle indicated about 63,000 miles on odometer at time of incident. Vag uses this engine in several models across the Audi line: s6, s7, rs7, A8, and s8 (some modifications between some models).
I took my car in for a recall item to be replaced and I was informed that my fuel rail was leaking gas. They didnt say it was urgent so I left the dealership and on my was home I has the strong smell of gas. I then took my car to another Audi repair hop for a second opinion and was told that it was spraying fuel and that it was too dangerous to drive. He also said that my car was not old enough to have this type of leak so it may be a defect . He also said it appeared to have been leaking for some time based on the amount of residue he saw near the leak.

The transmission coolant valve leaked coolant on to the engine control module causing it to malfunction. The card stopped while in motion in the middle of the busy street and I was almost hit buy a semi truck. It started back up, I got it to a parking lot and it stopped again. I have found no less than 50 online complaints about this problem. Most of the complaints state that the manufacturer was "aware" of the problem.

The brake and gas pedals are too close. I consistently hit the brake while accelerating. They need to be spaced farther apart, and the brake pedal moved to the left. There are comments all over the internet about this problem and Audi service says there is no fix. I have large feet and have never had this problem with any other car manufacturer. I need the NHTSA to get involved before someone gets hurt. This is a very big defect that needs to be fixed.

Tl- the contact owns a 2001 Audi a-8. The contact statd that upon trying to change gears into drive, the vehicle would not move forward and that there was no response upon pressing the acceleration pedal. The vehicle was able to be placed into reverse but not into drive. The contact stated that the independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and stated that the fuel filler neck needed to be replaced which was causing the failure. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 08v397000 (power train) and NHTSA campaign id number: 01v259000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was to be further diagnosed by the independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000. Dyd.

Depressing accelerator at first failed to move the car; then it surged until braked; then it failed to move the car on the next depression; again followed by a surge. This happened as I was turning into a lane of oncoming cars where I had plenty of time to make the turn safely but that time was chewed up trying to get the car moving. The exact same thing happened again except this time I expected non-performance and waited 2 or 3 minutes for all traffic to stop at a light. Then the same thing happened again. There is no doubt this could lead to a fatal crash.
While accelerating to get on the parkway my car locked at 7000 rpm's and continued to accelerate with my foot off the accelerator. I was forced to put the car in nuetral to avoid an accident, if I were not an experienced driver this could have caused a fatality in the car was at 80 mph and quickly rising. The tachometer continued at 7000 rpm for roughly 20 seconds, only after continually tapping the accelerator it finally began to decline. Please look into this life threatening situation. Additionally my tire pressure light remains on even when all tires are at the factory recommended settings.

Mine is a well-maintained, near-pristine, low-mileage car. Without warning or prior indication of a problem, the transmission suddenly ceased to operate correctly while traveling on a busy, four-lane urban highway. It resulted in the car having limited forward motion, poor control, and vastly diminished power, making it extremely difficult to maneuver in traffic. I narrowly avoided a collision with other cars. I managed to drive the car back about 20 miles to my residence in the limp-home mode--one forward gear, the engine revving between 3000 to 5000 rpm's with the forward speed no more than 35 mph. I parked the car and left it for a week while traveling. When I returned it would not move in any gear. I had it towed on a flat-bed truck to an Audi dealer. The problem was diagnosed as an inoperable, unrepairable transmission brought about when "a bolt separated from the transmission housing causing a hose to leak transmission fluid which resulted in burnt parts and gears. The cost of a new transmission was $6,800--on a car with only 50,546 miles! after reporting the incident to Audi corporate, I was informed that Audi could not be held responsible for this event because there were "no open campaigns or service actions" relative to this model. I was very dissatisfied with this response since I have been a long-time Audi owner/driver of the A8 and other models. My internet research indicates that the transmission of the A8-d2 models (1997-99) has been a very weak component part on these cars. Please help.
