The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the tire pressure sensor showed a “ left rear tires low pressure” the contact also had heard a “humming” noise was coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact pulled off the road into a service station and found that the rear driver side tire had only 20 psi. The contact filled the tire to 35 psi and continued on to his destination. The vehicle was taken to a tire dealer who reported that while dismounting the tire the inside side wall had a 3 inch gash large enough that the technician could fit his hand through the gash. The tire was replaced, as the passenger side rear tire was inspected it also showed a 10 inch gash had separated from the inside side wall had been found. The tire was also replaced. However, upon inspection, the contact found a hole the size of a quarter on the tire. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while driving approximately 20-30 mph, the rear driver’s side tire sustained a blowout.
