1 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 03/31/2026

Vehicle experiences sudden, intermittent loss of motive power, severe engine hesitation, and stalling while operating at highway speeds. Diagnostic scans confirm fault codes p2015 and p0341, indicating a failure of the intake manifold position sensor and camshaft position correlation. These mechanical failures, combined with extreme carbon buildup on the valves, create a hazardous operating condition where the vehicle cannot maintain safe speeds in high-traffic environments. The manufacturer (Audi) has acknowledged the intake manifold failure—which is a known defect under an extended 120,000-mile warranty—but refuses to remediate the consequential engine damage (carbon buildup) caused by the faulty manifold and a previous oil overfill incident at a certified dealership (chapman Audi of tucson). Despite a 12-month documented history of seeking repairs for these safety symptoms, the dealership repeatedly failed to diagnose the manifold defect, instead clearing codes and returning the vehicle to the road. This systemic failure resulted in a hazardous operating condition that now puts the driver at immediate risk of rear-end collisions due to unpredictable engine stalling. By refusing to perform the necessary top-end cleaning required to restore the engine to a safe state, Audi is knowingly allowing an unsafe vehicle to remain in service. This represents a significant risk to public safety and a failure to address a documented powertrain defect that compromises vehicle control.

2 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 12/18/2025

When I go to fill up gas in my car when its nearing empty, I put the hose in to fill it up and it stops almost immediately. Sometimes it leaks out.

3 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 12/08/2025

Evap canister keeps throwing check engine light even after replacement of all components.

4 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 12/01/2025

The vehicle emits a smell of fuel into the cabin of the car, and if the windows are up, this makes the driver sleepy and could cause a crash. It does not read fuel levels properly. The car has been taken to butler, who said they could not find a problem. It was then taken to Audi agusta (gerald jones), they replaced a fuel line that had to be correctly tigheted by another servicer autobahn automotive in augusta GA. That all happened in October and November of 2025. It is December 2025 with the same issue and no correction at this point.

5 Other Fuel System problem of the 2025 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 11/16/2025

While driving my brand new 4-day old 2025 Audi Q3 at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly lost engine power and shut off without warning. At the time of the incident the fuel gauge indicated approximately 1/4 tank remaining and there were no prior warnings. I was forced to pull over in traffic, creating a dangerous situation. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. I was initially told the vehicle had "run out of gas", despite the fuel gauge showing fuel remaining. This same failure occurred a second time under similar conditions, again while driving at highway speeds with fuel indicated on the gauge. The vehicle stalled and shut off unexpectedly, requiring another tow. During the second repair visit, Audi technicians confirmed that the fuel tank's internal level sensor was defective and that the vehicle was inaccurately reporting fuel levels. Audi's technical assistance center instructed the dealer to replace the entire fuel tank assembly on this brand-new vehicle. This defect caused repeated loss of engine power while driving, creating a serious safety risk to myself and other motorists. I no longer feel the vehicle is safe to operate due to the risk of sudden stalling without warning.

6 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 11/04/2025

I purchased my 2020 Audi Q3 in August of 2020. I am submitting this complaint regarding the recurring and unacceptable issue with my Audi. In February of 2023 my vehicle started shaking and stalled while driving. I could not restart for awhile, after a few minutes it restarted. I took it to Audi and they verified that the output of fuel pump did not meet minimum flow. They replaced the pump. Then in November of 2025 my car stalled again, doing the same thing, after a few minutes it would restart but kept intermittently stalling. This fuel pump malfunctioned again, and now this time both of them were not working properly. Both the high pressure and low pressure fuel pump was replaced again in January 2026. Having to replace a major component like the fuel pump twice on a 2020 luxury vehicle is unreasonable and deeply concerning. A fuel pump failure is not a minor inconvenience, it affects the reliability, safety and drivability of the vehicle.

