Audi Allroad owners have reported 3 problems related to equipment (under the equipment category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I am disabled, but I could not find a vehicle in stock with all the safety features to help me drive and be protected. Since these are basically software and some inexpensive hardware, I assumed that the features could be upgraded much like computers. I asked the dealer and Audi customer service if they could add the features to me new car. They said it couldn't be done. Later I did find parts in germany, but the dealer wouldn't install them (I. E. Buy a new car and loose $5,000 or more dollars). I believe modern autos should be made easily upgradeable for say 3 years after purchase. This would help people like myself to have better and safer drivabilty. Btw boeing safety feature, macs, in the 737max airplanes that killed over 300 people were only installed as an additional option at cost. Many of the airlines did not take this seriously and did not order the feature or train enough, so the safety feature has to be installed and the pilots trained to use macs. Please make these cars upgradable so we can get front cameras, side detection, lane detection, crash detection, blind spot detection in every car. Save a few lives. . It will make you feel good.

While driving down the interstate the moon roof spontaneously exploded! it was not hit by anything, it just exploded. I have done a little research and have found that Audi has had a problem in the past with faulty glass causing their moon roofs to explode and had to issued a recall for this problem. I contacted Audi and requested them to replace my moon roof. They gave me the run around and then unfortunately, decided that they are unwilling to assist me with the replacement of my own moon roof because it was not one of the models recalled and my car is over 10 years old so it is out of warranty. Thank god my children were not in the car to be injured by exploding glass and thank god it was 5:00 in the morning so there was no traffic around for the explosion to have caused an accident! Audi has treated this like it's not big deal, something that should be expected to happen after owning one of their cars for 10 years, and that it is my problem for having an "old" car. Shame on Audi for not taking responsibility for this!.

Rainwater leaked into the vehicle, collecting in the passenger footwell, shorting out several electrical components. I understand vw/Audi vehicles have a history of this occurring due to firewall/pollen filter/sunroof deficiencies which allow this to happen and they and their dealerships are very uncooperative in even acknowledging such a problem exists in the design of these vehicles. This is an obvious inherent design flaw. Audi is very unfair to consumers to deny such a problem exists and they should be held accountable. At no time during any regular service was it ever suggested that these drain plugs should be cleaned - while the cleaning of the sunroof rails were??? no owner could possibly be aware that such a disaster awaits them if these inaccessible drain plugs aren't cleaned.