7 Other Fuel System problem of the 2021 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 03/19/2025

I am reporting a recurring fuel system defect affecting my Audi Q3, consistent with safety recall 20yf – suction jet pump. The problem began as difficulty refueling and now mirrors an identical issue I experienced with a previous Audi a3, which ultimately leaked fuel severely both while driving and when parked. That incident put me and my passengers in danger and caused breathing difficulties from fumes. The Q3 now shows the same early signs — gas pump shutoff, failed refueling attempts, and multiple $200 credit card holds at stations without fuel entering the tank. Audi replaced the tank in 2024, but the issue returned. This is not an ordinary maintenance issue — it is a serious safety hazard. Audi’s solution has been to keep replacing the part, while denying a vehicle replacement or compensation. They redirected me to bbb, but I felt it was necessary to report this publicly. If the gas leak recurs, it could lead to fire or poisoning. The fuel system should not fail like this, and I want to ensure no one else faces this danger. If anything happens to me as a result, I will pursue further legal action.

8 Other Fuel System problem of the 2021 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 01/20/2025

The car stalled while driving. There were no warning lights or indicators before the failure. The car was unable to be restarted so it was towed to a mechanic. It was discovered the car was out of gas however the gauge read there was still a lot of gas in the tank. We then took the car to an Audi service center and they informed us it was one of the gas tank sensors that was faulty. They replaced the first sensor and charged us $1k and that didn’t fix the problem so they contacted Audi and were told it was a faulty second sensor inside the gas tank and the only fix is to replace the whole tank. We opted not to replace the tank at this time. After further research I found that the sensor we had replaced is recalled on other Audi models of the same year recall #22v155 I believe more investigation and recall is needed to include the q series Audis as well as further investigation into the gas tanks internal sensor that requires a replacement of the whole system.

9 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 11/26/2024

The fuel pump is what the issues is with my 2022 Audi Q3 it has been replaced twice in three years of me having the vehicle the first time was in November 2022 a year after I got it came out of the store, and it would not start. The second time I was in a fast-food restaurant line, and it just cut off in line, so I had to try and get it started and out of the line before it cut off again got it tow into the dealership, and it was replaced again in November 2024.

10 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 02/27/2024

My 2022 Audi Q3 was recalled for a safety recall related to a fuel tank internal vent pipe. I took my car to the dealer for the recall and after inspection I was told that my car did not exhibit the defect stated in the recall and did not need repair. Approximately 15 months later (total mileage 14962) the check engine light came on and after taking to the dealer for inspection I was told that the issue was with the fuel system but there was no repair currently available and that Audi was aware of the problem and would contact me. They deleted the code that would trigger the check engine light for this problem. Out of sight of of mind. If the initial recall was a safety issue and if the same or similar problem persists without subsequent recalls or repairs I am concerned for my safety and the safety of my family.

11 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 07/31/2023

My vehicle was idling and came to a complete stop and stopped the engine and then an electrical malfunction message appeared and the car wouldn’t start back up. Various error messages started to appear on the drivers display (tpms, abs stabilization, lane assistance disabled).

12 Other Fuel System problem of the 2021 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 01/08/2023

1. The car completely stopped on the mass pike in newton (major highway)—could not get it past 65, then it started DE-accelerating and came to a 100% stop. After turning off and on, I was able to get it off the pike and drive under 30mph (with several stalls) to cambridge on back roads. 2. 12/22 the auto stop engaged when I wasn't at a complete stop. I had to manually start the vehicle by putting it in park and starting again. Once it did, there was a lot of lag. 3. In rolling traffic under 10 mph, the accelerator does not engage for a few seconds when lightly touched in order to inch forward. Once it does, the car lurches forward.

13 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 01/03/2023

Audi informed me that even though there was an initiated safety recall, and there was a test of our vehicle that confirmed the problem that the recall had identified such that the fuel tank should be replaced, they have recalculated the parameters for the recall and after further testing decided that the vehicle now is no longer unsafe. We do not believe them.

14 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 10/30/2022

Vehicle stalls even while actively engaged in driving. Audi diagnosed performing as designed and advised nothing that they can do until diagnosed as “not performing as designed”. Poses imminent crash issue as vehicle will stall at any time. Please investigate. I am terrified to drive the car from place to place.

15 Other Fuel System problem of the 2021 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 10/16/2022

Vehicle has a starting error. Dealer fixed p085 with the park neutral module but problems comes back. At stop light vehicle shut down and when brake was released there was a error starting it back up again. Had to put vehicle in park and start it again.

16 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 04/18/2022

Had service at 34999 - reported hard shifting between 1st/2nd then revved abnormally high at 32k. Dealer was unable to reproduce during service - appointments are a month out. Car has had propulsion/fuel system not responding at random at various severities and rough idle like the engine was struggling to get fuel. Also reported during last service. On one occasion vehicle shutoff at lower speed at approx 20k.

17 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 01/14/2022

Vehicle fuel pump fails intermittently even while actively engaged in driving. Engine stalled while driving putting me at risk for an accident. Issue was hard to diagnose because the fault would clear after an episode and reappear 300-400 miles after being driven again. Check engine light appears and then after allowing car to sit for a few hours, the car will start again. Sometimes the check engine light remains, other times it goes away on its own. Vehicle was inspected by Audi little rock and was performing as designed but issued occurred again 4 days after pickup. Currently the high pressure fuel pump is being replaced to try and solve the problem but vehicle can be made available for inspection if this does not resolve the issue. Since it is intermittently failing, issue hasn’t been duplicated during inspection. Incident has occurred approx 8 times since purchased in Jan 2022.

18 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 07/29/2021

Failure of seal between injector and fuel rail caused fuel to be sprayed into engine compartment. I believe the injector seal was damaged during a prior service. Fuel sprayed onto the front of the engine and gasoline fumes filled cabin. Check engine light came on after engine died from lack of fuel. Safety issue is the accumulation of gasoline in the engine compartment & the car continues to pump fuel. No apparent safety measure to cut off fuel when excessive fuel is being delivered to engine. I repaired vehicle, but only replaced the bad o-ring and another o-ring that appeared to be damaged. I left the other 2 o-rings in place. I couldn't find a contact for Audi that could address my concern. My concern is the design. The seal between the fuel rail and the injector is a pressure fit seal. If the o-ring seal fails, fuel sprays out through the failure point into the engine compartment. Fumes in the engine compartment could be ignited by the sparks inside the starter or other electro-mechanical switching that generates sparks. Vehicle is available for inspection.

19 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 03/18/2021

I purchased my Audi 2020 Q3 in November 2019. Since the purchase, on three separate occasions, the car has failed to accelerate under very specific speed conditions. In each case, the vehicle had slowed either due to a sharp curve while entering a freeway or for a slower vehicle in front of my vehicle while entering the freeway. When time came to accelerate to match the speed of the freeway traffic, adding power was futile. Drifting on to a freeway at 20 miles per hour and decelerating; while freeway traffic is moving at 70 to 80 mph (California) is unnerving at best and certainly, potential deadly. Audi calls the the problem "limp mode". Audi of America, inc. Issued emissions service action 96h5 - engine control module (ecm) software which cleverly dances around the real threat which is the potential for a serious or fatal accident. In March 2021, when 96h5 came available it was installed on my vehicle. The next week I took a road trip of several hundred miles. Unfortunately, the third " engine limp mode" occurrence happened nearly resulting in a major accident while attempting to enter the freeway. Nhtsa needs to recognize the seriousness of this specific problem. The current software fix is not a fix. People will eventually die.

20 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 03/12/2021

On four occasions, the engine stopped working and the steering wheel was not able to be turned. This prevented the driver from moving the vehicle forward and steering off to the side of the road. This is an extremely dangerous situation. If the car is turned off and restarted, the problem resolves with this reset. The intervals between these episodes have been several months. There are no specifically common variables, other than a lower speed - start/stop as in waiting to cross a line of traffic or proceeding through a stop sign. I have taken the Q3 to the dealer 3 times now and have been told that a software update is the fix. Recently the car has been making a vibrating noise when coasting, and it lost power in an intersection on the way to the dealer for service. The car completely shut down and even activated the parking brake. We always disable the car's auto start-stop feature, as we suspected that to be involved, but that is not the issue. We feel this car is unsafe and the Audi dealer seems unable to diagnose and resolve the problem. Our first Audi purchase, we had one of the first 2020 Q3 to arrive in the us and four shut-off incidents since we purchased the car in oct 2019. The car was driven less than anticipated due to covid, remote school/work and no travel. Perhaps more frequent driving would have accelerated the claim process for us. Ironically, we chose the car for its safety features primarily for our teen/young adult drivers. The car has shut down for three drivers, twice for our teen and once for each of the parents, so we are confident that the problem exists as described and persists despite attempts to fix it. Each time we felt it was resolved due to a long interval between incidents, but today was more frightening than others due to the intersection where it occurred. This could cause a critical accident.

21 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 02/21/2021

We stopped at an all way stop intersection and the car's stop-start system had turned off the engine. When the engine restarted the engine hesitated, warning lights lit up on the dash, and the car went into its "limp home" mode. We were in the process of making a left hand turn and the car would not accelerate above a very slow speed. Luckily it was on a city street with a 25 mph limit and traffic was light. We were able to make it through the intersection and pull to the side of the road. We turned the car off and waited a few seconds and restarted it. The car worked normally after restarting and the problem has not happened again. I have received a notice for a recall that seems to address the issue (oem 96h5. Recall name: engine control unit (ecu) software) and have scheduled an appointment with my dealer to have it installed ASAP.

22 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 06/15/2020

Timing chain failure.

23 Other Fuel System problem of the 2015 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 03/16/2020

My 2015 Q3 is having the same problem timing chain failure lined in the 2019 recall for models from 2008-2014. My 2015 has about 51,000 miles and should not be having this issue according to several mechanics and my Audi representative could not provide me any information other than that my VIN didn't fall in the class action even if I was having the same problem. I believe my model year should at least be reviewed if the problem was common just a year before.

24 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 02/18/2020

While driving my 2 month old Audi Q3 this morning the car completely stalled while going approximately 40 mph. I received an error message, drive line malfunction. The car would not respond at all after applying the accelerator. I was almost hit by 2 trucks!!! I then put the car in park and it was able to start it up. I brought it to the dealer, they just called me and told me they found an error code p060c00 indicating an internal control module problem. They said that there is no known fix at this time but they said that there is a known service bulletin on this issue. They said that I need to disable the auto start stop feature on this car each time I start it up. What do I do now? my wife will not drive this car anymore and does not want me to drive it either! this is not a safe car to drive. Please help!.

25 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 01/22/2020

My 2020 Q3 purchased December 21, 2019 malfunctioned in the middle of an intersection January 22, 2020. It had 1400 miles on it. The steering wheel locked and I had no engine. I could not turn the steering wheel and it shut off the brake lights, which left me in a seriously unsafe situation. This was the third time it happened. The other two instances happened in a parking lot. I thought I had done something wrong with the start/stop. My dealership has dismissed my safety concerns and have offered no resolution to the problem, other than disengage the start/stop every time I get in the vehicle. There was no guarantee of when this would be fixed and was told it could be months to get the parts. There was also no guarantee that this wouldn't happen with the start/stop already disengaged. I am driving a vehicle that could potentially shut down without warning leaving my life and the lives of others at risk.

26 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 01/15/2020

I purchased my 2020 Q3 on Dec 31 2019. Within 2 weeks my car stopped at the signal light with a malfunction of auto stop/start issue and would not move forward. I had taken to the dealer and they mentioned that this is a known issue with 2020 Q3 and the software to fix the auto stop/start function will not be available untill end of 1st quarter. Now I am seeing the gas consumption high and the vehicle does not drive as before.

27 Other Fuel System problem of the 2016 Audi Q3

Failure Date: 08/16/2018

The contact owns a 2016 Audi Q3. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start properly and would constantly decelerate while in the middle of traffic. The contact experienced the failures often. Also, the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to Audi dominion (21105 I-10, san antonio, TX 78257, (888) 478-2089) where it was diagnosed that a new fuel sensor needed to be installed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failures recurred. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and had it repaired again, but the failures recurred. During the third repair, the dealer broke one of the headlights. Since then, the failures recurred multiple times. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 49,500.
